CHAPTER 80: HER CHOICE

Stupid Love Letter

=============================================================

“So Zelo and Chanyeol likes you?” Youngjae asked Jinhee again to confirm. They were on the cafeteria. And Jinhee decided to tell them what’s going on.

Jinhee shyly nodded at Youngjae.

Daehyun smacked Youngjae’s head. “What’s with your question? It’s like you can’t believe that they like her.” Daehyun told him. “Look, Jinhee became uneasy.” He added. Youngjae just glared at Daehyun while rubbing his head and cursing him and the same time.

Jinhee shook her head as she lightly blushed. “It’s okay. Really.” She assured them.

“So that was why Zelo was absent today.” Jongup said as he pouted. He haven’t been hanging out with Zelo lately.

“Yes. And Chanyeol’s absent too.” Jinhee added. *Maybe those two really planned not to go to class today.* she thought with a pout.

“So among those two, who will you pick?” Yongguk worriedly asked her. He’s been thinking about Zelo and how miserable he must’ve felt. And so he thought at least he should know who Jinhee would be choosing among them so that he won’t have to worry anymore.

Himchan suddenly butted in. “Don’t pick them.” He told Jinhee then he pointed to Yongguk. “Just go back to Yongguk hyung! That way it’ll be fair. Right?” He asked as he wiggled his brows.

Lime hit his shoulder with her elbow. “What are you saying? You’re not helping her!”

“But it’s a good suggestion right? If you don’t want to hurt them then just go back to Yongguk hyung.” Himchan defended his side.

“Kim Himchan.” Yongguk hissed at him as he gave him a cold glare.

Himchan nervously laughed. “I’m really funny right Jinhee? Right?” He asked her.

Jinhee just nodded as a sign of ‘yes’.

“But who will you be choosing?” Lime curiously asked her.

Jinhee shyly smiled at her. “It’s…”

---

After their class, Jinhee was at her house.  She stared at the wall clock. 1:00. *2 more hours and I’ll have to go to one of them.*Jinhee thought as she sat at the chair beside the dining table.

She was still thinking about what will be happening later. *I don’t want to hurt them. Just why is it me? This is so hard!* Jinhee thought as she lightly banged her head on the table. *I wish all of this is just a dream.*

Her dad entered the kitchen and saw her. And in an instant he knew something was bugging her. He smiled as he sat beside her. “You have a problem?”

Jinhee turned to him and nodded. “Yes.”

“What is it? Tell me.” Her dad told her.

“Appa, why am I so pretty?” Jinhee lazily mumbled.

Her dad stared at her in disbelief. “Look at this kid. Are all the mirrors in this house broken? Should we buy new ones? Maybe we should let your eyes fixed. No. I think it’s your head that should be fixed.” Her father joked.

“APPA!” Jinhee whined.

“If you don’t know what to do, then sleep first and think about it later.” Her dad advised her as he stood up and grabbed a pitcher from the refrigerator.

*Sleep? Yeah. I haven’t slept yet. It’s because I’ve been thinking about them. Why are those two making it so hard for me? Are they really sure that this is not just another prank?* She thought as she slowly closed her eyes and finally drifted off to dreamland.

--

After having a good sleep, Jinhee lazily rubbed her eyes. “Appa, what time is it?” She asked him.

Her father stopped reading the magazine and glanced at his watch. “Time? uhh.. it’s 3:15.”

Jinhee nodded. “Oh. 3:15.” She mumbled as she scratched her head. Then she realized that she has to meet them exactly at 3:00. “3:15?! Why did you not wake me up?!” She exclaimed as she ran outside the house.

“But she never told me to wake her up.” Her dad said to no one in particular as he shook his head with a smile. “Aigoo. Just why is my Jinhee so pretty?” He mumbled as he flipped through the pages of the magazine.

---

Outside,

Jinhee ran as fast as she could. And she suddenly stopped when she realized that she still hasn’t made up her mind about where she will go. She was running without thinking. And now she doesn’t know where to go first. To Zelo? or to Chanyeol? She doesn’t know anymore.

Jinhee heavily breathed and after a few seconds, she finally made up her mind. “I’ll go to the Park.”

---

Chanyeol drummed his fingers on his thigh as he impatiently waited for her in the swing. “Is she late or she’s not really going to come here?” Chanyeol sadly mumbled to himself.

