I cried a little when i first heard this...i mean, the remake version, even without knowing the meaning of the lyrics. to be honest, this isn't a SS501's song that's very familiar to me...i always hear the title but never/don't remember if i ever listen to it...but before i listen to Jungmin's version, i made sure to download a perf of SS501 and hear the original first...and strangely, though i am more easily drawn to live perfs, i didn't burst into tears or sth when i first heard/watch it...unlike this version that had so much impact on me, emotionally. I think the explanation is quite easy. SS501 members, some of them are really good at putting in emotions in their singing and some are really good at vocal techniques, some may be quite alright with both but nothing in particular stand out. Now, i think i don't need to say Jungmin is in which of the three categories right?
I wanted to say the arrangement of this remake also contributes...but thing is....i get so immersed i couldn't even notice much about the difference in arrangement(probly not that much anyway)...it's like this song is entirely(?) carried by the singing.
And that's not the only reason i choose to upload this version as background song to my translation...in the original version, all the chorus parts are done by Youngsaeng n Kyujong with a little Hyungjun additional(well, according to performance)...I appreciate how Hyungjun's voice added some texture bcuz Youngsaeng n Kyujong to me, has voice texture/colour that's quite similar....Hyunjoong too...while Jungmin n Hyungjun share the similar colour/texture. not to say, their voices sound the same...but the characteristics of it yknow...and let's just say i'm not the biggest fan of main-vocals type of voice...(as you can see in most kpop groups out there)...i'd have like it better if all members get to take turn sing the chorus like SS501 did in some of their songs...if you want i can make another video for the group...but i also chose Jungmin's version since he's the one promoting this song in his new album right now lol. And cuz i just happen to love his way of singing it better. Kill me (if you have to, n if you can...wait...maybe don't.)
Anyway, this song is killing meT^T...i cried a little without knowing the meaning...i cried a lil too much learning the meaning...it just hits home too close...makes me really sad...but at the same time...hopeful yet hopeless....aaahhh...a mixture of contradictions...it's beautiful. Yeah, remember when i said i won't be buying this remake album....unless the outcomes surprise me and make me want to buy it? yeah well, no luck for me...it looks like now i need all three versions(well, just two...but the regular one has gold disc...i'm a er for colours...and gold is just ugh....fabulous...damnit)
And of course, whoever want to order through me cuz you have all the difficulties to buy directly from TRJ....feel free...the more the merrier....lol. if you need tips on easy purchasing from other dealers/agents too, i can help...just ask. i feel like i'm doing more for Jungmin's album sales than other artistes i like...but that's cuz other artistes' albums can be seen everywhere n be promoted everywhere by everyone...n be easily purchased by many sites...it's not like even they get the profits much anyway...but the case is different with Jungmin i guess...you can only get his album from one place(even worse when you dunno Japanese at all) n don't have connections(like me...haha,i mean i don't have connections until i strive to find out how to get the albums even with coming across unpleasant things in the way) n the albums are by his own company...so, this is more like directly supporting him n his music so he can churn out more good stuffs....
Honestly though....isn't his music/albums are worthy the efforts n money on their own?

- 僕ら/bokura = can be we/us...look...the lyrics typically are ambiguous as to who it's addressing to...at first i thought it's 'we're staring at the star'...but after looking at the whole thing i changed my mind and thought it's the star looking at them instead...but...i can never confirm since i'm not the lyricist...lol, so don't blame me for any mistrans...many parts are a lil confusing for this vagueness of it being addressed to who...imo.
- そっと/sotto = can also be secretly/quietly...but here i just think it's referring to the brightness of the star...hence...softly...
- 悩んで/nayande = worried/troubled
傷つき/kizutsuki = can also mean damaged/wounded/injured/hurt...take your pick...
- when the line 'worrying of beng harmed'...i imagined it...as being harmed bcuz of the bright 'gleaming' light...so he looked away from the sky to shelter his eyes...so to speak...but the 'sky is hurt' = his 'dreams' are hurt to be ignored...my interpretation....
- 果てしない/hateshinai = can also mean endless/everlasting
先/saki = originally i wanted to use 'preceeding'...but somehow i end up with 'previous'...idk...the meaning isn't far fetched from each other right?
信じよう/shinjiyou = is presumptive form of shinjiru, can be 'will probably believe' but it can also use to say 'let's believe...' n i chose that one...
- 消えない/kienai = doesn't disappear...i want to use that...and make it...'the star that doesn't disappear forever'...actually i prefer that one...but i don't want to look silly since ppl might ask...but isn't it the same as 'remains forever'...fine...lol...i use the more straightforward one...
- 立ち止まり大きく深呼/Tachidomari ōkiku shinkokyū = ok so i'm really confused with this line cuz it's vague. tachidomari=stop,halt/stand still...ookiku=grandly/at big scale, shinkokyuu=deep breath....so can you imagine the ambiguousness of this for a person with zero knowledge in this language...? i word it as like saying it to someone, but i'm not really sure...
- Soe aa o miagete = this line also didn't indicate you/i...
- 作り出して/tsukuridae = create/make/invent/produce/....how in the hell did breed came up? haha, i just feel it'd fit the meaning....be reminded that a lot of instinct goes in my blind translation...and bcuz it follows the line 'at first everyone just long for it'...it's like....the dream is something people only think could remain a dream/longing...but then the feelings grow stronger....aka...breeds...uhh....ok. whatever.../runs/
- 誰とも/dare-tomo = no matter who/whoever/anyone...but in this context, i chose nobody...
- nobody's resemble each others' = might look a lil winded...it's referring to nobody's [Dreaming Star] is the same with other people...
