LEE JIYEON | AYAKA

Harry Potter has always been my favorite movie ever since I was a kid. My brother and I always watched it and we even have our own collection of books back in Japan. And whenever we like, we would go to the Universal Studios in Japan and spend the whole day there. That’s why when Kai made a simple gesture to watch a new JK Rowling movie, it melted my heart. I never thought that he actually listened to me while I was baffling about the new movie. I appreciate all his thoughts and I am more than thankful to be spending this afternoon with him. The whole movie, we were watching while holding each other’s hands—and no, we didn’t do anything besides watching and holding hands and if you guys are thinking if we kissed, no we didn’t. I wanted to enjoy the movie so…

“Thanks for today babe,” I smiled as soon as we went out of the movie theater, holding each other’s hands.

“No problem,” he winked, “Want do you want for dinner? Do you want some fancy resto or I can just cook for you at home. My parents are not home.” He proposed.

“I think I want the latter,” I smiled, “I missed your cookings.” I exclaimed.

“Good,” he smiled widely, “I badly wanted to cook some of your favorite dishes, uhm, what do you want? Beef? Chicken?” he asked excitedly and I couldn’t help but laugh.

“Anything, I just want to eat anything you make.” I smiled.

“Beef then,” he mumbled as he winked at me.

“Should we head to the grocery store or…?” I asked.

“Naah,” he declined, “I planned for this so I already bought ingredients before hand.” He smiled which caused me to smile back.

“You’re so full of surprises My Kai,” I mumbled as I clung to his arms and smiled widely.

After the movie, Kai and I went to his house so that we could have some private dinner. I actually love the idea since it has been a while since we had this kind of alone time and I really need a time for myself and of course my boyfriend to catch up with each other. Kai cooked braised beef—which I love and some other side dishes to keep us full for the rest of the night.

“Since when did you learn how to cook braised beef?” I asked as I tasted the food that he cooked and wow, it was heavenly.

“Since I found out from noona that you love it.” he answered as he smiled.

Sometimes I don’t really know what Kai and my sister talks about when they’re alone and I guess they’re talking about me whenever they have the chance.

“Anyway, my family will be coming home next next week for eonni and oppa’s engagement. Well, ofcourse, oppa will ask for their permission first but I know well that they’ll approve.” I blabber as I continued on eating my beef.

“Of course they will,” he beamed, “Are you nervous about that too?” he asked.

“No, of course not,” I exclaimed as I calmed myself before telling him what I’m planning, “I… uhm, I’m planning on telling them about us—the real us. You know, we’ve been planning to tell them since the day we became real with each other. Your family already knows and I just want for my family to know too.” I explained, “I… I was thinking if we could talk to my family after the engagement. Like, tell them that we’re together now—for real.” I finished and searched for Kai’s face.

“Of course, yes, of course babe,” he smiled, “I am more than happy to relay the great news to your family but I can’t help but to feel nervous.” He chuckled nervously as he scratched the back of his head and I couldn’t help but to laugh.

“You don’t need to be nervous. My family likes you, if anything, they would be happy that we’re finally together for real now.” I exclaimed which earned me a smile from Kai.

“I hope so,” he muttered as he found my hand and gave it a squeeze.

“I know so,” I reassured as I gave back the squeeze and smiled.

After that conversation, we savoured our dinner together as we inhaled each of the dishes, leaving us full and contented.

“You know, we should probably do this every week. I love cooking for you and I love the time we spend together, alone.” He suggested while he was placing the plates in their dishwasher.

“We should,” I smiled, “I would love to eat every food you make and maybe, I should try and learn some dishes too and cook for you.” I mumbled as I went to him and hugged him from the back, “I’ll be cooking next week, would you like that?” I asked.

Kai turned back to me and cupped my cheeks, “Well, as much as I would love that, I wouldn’t want my kitchen to be burning down.” He kid which earned him a smack from me.

Kai is really too honest for me—well, which I love.

“Hey, my cooking’s fine! I can cook just like you.” I retorted and he just kissed the tip of my nose and laughed.

“I know,” he mumbled, “But I also know that you’re kind of clumsy while you’re at the kitchen so I wouldn’t want to risk that. Besides, I love cooking for you. Let me do this for you, okay?” he asked and I couldn’t help but to nod.

“Fine,” I surrendered, “But I’ll do the grocery, okay?” I asked and he nodded.

The night was so young and we still have more hours to go before everything goes back to normal tomorrow. I was about to kiss him when—“Whoever that is, I’m going to hunt him down.” Kai kid as we break from our hug.

My phone was ringing and it was such a bad timing! I mean, we’re about to kiss!

“Let me see who it is,” I laughed as I took my phone and saw Myung calling me.

      “Who is it?” Kai asked.

“It’s Myung,” I answered and Kai just scowled.

“That guy is really out there and interrupting us in the middle of our moment.” He mumbled and I just laughed at him.

“I’ll just answer this, okay?” I asked, “I’ll kiss you later.” I kid as I winked at him and he just laughed at me.

