L’s POV

After watching Hye-min and Hoya hyung through the secret camera, I felt guilty. Maybe they would have already been together if it weren’t for me.

If the kiss on my birthday didn’t happen…

He was a much better match for Hye-min than I would ever be. He cared about her more than I ever could. He may even love her more than I will.

They were meant to be together. It was clear, not just to me but to everyone who witnessed that moment they shared.

From that moment, I told myself I would let go. I would stop thinking about Hye-min and rid all the memories we shared. But it wasn’t easy, especially with us staying over at her house for the next week. To our surprise our CEO and her parents had made arrangements to “take care” of Infinite during our stay in Canada. They did more than they needed to. Hye-min’s parents took us to all the famous attractions in Toronto while Hye-min was busy with school and organizing prom.

And today was finally the day of her prom.

We arrived at the hotel early and were flocked by Hye-min’s classmates for signatures and pictures.

“Oppa! Can’t you be my prom date?” Some girls asked.

“Or give me one dance? Please?” The continued.

“We’ll see.” We said politely rejected them.

Although we assumed Hoya hyung would be chosen by Hye-min, I couldn’t help but hope that I still had a chance.

“There they come!” Sungyeol hyung pointed to the limo as Hana stepped out with Sean.

“Woah, is that Hye-min?” Sunggyu hyung rubbed his eyes before pointing to the girl being helped by the hotel guards.

I squinted my eyes and took a closer look. A girl in a long lavender dress, with her hair perfectly set stepped out of the limo.

“It is! It’s her!” Woohyun hyung shouted.

She looked beautiful. I didn’t think it was possible for her to get any more beautiful, but she did. I was completely speechless and the thought of giving her up escaped my mind that second.

I could still make her mine.

“Oppa! Hi!” She smiled, her eyes glistened in the light.

“Hye-min, you look…” Hoya hyung started.

“Gorgeous.” I finished.

“Aw thanks! You guys look very handsome!”  

Hye-min guided us to the garden to join the other students.

“So Hye-min, have you decided who your date will be?” Dongwoo hyung asked.

“Yup.”

“Who is it?” he asked. I listened in very closely for her answer.

“You’ll find out right now. I have seven boutonnieres here but only one matches my corsage. The one with that box will be my prom date.” She said handing us each a box with our names on it.

It was her turn to play a game on us. Students quickly gathered around us, they were just as curious.

Hoya hyung and I exchanged nervous glances.

This was it.
