I leaned scrubbed my face vigorously as I let the mostly hot water run over me. This was getting out of hand. I was, on technicality supposed to be far away from them but there was too much raw emotion in our relationships.

Finally after my fingers started to get a little pruney, I left the shower and dressed. I came out of the room and Pan ni was sitting cross legged on the bed staring at the floor in deep thought. “Are you afraid your cover is blown?” I asked. She jerked back to reality and sighed. “No. It doesn’t matter if he finds out. There is nothing to hold on to.” She said and I shook my head. “If you believe that lie that just came out of your mouth, then you really are lying to yourself.”

She glared. “Stay out of it.” she said and I shrugged. “I have enough of my own problems.” Before my could touch the seat someone knocked on the door. Pan ni and I threw a look at each other. Daniel would have just walked in, it was definitely one of the boys. The question was…which one?

I sighed and went to open it. It was Woohyun. In truth, the one I was most hoping it was not was Woohyun. I felt like I’ve been through the most with him, and he made it so clear to me how he felt before we were taken. Finding out I was working for Shadow…I don’t know what that would have done to him. He didn’t seem angry, or upset. Just very withdrawn and that was scarier than him angry. “Meet me in half an hour at the garden.” And without waiting for me to reply he walked away. I closed the door.

“Are you going?” Pan ni asked. “Yes, I have nothing to be afraid of.” I said. “Do you want me to go with you?” she asked. “No, I don’t need to be coddled, and besides I don’t think you know how you are going to react when you see Dongwoo.” and she chewed on the inside of her cheek.

So I shrugged and dried my hair before leaving the room.

I took my time and when I got to the garden, Woohyun was already sitting at the mini patio. I walked up to the patio and sat down across from him. He turned his body and faced me. “So what is it?” I asked. He slid a present box over to me. It was blue and silver wrapping paper with a light purple bow.

“What is this?” I asked. “I wrapped it after you two were taken so that I can give it to you when you came back after Celestia realized she made a mistake in taking you two. But, I guess we all made mistakes.” He said voice even, calm, giving nothing away.

I looked at the present, I didn’t know what to feel. “Its not a bomb, if I wanted to kill you, there would be other ways.” He added when he saw my expression. I shrugged and opened it. Even before the wrapping paper was completely off I already knew what it was. It was the shirt I wore when we painted the mural together.

I touched the fabric between my fingers. “It is yours anyway.” He said and he got up. Surprised I looked up. “Woohyun.” His name left my lips before I realized it. He seemed just as surprised.

“Are you mad at me?” I asked. What a stupid question.

“Mad? Mad that you lied to us for so long? Mad that you played with our feelings, my feelings? Mad that you took whatever we gave you and smashed it back at us? No I’m not mad, Minji. I’m furious. But no matter what questions I throw at you in anger, you’ll just blow them off. So I’m not going to bother. You were always good at hiding your feelings.” He said and turned to leave.

I flinched. “But, why don’t you just man up and ask?” I automatically shot back. He stopped, turned around and walked right up to me. I looked up at him defiantly. I wasn’t going to let him make me speechless.

“Did you feel anything for me?” he asked, and he was so close I could smell his minty breath. “It was a mission.” I answered. He scoffed, his expression turning annoyed. “That’s your shield, isn’t it? Just throw that sentence out there every time we ask you that question.”

I was about to open my mouth to retort when someone pulled Woohyun back. “Hyung, stop.” Sungyeol said.
