Chapter 40: First Date
The Past is the Key to our FutureSoo-jung’s POV
Dongwoo oppa and I were together…alone, just the two of us.
Hye-min really threw a surprise at me. She always had a way of doing the most unexpected things at the most unexpected times.
“So, what do you want to do?” Dongwoo oppa asked.
“Um, anything is fine with me.” I smiled. He took a few steps ahead and stopped in front of me. He turned around and I looked up, startled by his suddenly change in position.
“Then let me give you one of the best days of your life…wait…no today will be the best day of your life.” he smiled tapping my nose.
I couldn’t decide which made me happier, his words or his actions. I felt a million sparks shooting through my body, from head to toe. Just as the sparks were fading, he reached for my hand and took the lead.
“Could I get two hot chocolates?” he asked the cashier at the café as I scanned the desserts in front of me.
“Oh wait a second please.” Dongwoo oppa walked over to me and wrapped his arm around my shoulder causing me to flinch.
“So which one do you want?” He asked. I ran my finger on the glass, looking at all the different varieties, and pointed to the strawberry cheesecake.
“That one?” he pointed with his finger. I turned to him and nodded with a big smile. Although it was a small gesture, it proved that oppa was paying attention to me.
“It’s a shame I only get one day off.” Oppa sighed as we walked to an empty table.
“It’s okay, we’ll make this one day worthwhile!” I smiled.
“Oh, I’ll get it!” he jumped as the beeper buzzed.
He came back with our drinks and cake. The hot chocolates had a mountain of whipped cream piled on it. Without much thought Dongwoo oppa took a big sip of the drink. As he pulled away, the whipped cream left a marking on his nose and upper lip causing me to giggle. When he saw me giggle, he joined in revealing his perfect teeth. I helped him wipe off the cream not realizing his gaze. When I met his eyes, I shied away feeling my cheeks burn.
“Ready to go?” he asked when we finish the last bite of the cake.
“Yup, let’s go
