Heesun typed something on her phone as she hummed to the song she’s currently listening to.

You are about one span of a hand taller than me,

She waited for her boyfriend’s response when suddenly a knock on the door made her lift her head up. “Come in.”

Moonbyul stepped inside and she bowed towards Heesun before stating the reason of her coming inside her room. “Miss. Boss called you.”

“Dad?” Heesun had an eyebrow raised.

“Yes, Miss.” Moonbyul nodded.

“Alright. I’m coming in a minute,” she waved her away and typed in a reply after her boyfriend texted her back.

Sorry. Gtg. Dad’s calling.

Heesun left her phone on her study desk since her father despises it when she’s gluing herself to her phone with him in front of her. Swinging her legs from her bed, she wore her home slippers and made her way towards her father’s office which was on the first floor.

Knocking on the door, Heesun made her way inside and found her father sitting at his desk. “Dad. Byul said you need to see me. What’s the matter?”

“You’re invited to the Kim’s family’s son celebration party,” Mr. Ahn said as he slid the card on the table to her. “I would like it if you go as a sign of the Kim’s and Ahn’s friendship.”

Heesun read over the name ‘Kim Inseong’ and she pulled back the urge to let out a big sigh. “Is it mandatory?” she muttered, hoping her father said what she wanted to hear.

Mr. Ahn shot her daughter a look and she inwardly winched. “I’m just asking dad. Of course I’ll go.”

“Don’t bring my hopes down again, Heesun. You already did once when you rejected Inseong as your future husband. Shame on you,” her father growled, his eyes didn’t have a speck of joking.

“Alright, alright. In one condition…” Her father now had his eyebrows furrowed. “I’m going with someone and it’s Hyungwon.”

Heesun shut her eyes, waiting for her father to explode with fury but when 10 seconds passed without him throwing a hard file to her face, she bravely opened one eye. Mr. Ahn had his lips in a straight line and she knows that he was suppressing himself from going ‘KABOOM!’

“Fine,” he hissed unhappily.

Heesun was about to make a congratulatory dance when suddenly her father cut her out, “But Moonbyul’s coming with you.”

“WHAT?!” she shrieked in disbelief.

“And that’s final.” Mr. Ahn’s eyes were returned to his laptop, a sign that the talk had ended.

Heesun grunted lowly, snatching the card from the table and stormed off to her room. Immediately after she sit down, she texted her boyfriend about the talk.

I can go as well? That’s new. Coming from your father that is.

I know. But Moonbyul eonni’s coming too.

Why do you need a baby-sitter?

You seriously asking me that? Anyways, the other mafia families’ kids are probably going with their own bodyguards as well.

Heesun burst out laughing at the reply and she continued their conversation with a smile that never left her lips.

“Mafia families are really rich…” Hyungwon sighed at the huge house owned by the Kim family.

Heesun raised an eyebrow but merely shook her head and walked inside with Hyungwon tailing after her from behind. Searching for the birthday boy man, she spotted him in between his friends who were lounging around the couch inside the living room.

Inseong’s eyes were diverted from Rowoon and he saw Heesun waving her hand. Instantly, he left his friends to have a talk with her.
