Chapter 59: Mistaken

During their last day in Jeju-do, everyone managed to get along. Sungyeol kept his promise and stayed distant with Hye-min. L and Hoya tone down their actions; though they still avoided her, they tried to make it less obvious. With Sungyeol, L and Hoya avoiding Hye-min, she found herself alone for a big portion of the time. Everyone seemed to be paired up, Soo-jung and Dongwoo, Woohyun and Sunggyu, L and Sungyeol and finally Hoya and Sungjong. Hye-min was the only odd ball without a partner. Although she felt lonely and upset, she didn’t complain once. She masked her true feelings behind her “happy” face. She didn’t want to cause trouble again like Hoya said.
“Sungyeol oppa, do you want to sit with me on the plane?” Hye-min asked.
“Uh…I’m going to sit with L. Sorry.” He said walking away.
“Oh…it’s okay.”
As much as she was disappointed, Hye-min expected it. She accepted the fact that she didn’t fit. The eight of them were idols or idol-to-be; they were from the same company. They were a family. She was just a “fan” who won a contest and at most she was only Soo-jung’s cousin.
“Hye-min ah, I’ll sit with you.” Woohyun said patting her on the back.
“You don’t have to…” she sighed. She didn’t want someone to sit beside her out of pity.
“But I want to.” He looked into her eyes to assure her.
“Let’s go.” He smiled taking her hand and handing the attendant their passports before entering the plane.
It was the first time in a while that someone showed that they cared for her.
“Thank you, oppa. Really, thank you.” She said with sincerity as she put on her safety belt.
