Then Jaerin follow Kai to see his dance group and eventually they fall in love and become a couple. Jaerin's ex-boyfriend saw them date and confront them. After they talked about it, then he realize he take Jaerin for granted and wish happiness for Jaerin and Kai.

You were sitting on a bench just outside the café shop that was the place where you and your boyfriend had agreed to meet up for a date. The weather had gotten cold the last couple of days. You occasionally looked around hoping to see him walking from afar. You rubbed your hands together trying to keep them warm as you shook from side to side to fight off the chilly air. You pulled out your phone constantly checking the time. He was late.

You assumed he might be stuck in traffic or something like that. You really hope he didn’t forget because he was the one who wanted to go on this date while this crazy weather was freezing everywhere. He was an hour late and your patience was running. You were freezing y our out her waiting for him, and decided to go wait inside instead. You order hot chocolate to warm your body as you sat near the window. The heater in the café was like heaven to you at the moment. You were just relieved to get away from the chilly weather. You checked your phone again deciding to give it a call. After multiple rings it brought you straight to his voicemail, irritated you sent him a text.

You were becoming impatient and his lack of communication was frustrating. He didn’t answer your calls or text messages. You sighed helpless as all you could do was stare out the window hoping he would show up like he planned.

“Jaerin?” You heard someone call your name. The voice sounded nothing like your boyfriend’s. You turned to the owner of the voice and a small smile appeared on your face.

“Kai!” You said sounding happier than you should have. You didn’t know why but you were just really happy to see someone after waiting for an hour of no one. You were already getting up from your seat taking a step forward to pull him into a hug. “I haven’t seen you in so long.” You said squeezing the life out of him as he chuckled from the other side.

“Can I join you?” He asked and you accepted without a doubt.

Kai was one of your good friends through middle school and high school. The two of you hung around with the same group so you saw each other often during your teenage years. He was always such caring and funny guy. After high school, you attended a different college from him and didn’t get to see him as often as before. A lot of it was mainly because of y our boyfriend. Your boyfriend had somehow become the only friend you had because he didn’t like it when you hung out with your guy friends.

“What are you doing here by yourself?” Kai asked from the other side.

You pouted and then replaced it with a sadden smile. “I was supposed to meet up with my boyfriend for a date but he’s running late.” You answered feeling bitter thinking he has yet to return a single phone call.

“Can I accompany you until he gets here? You looked really bored.” He teased and that made you laugh. You agreed completely that sitting here, staring out the window, and constantly checking the time on your phone did make you appear a little lonely.

You didn’t realize time was passing by so fast as you caught up with Kai chatting about his whereabouts. It was nice to have someone you could talk to. Kai was glad he ran into you. He had always liked you since high school. He remembers the jokes his friends would throw at the two of you saying that you and him were practically like a couple since the two of you were always together. He liked the idea of being someone you can depend on, someone who wasn’t just a friend.

“Jaerin, I don’t think your boyfriend is coming.” He said looking at his wrist watch. “I have to leave I think you should too.” He suggested as you once again tried to call your boyfriend but he didn’t answer. You were agitated and hurt. Your boyfriend who wanted to go on this date, kept insisting on it, ditched you and he wouldn’t even answer your call.

“Where are you going?’ You asked not wanting to be left her alone.

“I have a dance practice to go to.” He answers getting ready to leave.

“Can I go with you?” You asked and he reached his hand out to you.

You knew Kai liked dancing and you knew he was a really good one too. That was one of the main reasons why he was popular among the female students in school. He danced his way into their hearts without even knowing. Although you knew how good of a dancer he is, you were amazed at how much he improved over the last few years. His moves were sharper and alive. His passion was seen through the difficult dance moves. He glides so well against the floor almost as if he was flying. His feet were incredibly fast. You couldn’t help but stared in awe as you watch him and his dance group practice a routine they made up.

You clapped your hands loudly when the dance was over, and you couldn’t take your eyes off of Kai. How was he able to dance so gracefully and powerful at the same time? When Kai danced he became as different person. He wasn’t the Kai you knew from middle school to high school. He was someone who was confident and flowing with charisma.

“I forgot how incredibly amazing you are as a dancer.” You said not being able to close your mouth. “You seriously are the best!” You said giving him two thumbs up. He shyly smile returning to the Kai you had known as he tried to hide his redden face.

You had long forgotten about your boyfriend and how he ditched you. You were having a great time with Kai when your phone started to ring. It was your boyfriend. You rolled your eyes as you step out of the room to answer his call.

“Where the hell are you?” You raged. “We were supposed to meet up at the café like you suggested. I waited for two hours for you. I called and texted you. Why didn’t you returning either one?”

“Hey look, I’m sorry. I know you’re mad at me but I had to meet up with John.” He starts his excuses and you already had enough.

“So you ditched me for him?” You barked back. “You’re always ditching me for your friends but you get mad when I can’t even hang out with mine. You know what, since you enjoying spending time with John so much you go and be his boyfriend. It’s over between us. Don’t call or text me. “You said what you needed to and ended the call.

