Since this is my first time translating for his song, i'm kind of nervous...cuz what if i do it all wrong? but ahh, oh well...i love it so much that i still wanna try it.
Notes:
- 떠나가도 - can mean 'to leave'...i think in context, more or less it's separating...but can also mean literally as parting ways.
- 그땐 - referring to 'then'/the past...so, 'that time' = the past
- 'uncertain bubbles' - i meant it as uncertain like bubbles...but of course, i successfully jumble up my own words...-_-
- Together we had intended to cross it = We had intended to cross it together...ahh, what is with my structures, as if my grammar isn't problematic enough...-려 i read that it means 'intended to' n with additional of -하다 it could be 'do what they intended to aka tried'...although online translator led to 'tried'...but in my interpretation, they wanted to cross it, but didn't...
- in conclusion, i think the last line is saying that now he wants to cross that river, even though in the past he wanted but didn't...that, or either, he's just expressing his wishful thinking.
- Either way, i'm too scared to interpret his meaning of the song, bcuz it could be about relationship separation, heck it could be death, so many possibilities, but you can interpret on your own. For me, there's just a certain (very)charming subtle romanticism...
and yes, i teared up again listening to this before i started translating cuz it's just beautiful...psh...
