Coffee and Wine
The Baddest Chick in the Game
Athena's POV
“And....cut!”
I move as I heard the director cut the scene. It's my last scene for the day.
“Our latest rating is 47 flat in Seoul while nationwide is 40.7! Yes, we're still the top rater
on our timeslot!” He excitedly announced. We all clapped in happiness. All the hardships that the
crew and artists have been going through are worth it.
“I know that all of us are dead tired because of the hectic shooting schedules...so, let's go
home and take a good sleep...Thank you for your hard work...let's call it a day!” His smile goes
ear to ear same with the PDs. The network will probably call them one of these days for the
shower of praise...
“Congratulations!” The PD says to me.
“Congratulations to us...” I smile and proceed to the dressing room.

I'm changing my clothes in the dressing room as my stylist and personal assistant chats.
“I'm excited to watch the coming episodes...finally Dong Won sshi's character will confess
his love for Athena sshi's character!”
I smile because of my stylist's enthusiastic tone. She's a fan of the drama and though she watches
the taping, she still watches it on TV.
“Even celebrities watch it as well...I read a magazine earlier and Nam GyuRi says that she
loves watching our drama these days...she said that the story hooked her and the romance
between the main characters are truly endearing...” My assistant says.
I breathe deeply upon hearing that name.
“Wow...now I know why I couldn't see you earlier...you were somewhere reading a
celerity magazine...so tell me, what’s the latest?”
“Oh yes! Do you know that No Min Woo came back to Korea from his long stay in U.S.?”
“Omo! The love of my life No Min Woo....finally he finished his studies there...he'll be here
again...can't wait for his appearances again....”
I close my eyes tightly...why do I have to hear their names? I never wanted to know anything
about those people...I don't want to be reminded of their existence. Eager to not hear anymore, I
came out as fast as I could. I didn't even look back when both girls called me.
My manager followed me. We reached the parking lot when I saw his face.
“Good morning...”Jaejoong greets.
“Oh, Jaejoong sshi...you also had your drama taping here?” My manager asks.
“Ah, yes....We just finished with our shoot..how about you?” he asks her.
“Same...” she replies then he turned to me.
“I'm just thinking if you want to go for a coffee with me...?”
He's asking me for a coffee? Why?
“It'll be better if it's wine...” I answered after I recovered from surprise.
“Huh?” now he's the one surprised.
“I won't go for a coffee..”
He didn't say anything for a few seconds so I moved.
“O-okay...that's fine with me..” he says in an uneasy tone.
“You go now. I have an appointment you see?” I said to my manager.
“But...”
“I would go home by myself...I’m no longer grounded right?'
“Yes but don't drink too much....you have a schedule this evening.”
“I know.” Just that and I turn to him.
“Where's your car?” I ask.

Jaejoong's POV
I couldn't believe myself. The taping for our drama already finished in the morning and I should be
sleeping now yet I asked her for a coffee...and worse is that we're not in a coffee shop now but in a
bar...
“Do you really drink wine in the morning?” I ask while watching her gulp down the white
wine from her glass.
She gave a half smile.
“No...I just feel like drinking this today...I had coffee at work...this will help me sleep easily.”
I just stare at her.
“So, how's work?” she asks.
“Good...we'll be working on different activities..”
“Ah...that's nice..” then she yawns.
“I want to go home now...thank you for the drink.” she bowed at me and started to walk. I
paid for the drink and followed her.
“I'll send you home.”
She looks at her hands then had them in her pockets.
“I don't have my wallet...” she realised.
“That's why you should take my car..”

Jaejoong’s POV
We're now in front of a condominium building.
“You have to drop me off at the parking lot or else the paparazzi will follow you around if
they see me get off your car.” She says. She's right because there’s a lot of paparazzo in front of
the building. I drive the car to the underground parking. She got off without a word. I lean my
head at the head rest of my seat. What am I expecting? That she will invite me upstairs? I open
my eyes when I heard some light knock on my window. It's her so I roll it down.
“Do you want to come up? I'll return your coat.”
I followed her but we didn't go to the elevator but to a door on the farthest corner of the parking
lot. It's the back of the building and there is a high wall on it so nobody could go around from the
front side without entering the building.
She rode a golf cart...where did she get that?
“Come.....I don't really live here...it's just a decoy home...” She says as if she reads my mind.
I ride and she drives.
“But...”
“It was an arrangement to make everyone especially the paparazzi believe that I live
here.”
Brilliant, I said to myself...we never thought of that...It will be good to brush away the sasaengs
and reporters..
After five minutes, we reached another building that is a few blocks away from the first one. We
enter through the back and enter an elevator. It is quite small probably for her private use only. It
brought us to the top floor. She lives on a penthouse.
“Come in.” She invited me in.
I could say that the penthouse that I live in is definitely bigger that this one. The interior is plain
and simple so as the furniture. Not even a single sign that a big actress lives here. I don't see any
pictures around too.
“Here...I already had it dry cleaned...thank you again..”
I got my coat from her hand and our eyes met. We just stare at each other. Her eyes look cold yet
there's something in them that makes her mysterious. They are very hypnotizing especially when
she's staring back at me.
“I wanna know...” she says
“What?”
“Why, why are you helping me?”
“Because you need help?” it sounded like I'm asking her too because I don't know the
answer myself.
“Cut the crap...nothing is free in this world....what is your real intention?”
“I....”
“Are you trying to make a move on me?”
“Huh?” Once again, I was surprised by her straight forwardness.
“Don't even think about it...I'm not in the mood to fool around and play games with you.”
“What?”
“I'm thankful for your help but aside from that, I have nothing more for you.”
She opens the door.
“You know your way out right?”
She says that calmly so I didn't feel offended at all. I nod and walk through that door. She bows
slightly before closing it.
I also have the same question for myself, why am I helping her? Is it because I often find myself
thinking about her? Am I really doing moves on her just like what she said?
