Jaejoong’s POV

As we wait for some set changes, I saw her sitting on a corner. She has this thing in her hand which I think is a script. She's on a short break but still use it for work. I decided to approach her.

            “You did great in the dance scene earlier.” I said. I'm quite surprised to see her dance and

she could actually bust a move.

Her eyes left the script and stares at me.

            “Ah...you think so? Thanks...” She answered humbly.

            “By the way, the MV came out yesterday. Have you seen it?”

            “Yeah...I think its cool..”

            “Is that a script?” Idiot! Obviously it is....I don't know why but I'm quite nervous now that

I'm trying to make a conversation with her.

            “Ah yes it is...It's a...the script to my latest drama..”

            “You mean the one with Kang Dong Won on it?”

            “Yes.”

            “I've seen the trailer last time and I think that it's going to be a hit.”

Her lips curved into a half smile.

            “I hope so.”

I could sense the hesitation in her voice.

            “We didn't get to talk the last time that we worked together. Now that we had another

chance to do so, I think we could use a little chat especially on times like this..” I said.

Athena's POV

            “Here's the script...do you need anything else?” My manager gave me the drama script that

I asked her to get for me from my things.

            “None. You can go back to the vehicle. I'll just call you if I need something.”

When she left, I started to open the thick script. I have a drama taping tonight and I decided to

read so that I could memorize my lines for later.

            “You did great in the dance scene earlier.”

I look at the person. It's Jaejoong. I'm doing a CF with him now. It's not that long since I was

featured on their MV.

            “Ah...you think so? Thanks...” I said.

            “By the way, the MV came out yesterday. Have you seen it?”

            “Yeah...I think its cool..”

            “Is that a script?”

Is he trying to have a talk with me? I thought. I don't even remember how his voice sounds like

because we didn't talk that much on the making of MV.

            “Ah yes it is...It's a...the script to my latest drama..”

            “You mean the one with Kang Dong Won on it?”

            “Yes.”

            “I've seen the trailer last time and I think that it's going to be a hit.”

            “I hope so.” I don't know if he's just saying that to make me feel good.

            “We didn't get to talk the last time that we worked together. Now that we had another

chance to do so, I think we could use a little chat especially on times like this..” He said as if he

read what's on my mind.

We had a talk mostly about work.

            “So, do you like listening to music?” he asked.

            “Hm...yeah..”

            “What kind of music in particular?”

            “Just anything. I listen to music from here and there..” I don't really have a favourite singer

or song.

            “How about JYJ's songs?” Hesitation can be seen on his face when he asked.

            “I think Boy's letter is good. I like it but I'm not sure if I already heard the other songs.” I

admitted.

            “Ah...” a mix of surprise and embarrassment was on his face.

            “No offense...maybe my choice of music is limited so it's like that..”  I said.

            “It's fine...after all, it was only a couple of years since we converted to JYJ...”

            “Converted?”

            “We were former members of DBSK...”

DBSK.....I heard that group before. I think I saw them a few times but never had the thought to

get to know them nor the members.

            “Ah...I know DBSK...Mirotic...Wrong Number...right?” I remember that I used to have

those two songs as my tones. Mirotic for my ringtone while Wrong Number as my ring back tone. I

had those songs for quite a long time before changing.

            “Yes...” he smiles widely.

            “So, why did you change your group?”

I caught another surprised reaction on his face.

            “We had a dispute with the agency...a long story...” his expression shows discomfort.

            “Seems like a sensitive matter...sorry for asking.” I said.

So, DBSK disbanded? What a waste....I don’t even know...

                        “You don’t have to be sorry for that.”

I played with the pages of my script then I saw the movie tickets placed between the pages. The

manager told me earlier to give it to him as a sign of appreciation for inviting me for their MV.

            “Kim Jaejoong sshi...this is for you and your members..” I handed over the tickets.

            “What are these for?”

            “Tickets for the premier night of my movie...that would be this weekend...”

His eyes are all on the tickets in his hand.

            “That’s an action film so I think it won’t bore you...I hope you’ll be able to come.”

            “You’re giving it to us for free? I’m really surprised...I won’t waste it so I’ll make sure that

the three of us will attend...thank you.” he said while smiling.

Then the staff called us because the shoot will be resuming.

I decided to take the stairs. Then I saw a man and a woman on the next flight of stairs. I didn’t go

down right away. It’s already late for me to go back. The guy looks like an idol while the girl seems

like a commoner. I didn’t mean to eavesdrop but I heard their conversation.

            “I told you not to come here right?!” The man’s voice is low yet irate.

            “You’re not answering my calls even my messages...”

