No One POV

As the results were being announced Chorong’s heart was pounding really fast. Partly because of the result, but the other part was because Irene was standing right there. Chorong couldn’t help but think how perfect she looked. She felt herself staring at Irene for a bit too long and was afraid people might noticed, so she kept scolding herself to snap out of it. Chorong has been trying to muster up the courage to talk to Irene and be close to her, but in the end she always chicken out.

The result came out and it was Beast that won, which Chorong didn’t mind. As she was walking off the stage, Irene was standing near the end bowing to people who walked by. Chorong was so nervous that she ended up hiding behind Hayoung as they were getting off the stage, completely looking different way as she walked past Irene.

“where’s Bomi?” Chorong asked when she noticed Bomi wasn’t in the fitting room.

“last I saw her she was talking to Irene unnie.” Hayoung answered.

Everyone in Apink seems to be close to Red Velvet except for her. Chorong has always been shy around strangers, but when it comes to facing Irene, that shyness becomes worse.

“can you go get her? We have to go back to the dorm now, got an early schedule tomorrow.”

“sorry unnie, but can’t you do it? I have to help Namjoo unnie right now.”

Chorong sighed and just agreed. She wanted to get the other members to do it, but it seems like they were busy. Chorong started walking out of the fitting room and walked towards the MC room. Once she got to the front she was feeling really nervous. She raised her hand to knock on the door, but before she could she paused. Her hand lingered in midair. She was breathing in and out trying to get rid of the nervousness. Once she felt a bit better, she knocked on the door twice. While she was waiting for the door to be opened she kept telling herself to calm down and stop being so nervous.

The door finally opened and it was Irene. Chorong was staring face to face with her crush.

“oh h-hi.” Irene said trying not to sound nervous. Just like Chorong, Irene become nervous at the sight of her crush.

“hey unnie, is it time to leave?” Bomi asked, making her way towards the door.

“yeah manager oppa is already in the van waiting for us.” Chorong replied, breaking eye contacts with Irene.

“okay! Bye Irene unnie, I’ll see you soon!” Bomi gave a hug to Irene, while Chorong just stared awkwardly feeling jealous. After Irene and Bomi parted, Bomi came to Chorong and grabbed her hand to leave. Chorong wanted to say bye to Irene, but she was too scare so she just turned and let Bomi drag her out. Irene stared at the two walking…or well running away. Then she closed the door and turned her attention back to her donsaengs. The rest of the Red Velvet members had came to visit their eldest unnie to see how she’s doing.

“I saw that.” Wendy said.

“saw what?” Irene walked over to gather her stuff.

“that look you gave to Apink’s precious leader.” Seulgi joined in and winked.

“I have no idea what you two are talking about.”

Irene was about to ask the two maknaes for help, but when she looked over to them she saw that they were also mocking her. Joy was pretending to be Irene while yeri was pretending to be Chorong.

“oh Chorong-ah, I’ve liked you for so long.” Joy tried to say in Irene’s voice.

“really? Oh my, I feel the same way too!” Yeri gushed.

“will you make my boring life fun and be my girlfriend?”

“of course!” Yeri squealed then hugged Joy, while the other two were clapping their hands happily.

Irene’s face was really red from embarrassment. As much as she wanted to deny it, she couldn’t help but wish something like that would happen.

“alright, you kids can make your own dinner tonight. I’m heading to the van now.”

Irene gathered her stuff and headed out while the younger members ran after her saying they’re sorry.

“so what are you guys up to today?” Chorong asked the rest of the members. Their schedules for the day had gotten canceled so now they are left to doing nothing.

“Eunji and I are going to go to the arcade!” Bomi shouted excitedly.

“I have a study group.” Namjoo said.

“I’m going to go out with Wendy and Seulgi.” Naeun said.

“oh you’re going out with Red Velvet members? Me too! I’m going out with Joy today.”

Right when Naeun and Hayoung mentioned Red Velvet members Chorong’s heart started beating fast. If the others are out what will Irene be doing? Chorong wondered if she should call Irene to ask her if what wanted to hangout. No she shouldn’t.

“hey unnie, do you want to come with me? We can ask Irene unnie to come along.” Hayoung suggested.

“no!” Chorong let out due to nervousness at the thought of her hanging out with Irene.

“okay just asking.” Hayoung raised her hand in defense.

Chorong went back to her room and lay in bed. She felt a bit frustrated at her shyness. She walked over to her shelf and took out Red Velvet latest album. Red Velvet had came by and gave us each an album with a short message from each of them. No matter how many times she read the message from Irene, she still smile like an idiot.