Suddenly he saw Jinhee running towards him. “She’s.. here.” Chanyeol immediately stood up and smiled. He just couldn’t believe that Jinhee would go to him.

Jinhee stopped right in front of her and tried to catch her breath. Her hair was a mess. And beads of sweat were streaking down her forehead. “I’m… sorry. I’m …late. I… overslept.” Jinhee mumbled as she placed her hand on her chest. She was trying to catch her breath.

“It’s okay. What’s important is you’re here.” Chanyeol smiled. “So, does this mean you’re choosing me?” He asked her as he stared right in her eyes, waiting for her to say yes.

But Jinhee couldn’t say yes. She kept avoiding his gaze and she looked uneasy. Very uneasy. “I’m here because of that.”

The smile painted on Chanyeol’s lips slowly faded as he watched her spoke. And he had this feeling that he wouldn’t like whatever that she is going to say.

“About your confession, I was really shocked but I really appreciated it. Thank you for telling me. And thank you for always being there for me.  I’m really happy that we were able to meet. But I don’t think.. I.. uh…”Jinhee stuttered as she tried to find the right words to tell him how she feels without hurting his feelings. She just doesn’t know how to reject him without hurting him if that is possible.

And at that moment Chanyeol knew what she was going to say.

“Chanyeol, you’re a very special friend to me but---“

“Jinhee.” Chanyeol called her attention and gently placed both of his hands on her shoulders.

Jinhee was a bit shocked by what he did and turned to him in confusion. “What?”

Chanyeol flashed her one of his happiest smiles before making her turn around, her back facing him but his left hand was still on her shoulder.

“What are you doing?” Jinhee asked him as she was about to turn around but Chanyeol stopped him. “You should run fast.”

“Huh? What are you talking about?” Jinhee asked in perplexity.

Chanyeol tried to stop his tears and tried to smile. *Don’t cry Chanyeol. She’s still here.* He told himself as he breathed deeply. “You’re… going to Junhong right? You should run fast since you’re already late.” He told her as he struggled to fight the tears that were about to fall from his eyes. In the end he failed. Chanyeol quickly wiped it away and gulped. “You should go now.”

“What about you?” Jinhee asked him.

“Me? Don’t worry about me. I’m fine.” He lied. Chanyeol is not fine. His heart was breaking into a tiny million pieces at the moment.

The girl she loves was in front of her but he’s letting her go because she doesn’t love him. Chanyeol stared at his hand which was still on her shoulder. *She couldn’t go because I’m hindering her. If I let go of her right now, it feels as if I won’t be able to hold her again like this. What have you done to me Park Jinhee?* He thought as he placed his right hand on his forehead and slowly let her go.

“You should go. Junhong is waiting for you. Go.” Chanyeol said as he gently pushed her back.

“Are you sure? I’m here becau—“

Chanyeol nodded even if she can’t see him. “Go and don’t look back here.” He told her. *I don’t want you to see me crying.* He thought.

“Don’t worry about me. After this, I’ll be going to a restaurant and I’ll be eating my favorite patbingsoo. I’ll be fine. I’ll even treat you next time.” he assured her.

“Thank you and I’m sorry.” Jinhee sincerely told him. “And next time treat me with the patbingsoo okay? I’ll be waiting for it.” Jinhee said before running away as fast as she could.

Chanyeol couldn’t do anything but just stare at her retreating figure which becomes smaller and smaller every single second. Chanyeol heavily breathed and wiped away all his tears then he walked away. “I’ll just eat patbingsoo to cool down my heart.”

---

At the Bus Stop,

Zelo glanced at his phone. “3:40” He read. “Does this mean she’s already gone to Chanyeol hyung? Did she really leave me?” He asked himself as he stared at his phone’s wallpaper. It was a picture of Jinhee. “I’ll wait here for five minutes. If you don’t come by then, I’ll leave.” He warned Jinhee’s picture.

10 minutes has passed. And it already rained but still there’s no Park Jinhee who showed up. “It became ten minutes because I didn’t notice it. I was fascinated by the rain. That was why. But now, I’ll give you ten more minutes. After that, I’ll leave. Really.” Zelo mumbled as he eyed his wallpaper. *Just come here already Jinhee.* He pleaded as he sighed. He was already losing hope.

4:00

It was impossible that Jinhee’s late for an hour. And today is a very important day. One hour has passed. *This means..* Zelo stood up and started to walk away not minding the rain drenching him and his clothes.

