I began n ended translating for Winter Love with my fav song from the album...it's been quite a ride, but i'm happy i ended it with a completion. i'm a lil overwhelmed now. but looks like now i can really move on to other different artistes, i'll always remember park jung min's lyrics as the kind of lyrics i feel kind of...confident? to translate...n feeling like i can always relate to the feelings. Well, it's time to go out into the wilds n meet the unknown n unpredictable new challenges?....huh...i make this sound so dramatic...i guess i feel a little heavyhearted....eh....
anyway, this song lyrics kinda remind me of 'Now'...see it for yourselves n maybe you'll get what i'm sayin? :)
Notes:
- The first line is long winded bcuz i'm trying to be as literal as possible...but basically it means "I hope we can remain just friend....nothing more..." aka friendzoned/rejected. So, if you notice the inverted commas...it's a speech...which in this case...is his line to the person who confessed to him. He rejected this person.
- The 'back then you wanted me but now i want you'....is basically...short version of...back then you're the one who wanted me but now i'm the one who want you...i think it's this part '원했었지만'...that told that this person wanted him in 'past tense' aka...it's ended for this person...which is why there's 'now' so their position/dynamics in the relationship have reversed/went opposite way now...
is it hyungjun?haa, serves you right jungmin!excuse me.../runs/... - '나도' - i think many know this means 'me too'....i'm not sure if it can also mean just 'I'...some translation said so but most don't...but after trying to understand...i'm guessing...he's referring to this other person's previous confession that he rejected...and he's saying that he too is going through the same struggles now...poor thing but....serves you right....:p.../runs again/
- '부끄러운 고백들을' - i think...it could also refer to 'shy confession'...BUT....in this case...i put shameful bcuz....i feel that he's ashamed that he rejected this person n right after that, starts growing feelings for this person...n now trying to confess after how he reacted to the confession he received from this friend n how their relationship turned awkward bcuz of it.
- i love the wordplays though...like the repeating hide/hidden and the repeating worry...makes it cleverly interesting...
- and random but if you notice in the video one part was blurred n decolored into black n white in the middle of the line...yeah...that's purposely done to show the lyrics' state of mind, worries n shame...haha...
