PARK SOOYEON

      I love Kim Jongin ever since I first laid my eyes on him. It was on our tenth grade when I saw him playing basketball on our school’s gymnasium. I accidentally watched him while I was waiting for Minho since he was also playing the game. It wasn’t the first time that I have seen Kai, infact, he’s so popular, everyone in the campus knows him—and I do too. Well, that time I didn’t ave any interest in him because everyone knows him as a jerk, a cussing machine, a snob and all. But that day, I don’t know why but I was suddenly drawn into him… and since that day, I vowed to myself to make him mine. I tried everything to get his attention—I would always watch their basketball games even though Minho’s not playing, I would try and make friends with some of his friends just so we could have some mutual but he never paid attention to me. Until eleventh grade came and finally, Kai and I were classmates, seatmates even and so, I took that chance to finally get close with him. But Kai wouldn’t be Kai if he wasn’t a snob. I spent a month just so I could engage a talk with him because he was seriously a snob. Until a day came when life was just a to him, I heard that he had a problem with his family and he was literally scary that time but I boosted myself up and talked to him. I gave him advices, I listened to his problems and all, and just like that, I gained his trust. After that, we clicked and we treated each other as bestfriends… and I thought that he would never fall in love with me, but he did. He told me that I was a great bestfriend and he’s willing to risk our friendship into another level and on the 6^th of October last year, we became official but I didn’t know but a year later, of the exact same date, he would crush my heart into pieces.

      “Sooyeon…” Chanyeol called me and I know that he’s feeling sorry for me right now—well, everybody is.

      “Sooyeon, we’re sorry,” I heard that girl’s voice ringing into my ears and I just want to shut her up and beat the hell out of her.

      She’s the reason why Kai didn’t go back to me! She’s the one why this thing became complicated!

      “I’ll just talk to that jerk,” Chanyeol muttered as he left the auditorium to go after Kai, leaving the three of us alone.

      “Sooyeon,” I heard Jiyeon called me again and right there, I snapped.

      “Don’t ing call me!” I shouted at her.

      And she was just there, looking sorry at me and I just hate it. I decided to just leave because I might do something that I might regret.

      “Sooyeon, don’t worry I’ll—“ I quickly snapped at her and shouted, losing every bit of my patience, “Shut the up!” I exclaimed as I glared at her, “You’re the reason why this is happening!” I exclaimed as I pointed at her. I know very well that Kai loves Jiyeon even though he barely shows it, but I know Kai very well and the way he looks at Jiyeon was the same way he looked at me before… full of love and admiration. And now, he just looks at me like a friend, like we used to be and I just hate him—no, scratch that, I just hate Jiyeon for that. This is all her fault. If she didn’t transfer here, then Kai would still be madly, deeply in love with me! “You’re the one who ruined it all! You ing stole Kai away from me!” I shouted as my tears continued to stream down my eyes and I saw the surpriseness in her eyes. Well, I guess she’s too dumb to even notice Kai’s feelings towards her. “And them?!” I asked as I pointed to Sehun and where Chanyeol disappeared, “Go! Steal them away from me too! That’s what you want right?!” I asked. I don’t know what’s so great about Lee Jiyeon that everyone likes her because all I see is a selfish who wants everything for herself! “You want  to steal every ing thing away from me.” I shouted, frustrated.

      And finally, I decided to leave because I don’t really want to hurt her more—well, physically but then, the just can’t leave me alone.

      “Sooyeon,” she called again as she reached for my arm but I quickly pushed her away from, making her fall on the floor.

      Good thing I did that because somehow, I felt good to hurt her. Because after all the hell that she made me go through, that simple pain is not enough to show her how hurt I was. She doesn’t know how much it hurts to see your boyfriend be with someone else. To look at them while they laugh together while you’re in a corner, bawling your eyes out. She doesn’t know any of those.

      “Jiyeon!” Sehun exclaimed as he ran towards Jiyeon, helping her to stand up.

      “From now on, I swear to you… I will make your life a living hell!” I shouted as tears fell down from my eyes.

      I walked out, now, nothing and no one is stopping me. I ran away, not knowing where I would go. All I know is that, I want to leave this hell and just forget all this heartbreak! I was on my track when someone grabbed my arms and enveloped me in his arms.

      “Ssh,” he hushed as he smoothed out my messy hair, “Stop crying, I’m here.” He consoled me.

      I looked at the guy who was hugging me and found Minho. And I don’t know but I felt like I was high on truth serum as I told him everything that happened.

      “He… he rejected me, Minho.” I muttered, “He doesn’t love me anymore.” I sniffed.

      “His loss, not yours.” he whispered into my ears, soothing me. “He’s an for not appreciating you.” He muttered but I couldn’t help but to cry.

      “It hurts Minho…” I whispered, “His father approved of me already.” I muttered as I remembered the last conversation I had with Kai’s father.

