“I-I like you, Wonwoo oppa.” Wonwoo stared at Jaein with his eyes widened in shock. “I… I never showed it but I really do. I finally got some courage to tell you this.”

“What do you think of me?” Finally, she lifted her eyes upwards to look at him but his expression made her stomach churned in a not good way.

Why does he look at her with that kind of eyes? It seems like he’s staring at her in pity and she doesn’t like it one bit. Then, Jaein suddenly felt scared of hearing what he wanted to say next. She felt like she won’t ever want to hear his answer.

And then reality hits her like a bull-dozer.

“I’m sorry, Lee Jaein…” Wonwoo mumbled lowly.

Jaein groaned, feeling so frightened after hearing the same taboo words that made her collapsed to her knees in agony. Shaking her head while gripping onto her blanket, someone shook her shoulders so she would open her eyes, getting her back from her dream world.

Heaving in deep painful breaths, she blinked her eyes open as cold sweats ran down her face. A face with a worried expression appeared right in front of her, telling her that nothing was going to hurt her, not even her nightmare if he’s around.

“Jaein? Are you alright?”

“Oppa…” Relieve sigh came to her when she saw the face that calmed her down.

Woozi compared her temperature with his by her forehead and his eyebrows knitted for a while. “You’ve gotten yourself a fever. Rest for the day. I’ll tell your Classroom teacher.”

“No. I’ve got to go school.”

He shot her a glare for even trying to sit down on her bed. “If you don’t want my unending lecture of how ‘Health Should Come First Before Studies’, you better not move from your position, young lady.”

“But--”

“And ‘But’ shouldn’t even be at the start of a sentence. Rest well and don’t move. I’ll tell mom about you so she could bring some medicine from the pharmacy. I’ll even ask dad to make some of his delicious porridge for you. Goodbye.”

“So is and…”

“Where’s Jaein?” Dokyeom asked weirdly when he saw no sign of her at her friend’s table.

Wonwoo stopped chatting with Mingyu as he turned to look at the respective table. He raised a weird brow when he saw she’s not at her usual seat. Turning to her brother, he wanted to know the reason why she’s not in school too.

“She finally got a fever after having nightmares for days now. I won’t hang out with you guys today. I’m a little worried about her and our relatives are coming for the break so I probably should stay. Who knows what time they’ll be here?” Woozi answered with a shrug.

Time flies and it seems like Jaein didn’t come to school the next few days. Woozi, like the kind brother he is, went to take all her homework for break for her. Her nightmare didn’t come with bad memories only, it also gave her a flu which she can’t practically avoid.

Because of that, her cousin couldn’t sleep with her in her room like she always does when she came to Korea. Morning came and Jaein was still not over her fever. Her temperature did lower down but the fever didn’t disappear overall and it’s driving her insane.

Stepping down the stairs to get herself some water at the kitchen, she heard laughter came from her brother’s room. Staring at the door, she thought that maybe his friends came over to play or something. Then, it hits her.

Ugh. What if Wonwoo oppa is there too? There’s no ‘What if’. He’s definitely there since he’s one of oppa’s best friends. I better move fast. Jaein pulled the mouth mask higher and she prevents herself from coughing out loud or it will distract attention.

That is the least thing she wanted now. Making her way towards the kitchen, she almost freak out upon seeing her cousin right in front of her.

Kei almost giggle at Jaein’s widened eyes but she refrained herself at once. “Why do you look like you’ve seen me with three heads more?”
