I told ya i'd make a post for my favourite song pre-kpop rite?

Here i am keepin' my words.... :)

I think if you compare my prekpop fav song and my postkpop fav song....you might find how my taste really is...even i am surprised by the similar features, and the fact that both have similar elements of one sided love lmao.

To be honest, it surprises me how I still could memorize every word in the song even after so many years, albeit, it's easier to remember words from my own language's song...it still is amazing for me...

The title is Cinta Misteri...directly translated as Mysterious Love...some may argue Secret Love or something would sound better...but the meaning could go off according to context i think...this is a really old song from 1997...woot for oldies gems....i was a kid back then /coughs/...

This song, has always been my favourite song. It was taken from OST/original soundtrack of a sequel Malay film, Puteri Impian 2(Princess of Dreams/Dream Princess 2),1998 but it was originally featured in the first movie, Puteri Impian, 1997 as a duet song between the singer here/the lead female character in the movie and a guy(the composer, though many mistaken it as the lead guy...hah), composed by Azman Abu Hassan and lyrics by...if i'm not mistaken, Aziz M.Osman, director of the film(if you plan to watch the movie, the director is the one who cameod as y guy with wife and kids in the elevator who tried to hit on the heroine but got scolded lol). While the premise of factory girl who had her dream to be a princess come true through reality show-meeting real prince and realizing how out of place she feels in all the royal hooplas may not seem all that....it's definitely eons better than most of generic arranged-marriage/contract-marriage/blabla lame Malay films n dramas these days, the character is relatable and endearing, and Amy Mastura showed very natural and heartfelt acting, she won Best actress and also Most popular actress awards through this movie. Another of my fav would be Baginda, also released the same year by the same director, seeming like the typical underdog school movies you can find....but executed very brilliantly and heartwarming without being annoyingly cliche despite all the familiar plot points. Back to Puteri Impian, yeah i used to watch this movie everyday when i first bought the VCD...XD....apart from the dreamy yet rooted to the ground story and characters, and having my favourite singer acting out the main character, what made me love it even more, was the awesome songs that filled the movie. I have the cassette lol. (well, i have most of Amy Mastura's older albums) and the OST album is definitely one of her best. for me at least. Which I think could/should be credited as well to the great team up of the composer n lyricist.

And Cinta Misteri, is my favourite song, not only from the album, but also ....yeah, my favourite song. Even though I have tons of Amy Mastura's older songs that i freaking love as well. This one just takes the cake. or biscuit. or whatever....nasik. karipap. cekodok. lol. way to make self hungry huh

Maybe after this i'll try translate my favourite Indonesian songs? Idk... Well, i had phases in life, the time when i listen to English songs mostly, then to Malay songs, then to Indonesian songs...then I got into kpop and kjpop.

This song just has so much feels tbh...and I hope to share it with more people.

It's not entirely direct translation....i tried to keep in context/accordingly to my understanding...

Some notes though....

• Tidak pasti apa yang kutemui - I think the real meaning is Unsure of what will I find? Even though in the Malay lyrics there's no....'will'....i just get that impression...but i end up going with the one closer to literal...'Uncertain of what I found'
• Cinta mengubah haluannya - Cinta=love, but here, i feel it's referring to heart...because the next line talk about love again, as if love searching for love....so i interpret it as heart looking for love.
• Walau bukan yang sejati - Sejati - can mean true...as in...true love....but i want to emphasize more on the meaning of it....so i use genuine...
• Pesona kasih di ilusi - actually i'm not sure if it's di ilusi or diilusi....i keep feeling it's the latter...but that would be weird bcuz di ilusi=in illusion, and diilusi=to be illusioned....yeah i doubt anyone's reading anyway...so i'm a lil confused how to explain but feel free to ask if interested....i chose the one felt more likely...bcuz i don't think she'd want the love to be illusioned....more like wanting her illusion to become reality...