Hello Chorong sunbaenim! I hope you will like this album, we put in a lot of effort for it. I heard you guys are preparing for your album, I can’t wait to hear it! I’ll always be a huge fan of you and will forever support you! Please stay healthy! <3

Even though it was a short and simple message, it was sweet and still melted Chorong’s heart. Just Irene saying that she’s a fan of Apink makes Chorong smile. She couldn’t wait until their album comes out, because Chorong was a lot better at expressing herself throw writings instead of speaking.

“hey Hayoung-ah, does your Chorong unnie not like Irene unnie?” Joy asked.

“what makes you say that?”

“I don’t know, it just seems like she’s always avoiding Irene unnie and always hides when Irene unnie is present. Whenever Irene unnie isn’t there, Chorong unnie is actually pretty talkative and nice.”

“because, my friend, my precious Chorong unnie has a crush on your precious Irene unnie.” Hayoung said plopping some fries into .

“are you sure?”

“yup. Chorong unnie only acts like this if she likes someone.”

“then we gotta do something about this! Irene unnie has had a crush on Chorong unnie since our pre-debut days.”

“oh really?!”

Hayoung and Joy continued talking about how both Chorong and Irene are perfect for each other. They texted their members about what they should do, and it turns out their memebers were just as useless as their brains.

“how can we get them together?” Joy asked.

“I think if we leave them in a room alone together they will have to talk and maybe it’ll lead into something more.”

“that’s a good idea! But how do we get them alone…”

“I got this.” Hayoung winked, “Irene unnie is at home, right?”

“yes.”

Hayoung took out her phone and started dialing Irene’s number. She pressed call and waited as the phone was ringing. After a couple of rings, Irene finally picked up.

“hello?”

“Irene unnie?”

“yeah, what’s up?”

“are you free right now? I kind of have an emergency.”

“what is it? Are you and Joy okay?”

“oh yeah we’re fine, it’s just Chorong unnie is at home right now and she’s really sick. Do you mind going to our dorm to check up on her?”

“why me? What about you or the others?”

“Joy and I are across town, so it’ll be hard to go back to the dorm now. As for the others I can’t get in contacts with them. Please unnie, you’re our only hope!”

“I don’t know Hayoung-ah…Chorong and I don’t talk much, it’ll be awkward.”

“no it wouldn’t! Chorong unnie have always wanted to get close to you, so I’m pretty sure she’ll be happy that it’s you there!”

“I don’t know…” Irene was feeling scared at the though of being alone with Chorong. She was wondering why Hayoung was making her do this when she has other people to call.

“please unnie, I’ll text you our dorm code, thanks! You’re the best!”

Hayoung decided to hang up before Irene could say anything. Hayoung and Joy decided to go back to Joy’s dorm to see if Irene will actually go to Apink’s dorm. Irene was at a lost of what to do. After pacing around her living room back and forth she decided to just go since she was worried about Chorong also. She gathered her stuff and took a taxi to the dorm.

Irene couldn’t believe that Hayoung actually gave out her dorm code just like that. Irene was standing at the door, afraid to go in. She didn’t know if she should knock or just go straight in. What if Chorong is in bed? She thought it’s best to just go in, since she didn’t want to disturb Chorong. Irene slowly punched in the codes and then the door unlocked. She carefully grabbed the doorknob and turned it to go in. She was met with emptiness in the living room.

“yah! If you come home, shouldn’t you gre-” Chorong came out of her room to scold the member who didn’t greet as they came in, but was stunned at who she was staring at.

“h-hi.” Irene said nervously.

Chorong stood there still stunned at what was happening. Irene is in the dorm. It’s just the two of them. Chorong started panicking because she didn’t know what to do.

“w-what are you doing h-here?” Chorong asked.

“umm Hayoung said you were feeling sick and asked me to check up on you. Are you feeling okay?”

“Hayoung told you that I’m sick?”

“yeah…”

“oh. I’m okay, thanks for checking up on me.”

Chorong was feeling confused, but touched that Irene would come to check up on her. She couldn’t believe the maknae would do this to her. She took out her phone and was about to text Hayoung to ask what’s going on, but she noticed she got a text from her.

Irene unnie is on her way to the dorm. She likes you! So go for it!

Chorong kept re-reading the last part of the message. Is that why Hayoung sent Irene here? How did Hayoung know that Chorong like Irene?

“since you’re okay, I guess I’ll get going then.” Irene said awkwardly.

“do you want to stay a bit?” Chorong asked suddenly before Irene could leave, which surprised Irene a bit.

“I-I mean…since you came all the way here and stuff…”
