Mingi swung her legs back and forth, quietly waiting for someone as she looked up at the blue sky. It’s clear enough to know it won’t rain for the day and surprisingly, the heat is tolerable for the people. It’s one of those days where the sky is baby blue but it’s accompanied with soft winds that won’t make people sweats because of the heat.

She’s silently waiting for her boyfriend to go out to their first date. Jaehyun had asked her out last week and he was delighted when she accepted him. Of course they started as friends first but she never would have thought that their relationship could get higher in where they are now.

Mingi frowned when her vision suddenly went black, hands cupping over her eyes. The voice which was coming next made her grin happily.

“Guess who?”

The voice was lowered on purpose and she had to let out a chuckle. “The actor Ahn Jaehyun?”

“Not quite. It’s your boyfriend, Jung Jaehyun,” Jaehyun’s voice reverted back to normal and Mingi felt a sudden force on her cheek but it was in a split second.

She blinked at him as her hand cupped over her right cheek in surprise. Smiling softly, he lent out a hand and she accepted it but with her face flushing.

“I’ll warn you first. Today, I’m going to give you all my sweetness so at the end of our date, you’ll probably get too much cavities that your teeth hurt,” he joked with his heart-fluttering beam.

She only rolled her eyes but there’s still a smile formed on her lips. Just like he promised, they did everything that she wanted for the day that is playing roller-blades, resting at a café and just walking around the park. Though it seems like a usual couple date, it wasn’t for Mingi.

It’s the first time she went out with a guy and she can’t deny the exploding feeling inside of her every time he showed his affection in public. He once said that he doesn’t like doing that cause’ people are watching so it made her peculiar. What made him broke his rules, she had no idea.

They were holding hands, him kissing her cheeks and even kissing lips to lips on their first date. She doesn’t have any protest about it though she was sure her face was flaring every single time he did it.

One thing she knew, she hoped that they could do this again some other time.

Mingi stretched her limbs after waking up on a brand new day as she looked over the window to see that the sun is slowly rising to the sky. Her date with her boyfriend is so beautiful that she even dreamed of nice things inside her sleep yesterday. And it was all thanks to Jaehyun. Him making her face turning red with his additional supreme affection was not appreciated though.

Reaching for her phone on her night stand, she typed in a short message before sending it to him.

Good morning.

It was simple yet full of meaning since she rarely shows her affection to him. Mingi waited patiently for his reply but after 10 minutes of staring at her phone, she concluded that he’s busy.

Are you asleep?

She chuckled to herself. How could he answer when he’s still sleeping? And also, she just asked a dumb question. She just hopes that he didn’t view her that differently after reading her text.

“I guess love does make a person non-sense…” she murmured, keeping her gaze on his name at her phone screen.

Mingi stood up and she cleaned up her sleeping place before she went out of her room that she shared with Habin, a 9 years old orphan. The girl was still sleeping and she doesn’t want to disturb her so she left her alone. She needed to help Mrs. Ryu, the care-taker of the orphanage, with breakfast today too.

Maybe after my morning duty, he’ll give me a reply. She hummed.

While Mingi was busy helping Mrs. Ryu, she momentarily forgets about Jaehyun. The other orphans thanked her and went away to eat their breakfast that is two sandwiches and a glass of milk. She handed a plate of the meal to the next orphan and the boy who’s the same age as her smiled.