You gave him no time to respond. You didn’t want to hear his excuses because he’s done this more than once. He always left you for his friends, and you never said much because you didn’t want him to be separated from his friends. BUT when it came to you, he wouldn’t even let you meet up with your own friends.

You pushed your hair back taking in a deep breath as you exhaled it out. You felt better and lighter. Kai was standing behind you as he found you arguing over the phone with your boyfriend.

“Hey,” Kai softly called. He was careful to approach you after what he heard. You turned around startled as you hugged yourself. “You okay?” He asked and you nodded your head. He knew you were going to cry any second now, and he was ready to lend you his shoulder.

In about five seconds, his prediction was right. Your eyes were filled with tears as your lips slowly trembled. Before you were able to bring your hands to bury your face, Kai wrapped his arms around you pulling you in close, and patted your head. This was the first time in years that you saw Kai, and like the gentleman he had always been, tonight he was your knight in shining armor and your shoulder to cry on.

You hung out with Kai more and he would often bring you with him to his dance practices. The two of you reunited with friends from high school, having endless conversations, and bringing back old memories from high school. There was something about Kai that always made you feel so reassured and relaxed. With Kai, you didn’t have to be someone, you were able to be yourself and have fun. He was understanding and caring. He knew how to bring out the best in you. Realizing that Kai made you happy-he always made you happy, and you start to think you like him more than just a friend. You knew it wasn’t because of your recent break up and your broken self that was making all of this up. Kai had always treated you differently than the rest of the girls in your group of friends. He always took care of you regardless.

Kai waited because he didn’t want to rush you into a relationship when you just got out of one. He waited until you were okay to start over again. He doesn’t know long you and your ex-boyfriend dated for, or how much he means to you, but Kai was willing to wait because waiting was something he was used to when it came to you.

A month based by and your days increased with Kai. He was the first person you talked to in the morning, and the last person you talked to at night. Receiving his morning texts were the best because it meant you were the first person he thought of when he woke up, and that brought butterflies to your stomach. You didn’t want to hold out any longer seeing the two of you were slowly becoming more than just friends. You asked him out on a date, coincidentally at the spot where you met him again after years.

You sat at the same table you were at when you were waiting for you now ex. You went ahead and ordered two cappuccinos, and waited for him by the window seat. It seemed Kai had the same thought as you. He came prepared ready to confess to you about his feelings. You couldn’t help but laugh when the both of you confessed at the same time. Today marked the first day of you and Kai officially being a couple.

The first week was like a fairy tale. You spent time with him as usual except this time you walked hand in hand, and often he would sneak a kiss to your cheeks making you blush as his dance members hollered a tease. Perhaps it was because you and Kai had known each other for a long time that none of this was unusual or awkward. It was as if the two of you had never separated after high school.

You stopped his dance practice surprising him and s with food knowing they all had been practicing more than usual since they were competing in a dance competition the following weekend. Kai was of course, surprised and thankful that you had such a kind heart. s declared that Kai must never break up with you, and if he ever did anything to hurt or make you cry, all you had to do was tell them and they will beat him up for you.

You placed a wet cold towel on his back. “Thanks,” he said smiling into your hair. “You’re the best you.” He added a kiss and you turned your face just in time for it to land on your lips. You giggled as he pushed the kiss further.

“Eat,” you demanded. “I can only rest assure after my boyfriend is well fed.” You raised a spoon to his mouth and without a doubt he ate whatever it was you fed him.

You didn’t notice that while you and Kai were being lovey-dovey with each other, feeding and teasing one another, your ex-boyfriend was watching from afar. He spent days trying to get in contact with you, even went to your house, but you rejected his presence. He knew you were mad and he thought that he that if he apologized, took you out on a date, and bought you some stuff you would forgive him like you normally do. This time you didn’t.

He waited until you were alone before he approached you. You were on your way to the bathroom when he appeared out of nowhere startling you.

“So you dumped me for him?” He said sarcastically. “You rejected all my calls, wouldn’t even let me apologize, and all for him?” He accused angry.

“Why should I when you’ll just do it again like how you’ve always been?” You retort. “This isn’t the first time you left me hanging, but it was the last. I’m sick and tired of having to repeat the same crap, especially when you think I would just forgive you just like that.”

“You must be happy.” He chimed.

“I’m very happy.” You answered. “He is a good friend of mine, someone I knew way before I dated you.”

“Hey babe, everything okay?” Kai said from behind. He looked at you and then at your ex-boyfriend. He rapidly made his way towards you as laced his fingers with yours. So this was the jerk that ditched her.

“Everything’s fine.” You replied. Kai took it as it is. He did not want to add fuel to the fire. He extended his hand out. “I’m Kai, Jaerin’ s boyfriend.”

“Sehun, just a friend of hers.” Your ex-boyfriend said as he shook hands with Kai. He watch the way Kai stood next to you, held your hand confidentially, and how happy you looked. He realized then that he had taken you for granted. He kept his bad habits knowing you would always forgive him, but he never once thought you would be the one to leave him.

He excused himself not before wishing you happiness. He didn’t want to stick around any longer seeing what he had lost due to his reckless self.

Kai gave your hand a squeeze and you knew it was his way of telling you it was okay.