            “How many times will I tell you that I’m busy? Can’t you see that we’ve been appearing

on different shows regularly? We also have recordings and dance rehearsals...”

            “Yes I know but I miss you...don’t you even miss me?”

            “Do you think I have the time? I barely have sleep!”

            “Then at least take this..I cooked it for you..”

            “Take it with you..We’ll eat out..”

            “But...”

            “I said take it with you!”

I heard something hit the ground.

            “See! You brought it to yourself!”

            “Oppa...”

            “Don’t dare talk to anyone here...Once a scandal appear and people would know that I’m

in a relationship, I’m sure that they’ll remove me from the group! So go now!”

I heard the door swung open indicating that the guy exited. After waiting for a few moments, I

decided to go down and pretend like I didn’t hear anything. The girl is sitting on the floor with the

foods scattered there too. She was silently crying. At first, I plan to ignore her but as I walk pass

her, a flash of memory crossed my mind. I hate to admit it but the pain and hatred came back to

me. I closed my eyes tightly as I turn back to her.

            “Are you dumb?” I asked.

She stopped gathering the wasted food and looked at me.

            “That person doesn’t care about you. He got his eyes on his career now. You don’t belong

in his world anymore so what are you doing? Are you waiting to be dumped by that moron?! Do

you think he’ll choose you over the fame that he’s having now? Well, you better wake up from

that dream of yours...People change once they get money and fame. You are nothing but a mess

that he’s keeping on his closet now. No matter how much you cry, he won’t go back to what he

used to be...so you better use those eyes to see the truth.” I couldn’t help myself but tell her

bluntly. I hate seeing pathetic girls like her who think fairytales do come true. She looked at me

with those wide eyes.

            “Use your brain.” I said sarcastically before turning my back on her but then I see Jaejoong

staring at me. Our eyes met for a moment before I decided to go.

Jaejoong’s POV

Shooting was over. I picked up the envelope with the movie tickets inside. Junsu would probably

be happy once I tell him that Athena personally invites us to watch her movie’s premier. Not only

that, she gave us the VIP seats too. I tried to look for her and luckily, I catch a glimpse of her

heading for the fire exit and then I found myself following her. I could see her downstairs so I go

down quickly to catch up on her. Do I want to continue talking to her? I remember that she got me

surprised twice over our civil conversation earlier. It was astonishing to know that there’s still a

person who doesn’t know us nor our songs...I guess, I’m just used to popularity? Anyway, it’s

justifiable since she’s a star and surely not reading the entertainment news that often. On the

other hand, I don’t know much about her too though we’re both celebrities so I think it’s quite fair.

She stopped for a while so I did the same. When she finally moves, I go down. However, I stopped

when I see her talking to a girl. She’s on the floor with her dress messed up with some food stains

and her face is wet with tears.

            “Are you dumb?” Athena asked with a hostile tone.

She stopped gathering the wasted food and looked at her.

            “Use your brain.”

I am blown away by that. How could she say such harsh words to her?

            She turned around and our eyes met. It seems to me that she doesn’t care if somebody

heard her for there’s no remorse in her face. She left and I come near the girl.

            “Are you okay?” I helped the girl to stand up. I stare at where Athena goes down and left a sigh.

            “How’s the CF shoot yesterday?” Junsu asked me.

            “It was good..good..” I said.

            “Why didn’t they ask me to do it instead? I could have done it for free..”Junsu uttered.

            “Here.” I handed over the tickets to him.

            “What’s this?” Junsu opened the envelop.

            “Tickets to Athena’s newest movie?! Did you buy these hyung?”

            “She gave it to me earlier.”

            “We are invited personally by her?! That’s great! I really want to see it…Oh! These are

not just complementary tickets but V.I.P! She’s generous!”

Obviously, Junsu is very happy with that.

            “Clear your schedules for this okay? We have to be there especially, she’ll be expecting us.”

He says with his quirky tone but no answers heard.

            “What are you doing Yoochun hyung? You’ve been fiddling with your phone for hours…

Did you download a new game?”

            “Nope…just reading.” Yoochun answered with his eyes not leaving the screen of his phone.

            “Eyy…what’s so special that you read now?” Junsu peeked into it.

            “It’s not an article though...when did you start reading?” he commented but Yoochun is too

concentrated on what he is reading that he didn’t bother to answer.

            “Is it funny? You’re even smiling…”

It must be frustrating for Junsu because nobody has the interest to talk right now. Yoochun was so

engrossed with whatever it is that he’s reading. I sat and lean my back. My mind is still on what I

had seen earlier on the fire exit.
