Hyungwon noticed a being was nearing his house step by step, slowly. He didn’t have to build a shield around his place since he knew who the soul belong to. After a minute pass, his door was kicked open as a bob haired girl went inside, patting her black hair for any white snow that was stuck to it.

“Ugh. It’s so cold out there. I felt as if I could freeze to death.” Yeonhee’s teeth were chattered as she rubbed her arms to give herself some warmth although it didn’t really work efficiently. “I swear, Winter season has a mutual hate with me.”

He flit his eyes from his book to her who was crouching down in front of the fireplace, palms facing the fire since it works the best from a human’s point of view. He stood up from his lazy chair after bookmarking the ‘Potion, Cauldrons and Magic’ book and he stride towards her.

She noticed his presence beside her and she almost yelp when he suddenly pulled her up to a stand. He then dragged her by her hood to who-knows-where inside his small house.

“Hey, Chae Hyungwon. I have a pair of legs you know. I can follow you without you tugging onto my precious sweater.” She spoke up, a frown on her forehead since she had a hard time to walk in her position.

Hyungwon made no respond to that as he continued his way, with Yeonhee behind him, to his secret place. He never really invite other people nor beings inside it as he felt that the place is his only comfort zone ever since she crashed inside his house months ago prior of being lost inside the forest.

As composed as he is, he despised it when someone stepped into his space without warning so he kind of hauled her out of the mountain before disappearing in a split second after they arrived at the end of it. Well, she is persistent in knowing the mysterious stranger so she decided to search for him again.

Not a good choice at first due to almost being killed by a random bear but the guy appeared again in front of her. He saved her for the second time and it’s the first time he accidently revealed his sacred identity to a mortal. Thinking that she’ll be scared out of her wits, he wanted to leave her when she suddenly exclaimed…

“That was so awesome!” Hyungwon cocked an eyebrow at Yeonhee’s excited squeal. “How did you do that? Did you kill it though? It just went ‘BAM!’ and it collapsed!”

“No.” He muttered shortly.

“Then, what did you do with it? It seems like it just die right in front of my eyes.” She said curiously and he felt so uncomfortable under her intriguing stare.

He was about to run away like lightning when she gripped his arm, halting his steps at once. “Let go, mortal.”

“Not unless you answer my question.” She scowled.

“I paralyzed it. Happy?” He mumbled with sarcasm making her to let out a soft smile, confusing him more at her peculiar expression. “Yeah. That’s pretty neat. The way you use magic that is.”

And before they know it, they become best friend although he never really thought of having a human as a friend. Just wanna clarify, he’s not a human. In fact, he’s a sorcerer, not a witch. Yeonhee often called him a witch, which pretty much, annoyed the hell out of him.

He always explains the difference of being a sorcerer and a witch every single time but she only blocked her ears. To her, both of them are the same thing.

He pushed the wooden, delicate-crafted door open and went straight to the huge cauldron in the middle of the room, releasing her from his grasp when he reached his magic supplies.

Yeonhee was about to retort about Hyungwon obvious witch-ness room when he cut her to it. “Hard or soft?”

“S-Soft…?” She was practically weird out by his question and her eyes widened when he threw an icky green colored frog that was still alive inside his huge black bowl.

Before she could ask the meaning of that, he had asked her another question again. “Poison or not?”

“Hell no to poison. Nuh-uh.” Yeonhee immediately shook her head, doesn’t really want to die early at the age of 20.

H
