Despite my dislike for shallow lyrics with no depth/story...now i'm realizing how difficult it is to actually make malay adaptation of an actual meaty lyrics. But since i've been getting into The Boyz..and i'm in love with their songs, i thought i want to do some for their stuffs too...i didn't make the lyrics a direct adaptation, especially noticeable in the title...Tattoo in Malay is 'Cacah'...i don't think that word would sound that impactful to deliver meaning, well, in malay i think you can also use 'tatu' but i prefer words that are actual malay words. also...cultural context wise...i prefer to not use tattoo even if it delivers the meaning of the song...i see the tattoo in the lyrics as a symbol of pain of being rejected/ostracized/hated/oppressed for being different. All the pain become tattoos they couldn't get rid of...so, with that in mind...i look for another impactful way to interpret...and came up with Arang...which translates to charcoal/coal....different meaning entirely, see? but...arang is dark....it has an image of blackened residue of pieces of wood that has been burned...in that vein, i see it just as impactful, and it would easier rhyme with other lines, since i love my rhymes...of course, to pay homage to original lyrics...i still include the word 'cacah/tattoo' in some parts...this is far from direct translation although i always say i don't do direct translation...but you'll see it in the lyrics below.

* if you notice, the chorus hits most differently than original if you look at it line by line, since tattoo and charcoal...totally different subjects...but ultimately it tells the same line of narration...