---

The rain suddenly poured heavily and Jinhee was just a few blocks away from the Bus Stop. Jinhee stopped running and stared at the sky and cursed. “Why does it have to rain now?!” She exclaimed not minding other people walking by who stared at her, they’re probably thinking that she’s sick in the head. But it doesn’t matter to her. What matters right now is Choi Junhong.

Jinhee glanced at her watch. “4:01” She shook her head. “He’s still there. Junhong will wait for me. I know he would.” She cheered herself on and continued walking to the Bus Stop.

Unfortunately, there was no one there. People are walking past her with their umbrella’s and Jinhee was there getting soaked in the rain while trying to find him over the area. It was hard to find him because of the people walking by, she had to check their faces one by one to see if it was Zelo or not.

Suddenly, Jinhee thought of an idea. “I’ll just text him.” She mumbled as she her phone but it wouldn’t turn on. *It’s out of power.* She thought as she closed her eyes in irritation. “THIS IS THE WORST DAY EVER!” She shouted her heart out.

“Apples, buy apples! It’s on 50% off!” An Ahjumma announced noisily through the megaphone she was holding.

“Aish! So noisy!” Jinhee commented. And that’s when she thought of something crazy. She was despearate to find him after all. Jinhee immediately walked towards the Ahjumma. “I’ll buy apples! But please let me use this.” Jinhee said as she pointed to the megaphone.

The Ahjumma smiled at her as she handed her the megaphone. “How many would you buy?”

Jinhee bowed to her and stared at the megaphone. *This will help me.* She thought as she smiled.

“How many would you buy?” The Ahjumma asked her again.

“A box. I’ll buy one box. Send it to this address and ask payment from this person.” Jinhee said as she quickly wrote down her address and her father’s name. Then she gave it to the Ahjumma with a smile.

The seller nodded to Jinhee. “Ahjumma, I’ll use this okay?” Jinhee asked her again. She nodded with a smile. “It’s okay.”

Jinhee smiled back and bowed deeply at her. “Thank you so much.”

Jinhee walked out in the rain and eyed all the passerby. She breathed deeply and nodded. *I can do this.* She thought as she turned the megaphone on and started calling Zelo’s name.

“CHOI JUNHONG!”

--

Zelo paid for the hot canned coffee and was about to go out of the convenience store but he heard two girls chatting.

“Is she crazy?” The other girl asked.

Her friend shrugged. “Dunno. Maybe. But she kept calling a name. I think it was Choi Junhong.”

“Maybe it’s her boyfriend?”

“Maybe.”

Zelo’s eyes widened. *It’s Jinhee!* He thought as he smiled and immediately went out of the convenience store and from a distance he saw Jinhee calling out his name in the middle of the rain.

“Yah! Choi Junhong! Just where did you go huh? Why can’t you wait at the bus stop! Who told you to leave! You’re really crazy! If I see you again I’ll really hit your head! If you don’t want me to do that, then come here quickly!”

“It’s really her.” Zelo mumbled to himself with a smile as he quickly walked towards her.

---

*Did he really leave? I’ve been shouting here like an idiot and he’s still not here. Did Zelo really leave?* Jinhee thought as she bit her lower lip.

And now she regrets going to Chanyeol first. *But I chose to go to him first so that I could explain and thank him properly.* Jinhee thought as she sighed.

Even when Chanyeol confessed to her, what she found difficult was how to reject him. He was one of her special friends after all. And sadly, he’ll stay that way.

If you’re going to ask about her choice. It’s Zelo. It’ll be him. Forever and always.

Jinhee shook her head with determination. *I’ll call him one more time. If he doesn’t show up, then I’ll just go to his house.* She thought as she turned the megaphone on and looked up. She was about to speak but she suddenly saw the person she was looking for.

Choi Junhong.

He walked towards her with the biggest smile plastered on his face. Jinhee couldn’t help but cry as watched him approach her. “I thought you left already.” She said over the megaphone.

Zelo stopped right in front of her and took out the hot canned coffee he brought from the nearby convenience store. “I just bought something to drink. Why would I leave? I would even wait for you here until tomorrow.” He told her.

“But I really thought you left. I was late for an hour and my phone died on me. I have no way of communicating with you. I was so scared. I was thinking that you left because you thought I chose Chanyeol.”

Zelo stared at her weirdly. “I’m right in front of you. And I can hear you well. You don’t need to use that anymore.” He said.