“Be quick, I don’t want to wait too long for my kiss.” He smiled, “I’ll just get change upstairs and when I come back, you’re done talking with that L freaking Kim.” He muttered.

“Kai! Stop calling him L freaking Kim!” I laughed.

“What?” he asked innocently, “Isn’t that his name?”

      “Kai!” I shushed.

“Fine, fine, just be quick.” He exclaimed as he ascended the stairs, leaving me in the kitchen.

I quickly answered my phone and greeted Myung happily.

“Hey Myung, what’s up!” I exclaimed.

“Was I disturbing you?” he asked.

Oh yes, you did. As much as you’re my best friend, I was kind of left there hanging to kiss my boyfriend.

“No, no, of course not,” I lied, causing me to laugh a little.

“Good,” he mumbled, “Anyway, I was hoping if you could drop by our house next week and have some dinner.” He started.

“Dinner?” I asked, “Why? What’s up?”

“Nothing, uhm, my sister just wanted to apologize properly after everything that happened last time. She also wanted to talk to you and my parents kind of missed you.” He answered back and I quickly agreed.

“Of course! I would love to come!” I smiled, “When will it be?” I asked.

“Next Friday and don’t worry, it’s nothing formal. It’s just a simple dinner,” he muttered.

“Sure, sure, I’ll come!” I answered back.

“I’ll pick you up on Friday and I’ll see you soon on school.”

      “Great, see you!”

Myung finally hang up and just in time when Kai returned. He quickly went closer to me and hugged me, resting his chin on my shoulder.

“So what did he say?” Kai asked as I hugged him back.

“Nothing, he just wanted to invite me in some dinner with his sister.” I answered back which caused Kai to break from our hug.

“Dinner?” he asked, “Why does he need to have dinner with you?”

“It’s nothing. His sister wanted to apologize to me after last time and I wanted to talk to her too so I guess this is the opportunity.” I answered back.

“What? What did that guy’s sister do to you?” he asked, suddenly protective.

“It’s nothing, just a minor argument.” I smiled, “It’s fine, okay?” I asked as I caressed his cheeks to assure him that everything’s okay.

“You can go,” he exclaimed, “But only if I will be the one to bring you there.”

“What?! But—“ I was about to retort but Kai didn’t let me.

“End of discussion.” He exclaimed, “I’ll you or you’re not going at all.” He mumbled, “Come on, noona and hyung’s probably looking for us now.”

I sighed. Kai can be a little bit possessive at times but I understand him.

PARK SOOYEON

It has been months now since Kai and that Jiyeon became together. And for the past weeks, I have been in hell. Moving on wasn’t easy and I had a quiet many mornings of no breakfast, afternoons of breakdowns and nights with tears. My family was really upset upon hearing of what happened and wanted to talk to Kai or even to his father—for threatening an innocent teenager. But I ask them not to and let this go. Yes, it is painful but I’m finally kind of getting back to my tracks and that is because of my bestfriend, Minho. He was the one who stayed up with me through the night. He’ll drop by every morning, makes sure that I eat my breakfast and accompanies me to school up to my classroom. He also takes me out every lunch and break time just so we wouldn’t bump with some people, namely Kim Jongin and Lee Jiyeon. And at night, he would call every time to make sure I wasn’t crying myself to sleep but if I couldn’t help it and breakdown, he would always sing me lullabies until I fell asleep. I am thankful for everything that he had done for me and now, I am ready to finally face my fears—my ex boyfriend and his girlfriend.

“Are you sure you want to eat lunch here?” Minho asked when I dragged him towards the cafeteria.

“I am,” I answered back, “Besides, I have been avoiding them for what? Almost a month now, I just can’t keep on avoiding them. I mean, I should be immune now.” I answered back as we settled on the table near the door.

I chose the seat near the door so it would be easy to leave if I see something that I didn’t want to see.

“Chocolate cake for my princess and a milkshake for Gayoung,”

My ears perked up as soon as I heard that melodic voice coming from the table in front of us. They were seating two tables before us and I couldn’t help but to look at them.

“Sooyeon, I don’t think this is a good idea.” Minho exclaimed as he held my hand, forcing me to leave but I just couldn’t help but to watch the painful scene in front of me.

“So Jiyeon’s a princess while I’m not?” Gayoung asked as she took the milkshake from Kai’s grasp.

“Well, you should find your prince now, Juliet,” Kai kid, “Or maybe Chanyeol’s just not here. Where is your prince charming anyway?” he teased, causing him to smile cheekily while Gayoung hit him in the head.

I couldn’t help but to feel bitter—I used to be the one making him smile, just me.

“Stop it, you guys,” Jiyeon laughed as she acted as referee between the two.

“As you wish my lady,” Kai smiled as he winked towards that girl and I couldn’t help but to feel the tears sliding on my cheeks.

      I was… his lady.

“We should leave now, Sooyeon,” Minho exclaimed as he grabbed my hand and literally dragged me out of the cafeteria.

I thought I could handle it already. After a month of not seeing them… I thought I could look at them and not cry anymore but I’m wrong… so wrong in many levels. Because up until now, I am hurting and I guess I am too far from being healed.
