Min jot down her notes in silence, her eyes flickering to the black board once in a while to see her teacher’s notes. Her seatmate’s eraser suddenly fell down as it rolled towards her foot. Picking it up, she wanted to hand it to him but she noticed the darkened eyes that instantly fell upon her.

Silently, she placed the bulk of rubber on his desk and continued doing her business. She completely knew why he gave her that scary stare. Honestly saying, more than half of the students inside her school give that kind of gaze to her when she’s in their 1 meter radius.

They knew about her. It’s frightening them so they were being cold just to protect themselves. They don’t want to talk to her and they left her alone behind them. Even though she knew, she pretended to close an eye and ignored them. It felt weird but she’s not normal. In fact, she felt like she’s beyond abnormal.

And the last thing she would do was to talk about her feelings to others.

Min raised her hand up to the sky with her eyes locked on the blazing sun. Her eyes slowly moved towards her hand, which had a star shaped tattoo on it, and she closed it to a fist, biting her lower lip at the same time. She pulled down her hand before heaved out a low exhausted sigh.

A soft mew appeared beside her and she turned to face her side, her back facing the bench’s backrest. She blinked at the full-black colored cat before pushing herself up to a sit. The cat stared at her as she stared back at it.

“Hi.” Min innocently greeted the calm animal.

Of course, the cat didn’t answer since it can’t, obviously. She rested both of her hands on the wooden bench, tilting her head to the side and letting out a soft smile.

“What are you doing here? Are you lost?” She asked again. “If I could touch you, I would get you out of this school. This school is not typical for a normal being like you.”

This time, the cat let out a mew again making her to soften.

“You’re not scared of me? If you knew what I’m capable of, you will run away the time you landed your eyes on me again.” She softly muttered and pushed her head up to look at the sky.

The cat hopped onto the bench as its eyes stayed on the mysterious being in front of it. It blinked at the sight of clear water dropped down from her cheek and it saw the way she curled her hand to a fist, the way she hid her face by looking down, her tears fell on her tight.

It stepped near her making the girl flinched when it rubbed its face at her arm. Min stayed away with fear radiating out of her eyes.

“Don’t come any closer. I can kill you with just a touch. I don’t want to hurt you…” She begged, warm water still came out of her eyes. “You probably don’t know but people don’t want to associate with me because of what I possessed. They’re scared of me, like how I’m scared of hurting you.”

She looked away sadly. “It’s unfair. I feel unfair because it happened to be me. It feels unfair to them because I’m breathing the same air as them. Everyone doesn’t want to be my friend and ever since I enrolled here, I can’t meet my human friends anymore. Before, I always feel like I’m content with what I have but now…”

“That fact changes with just a mere touch. I’m a killer and I could be a serial killer if people kept coming near me but I felt lonely. I honestly,” Min heaved out a tired sigh. “Just want a friend…”

The cat jumped down from the bench and it ran away from there. Min saw it left and she closed her eyes, trying to push away the sick feeling at the pit of her stomach.

“Even you left huh?”

Min stayed at the bench every single day after that and she noticed that the cat is always there with her. She didn’t make up a conversation instead they just sit down beside each other, silence surrounding them.

“What’s it like to have someone by your side?”

The black cat turned to look at her quietly as she had her eyes on the cloud that was passing by.

“I never really appreciate that feeling before. I suddenly felt curious about it.” She whispered lowly. “It must be great… To have a friend…”

It began to turn quiet for almost 10 seconds before a different voice spoke up.

“I could be your friend.”

Min eyes widened in shock and she snapped her head to her side, blinking her eyes at the small animal. “W-W-What…?”