“I had trouble getting this and you’re telling me not to use it?” Jinhee stubbornly shook her head. “No way. I’m going to use this till the end.”

“Till the end?” Zelo asked her.

“I have something to tell you and I want others to hear this too. Are you ready?” Jinhee grinned.

Zelo nodded, anticipating what she would be saying.

Jinhee took a deep breath and focused her eyes on Zelo. “I love you!”

“Really?” Zelo mockingly asked her.

Jinhee shook her head. “No. That’s not right. I don’t just love you. Because I really really really really really love you. It’s true. I love you thisssss much.” She said as she spread out her arms in the air and smiled at him.

“This much?” Zelo asked as he imitated her. Zelo was smiling so happily that it looked like his mouth would be torn at any moment. But what can he do right? He was just so happy because Jinhee is rarely expressive of her feelings to him. What’s more is that they are in a public place and she’s using a megaphone. Zelo really appreciates her effort. He was about to hug her but Jinhee stopped him. “I’m not yet done talking.” She told him.

Zelo heartily laughed as he backed away. “Mianhe. Okay. Proceed. I won’t interfere anymore.” He said as he raised his arms as sign of surrender.

“I want to say sorry because I made you feel bad. I just agreed with Appa that Chanyeol is more handsome but that doesn’t mean anything! He may be handsome but you’re my boyfriend! Of course you’re my number one no matter what! You idiot!” Jinhee exclaimed.

“Number one?” Zelo asked as he bit his lip and nodded teasingly.

Jinhee ignored his comment and continued talking. “And I was just so curious about you and Chanyeol because you never told me that you’re siblings. That’s why I ..compared you with him. I know I’m stupid. Mianhe. I won’t do it again. I swear.”

Zelo slowly bobbed his head up and down as a sign that it’s okay and he’s forgiving her. “Are you not done yet?” he asked her excitedly. It’s because he couldn’t wait to hug her.

Jinhee smiled at him. “Your eyes are cute even if they disappear when you laugh. Your hairstyles are the best. Your noodle hair. Pink hair, blonde, blue every color and style suits you. Your milky white teeth are so small and they’re cute too! And you rap excellently.  And even though I feel like I’m walking with a giant everytime I’m with you, you’re height is one of your millions of positive features. Don’t compare yourself with Chanyeol. And don’t mind everything that your mom tells you. You’re perfect to me. Sometimes I even wonder why you liked me. But I’m really thankful that you do. I’m really thankful that Lime placed my letter in your locker. I can’t imagine what would’ve happened to me if that didn’t happened. To sum it all up, I love you so much. So don’t be insecure of Chanyeol anymore. Don’t think so lowly of yourself because to me you’re the best person on Earth.”

Zelo couldn’t help but cry in happiness. It’s because for the first time in his life, he felt really special. And it’s because of her. Without saying another word, he hugged her as tight as he could. Burying his head on her fragile shoulders, he was able to inhale her sweet strawberry scent.  He didn’t care if she’s not yet finished talking. He just want to hug her right now. He’s just so happy because of what Jinhee did.

Zelo broke away from their embrace and gently cupped her face. “Chanyeol hyung doesn’t have everything. It’s because he doesn’t have you. And luckily, you’re mine. And you are my everything.”

And in the middle of the rain, in that magical moment, their lips met.

A/N:

To everyone who subscribed, upvoted and read my story until the very end,

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR SUPPORTING THIS STORY! <3333 I really appreciate your comments and all. And for telling me that you love my story.  I really had fun reading your comments. :) (Sometimes if I’m not in the mood to write, I reread your comments. And they help me out ALOT) Thank youuuu~! <3 You guys are the best~ :D

I remember when I started writing this story. I always write Hongjun instead of Junhong because I’m not yet familiar with him. Lol. XD And my goal was just to reach 100 subbies. But I even surpassed it. So I was really happy. ^^

And I know I promised a Daehyun fic before but it didn’t happen because of Kyungsoo. Sorrrry. T.T I picked Kyung because I think the character really fits him. And I don’t think I’ll be having a Daehyun fic soon because there’s Sungjae, Luhan and Yeol.

Like all great things,  the time for this story to end has come. Finally. lol. Thank you for all your support and for being a big part of this.

That’s all I guess. :) Thank you again! God bless everyone! :)

P.S.

I randomly made a special chapter for this story so I’m not really sure if you’ll enjoy it. The idea just popped in and I decided to write it for fun. I'll post it later. :)