Seoul, South Korea – September 26, 2016

      It was a usual Monday and everyone had already gone home from school. I’m the only one left since I decided to finish all my works and then head home and just sleep all night. I looked at the time and it was already past seven o’clock. I stood up from my seat at the library and was about to leave but I was shocked to see the same three men in black standing before me.

      “Mr. Kim wants to talk to you.” One of them said.

      Mr. Kim?

      “Long time no see Ms. Park.” A male’s voice exclaimed as he made a dramatic entrance before me.

      I don’t know why but I suddenly felt the anger that I have been holding against him but at the same time, I was scared of him.

“W-what do you need from me?” I asked, stuttering as I looked away from him. “I already left Kai. What else do you want?!” I blurted out angrily.

      “I’m not here to threaten you Ms. Park.” He informed me that actually left me astounded. He’s not here to threaten me? Then what is he doing here? “I came here to apologize.” He muttered, showing me a smile, “I’m very sorry for threatening you just to leave my son alone. I’m sorry if I’m the reason you needed to leave Kai… it was my fault.” He told me.

      I can’t find any words to tell him, I mean… is this true? Is he really sorry?

      “M-mr. Kim,” I called.

      “It was Jiyeon who opened my eyes that I was wrong.” He smiled. Jiyeon did? She talked to Mr. Kim just for Kai and me? “You can go back to Kai, Sooyeon.” He smiled, “I’m very dumb to threaten such beautiful lady.”

LEE JIYEON | AYAKA

      I never had a boyfriend before because as I’ve said before, I always thought of having a boyfriend as something so sacred. I don’t go into relationship just for fun. I want my first boyfriend to be my last. And I’m willing to wait five good years before I find myself a boyfriend but then all of those things were shattered by this extra-ordinary guy. He showed me to just lay back and let everything go with the flow and I trusted him.

      “I don’t want to rush you or anything so…” Kai trailed, “It’s up to you if we’re going to start now or I’m going to court you first.” He muttered. I smiled and I just couldn’t help but laugh at him. “I’m serious A,” he told me, “I’m going to court you to show you how much I really love you because I know that you still can’t believe this.”

      “Fine,” I answered as I nodded, “If that’s what you want.” I smiled, “But remember that I’m not easy to get.” I joked and Kai just laughed at me.

      “Come here, you,” he exclaimed as he pulled me into a tight hug, “I just love you so much,” he whispered into my ears and I don’t know but it just felt so right… to be in his arms and be safe around him.

      I couldn’t  help but to close my eyes as I savor this moment right here—with him.

      After that dramatic scene at the playground, Kai and I walked home. We were holding hands and just talking about the things that we have missed after those long torturous days of avoiding each other. We finally arrived in front of my house and Kai was about to go inside when I turned to him.

      “So you’re courting me now?” I asked him and he nodded.

      “I sure am,” he chuckled as he scratched the back of his head. “I’m courting this beautiful lady in front of me,” he winked that caused me to laugh.

      “Well Mr. Suitor, see you tomorrow,” I smiled awkwardly.

      Well, what would you expect? Our relationship just upgraded from fake fiancés to him being my real suitor! This is just weird! Because we all know that I never thought of dating this guy in front of me but I guess fate just have its own twisted ways of getting us tangled but I like the way we’re tangled right now.

      “Wait,” he stopped me before I closed the door.

      “Yeah?” I asked him cluelessly.

      “Am I allowed to go back here now?” he asked as he pouted.

      “Here? At my house?” I asked him and he nodded. And right there, I just thought of an amazing idea, “No,” I answered back.

      “No?!” he asked, surprised.

      He’s probably not expecting me to answer ‘no’ at him.

      “Yeah,” I nodded, “You’re not allowed to go back here,” I informed, “Well, until I answer you to be my real boyfriend.” I smiled cheekily and he just shook his head with a smile on his face.

      “Is that a challenge?” he asked me and I nodded. “Well, let’s see who crawls back into my arms when she couldn’t help the thought of being away from me.” He whispered but loud enough for me to hear.

      “Are you implying something?” I asked as I cocked my eyebrows at him and he just smiled.

      “Nothing,” he shrugged as he act coyly, “Did I say something?” he asked me.

      “That’s what I thought,” I chuckled and was about to close the door when he stopped me again.

      “Don’t I get a goodbye kiss?” he asked as he pouted and I just shook my head.

      “And who’s the one who can’t be away from me?” I asked him, laughing. I just shook my head as I kissed his cheeks, “See you tomorrow,” I smiled and I can see clearly how I sent butterflies into his stomach.

      “See you tomorrow.” He smiled, with a tint of pink in his cheeks and I couldn’t help but to tell him that’s he’s blushing.

      “You’re blushing,” I laughed.

      “I’m not!” he exclaimed as he quickly turned away from me, running across the street as he tried to cover his pink-stained cheeks.

      I smiled as I watched Kai ran back to his house while I was there, standing at my doorstep, and thinking. I don’t know what will happen now but I guess, I should just go with the flow and accept everything that fate is giving us.
