A Night With Jung Daehyun

Aish! That Jung Daehyun!

“YAH! JUNG DAEHYUN!”

“If you keep shouting my name, they’ll hear us!”

“THEY’RE RIGHT BEHIND US, YOU DIMWITTED IDIOT!” I yelled back in frustration, growling as I kept running. We were still being currently chased by fans, but a handful of them were chasing Zelo and Yongguk. Few fans went to see Daehyun and Youngjae, so we were a bit safe.

I’ll repeat, a bit safe.

They were about ten fans still coming after us, ready to tear me and Daehyun to shreds.

“DAEHYUN OPPA! STOP RUNNING AND I’LL HUG YOU!” A fan shouted, causing Daehyun to slow down his run.

“Don’t you dare stop, you turtle. We’re going to be mauled, and-“

“She wants a hug!”

“AND I STILL WANT TO LIVE! LET’S GO!” I grabbed his wrist firmly and yanked him to ran faster. The fans screams grew louder and louder. We rounded the corner and faced a dead end. It was nearing night time, and only one street lamp was on.

“Great, we’re going to die!” I exclaimed, hitting Daehyun’s shoulder. I panted, trying to regain the breathe that I lost.

“In the dumpster.” Daehyun beckoned me with his finger, climbing in the empty dumpster. I wrinkled my nose at the smell. It wasn’t my plan to hide in a dumpster.

Thankfully, the dumpster was empty. Unfortunately, if the fans slams the dumpster door open, they can see us.

“In the corner,” Daehyun mumbled, shuffling to the darkest corner of the dumpster. I followed my him and sat with my knees against my chest. I felt an arm on my shoulders, pulling me close. I didn’t hesitate to lean my head on his shoulder. In other circumstances, I would’ve chopped his arm.

However, it was nice to know someone was in the same situation as me. The fans screams increased as one fan opened the dumpster.

“THEY’RE NOT HERE!” She yelled, slamming the dumpster shut. I sighed in relief, waiting for the fans footsteps to die. Once we can’t hear those murderous rhinos, we climbed out of the dumpster.

“WE’RE ALIVE!”

“You won’t be after I’m going to-“

“Oh lighten up, my Namu. We’re not dead, which is a good thing. Let’s buy some clothes, I’m starting to smell.” Daehyun smiled brightly and started skipping on sidewalk, whistling. I shook my head and laughed lightly. I followed the awkward turtle.

“You always smell, turtle.”

“Don’t start,”

“I wasn’t going to,”

“Don’t lie,” Daehyun countered, sticking his tongue out. I laughed a bit too hard, clutching my sides. At times like this, I really like this awkward turtle. We passed by a shop that sells couple clothes. It was the only shop open around the area. Was fate this persistent?

“Er, should we-?”

“I guess,” I answered quickly. Daehyun nodded before opening the shops’ door. We stepped inside the cozy shop, examining the clothes that were on the rack. I felt my cheeks burn as I saw a shirt that had a picture of a turtle and puppy on it.

Something’s fishy here.

“May I help you?” An elderly voice reached my ears as I turned around. She smiled sweetly at me as I bowed respectfully.

“Hi auntie. We’re here to buy some clothes.” I smiled warmly at the elder as she beamed back, clapping her hands.

“You two look so adorable! I know exactly what you guys should wear!” She squealed as she disappeared behind a door. I scratched my head and looked at Daehyun confusingly. He shrugged and held up a black sweater. It was a size too small for him, but that sweater would’ve fit his godly bo- I mean body. Excuse me.

“Here you go!” The auntie said happily, handing me a grey sweater with Pucca and Garu on it, you know, that crazy chick in that TV show where the girl chases the boy obsessively. Daehyun received the same sweater too, but with Garu smiling at Pucca.

I distinctively remember that Garu only smiled in one episode. His character is much like Daehyun, I have to admit. Cold, heartless, and unwillingly to let someone in their life, most likely a girl.

Pucca, however, was obsessed with Garu, but she was still true to herself. She also knew how to fight for love.

“Should we change?” Daehyun asked stupidly, which I snorted at.

“No, we should just buy this and go home.” I rolled my eyes at him as he flashed me a glare. I went towards a fitting room and closed the curtain. I took off my filthy t-shirt, leaving me with only my bra.

I stared at the long gash mark that traveled from my chest and down to my belly button. I winced as I remembered how painful it was, and who caused it.

“Are you- Oh.” I turned around to see Daehyun red in the face, staring at my chest in a weird way. My eyes widened.

“YAH! Get out, ert!” I exclaimed, pushing him out the fitting room and hurriedly putting on the sweater. I muttered angrily as I nearly ripped the curtain, stepping out of the room. Daehyun was still red in the face, but he was already changed in his sweater.

“Sorry,” he mumbled quietly, blushing a bit more. I tried to stay mad, but nowadays, it seems to be a bit hard. I sighed.

“You’re forgiven,” I stated as he smirked at me.

“But that doesn’t mean you can escape my wrath later,”

“YAH!” Daehyun pouted sadly. I heard the auntie laugh as we both looked her way, looking like two confused toddlers.

“Thank you, auntie. We’ll pay for it now,” I said brightly. The auntie shook her head and waved her hand.

“You don’t need to. You two would make a great couple, Namjoo and Daehyun. I hope you understand those characters in your sweaters. I hope you would realize your true feelings for each other.” The auntie smiled before disappearing behind the door again,

Okay, that was the freakiest auntie I have ever seen.

“I guess we should get going. It’s getting cold outside.” Daehyun shuffled his feet to the door, followed by me. We finally got outside, smiling and happy.

“We should really get home now. Yongguk hyung is going to flay us alive, and purposefully bring us back so he can do it again,” Daehyun warned as I kicked a pebble that was in my way.

“Dude, you have a whole night to do whatever you want. Do you want to go back to the dorm and sleep soundly, or do you want to have the time of your life?” I asked, stopping him in his tracks.

“The first option sounds pretty good to me,”

“Daehyun,” I whined, glaring at him. The only chance he has in going anywhere he wants and he turns it down. What the f-

“Fine, where do you want to go?” Daehyun gave in, shoving his hands in his sweater. I grinned evilly and started walking.

“Do you like extreme rides Daehyun?” I asked mischievously.

~

“I’M GOING TO KILL YOU NAMJOO!” Daehyun screamed as we dropped down from an unbelievable height. I threw my hands up in the air and grinned cheerfully. Yes, we decided to hit Lotte World. B.A.P went there once, but Daehyun refused to ride all the rides. He said it was ‘too extreme’.

Too extreme my .

The rollercoaster came to a halt as I climbed out of my seat, bouncing on my heels. I turned to Daehyun who looked sickly green as he stepped out of his seat, walking like a drunken person.

“Yo turtle, are you okay?” I asked as we stepped off the platform of the ride. I giggled a bit as Daehyun nodded his head a bit too excessively.

“Should we just take a break from the rides? Can we go to the haunted house or something like that?” Daehyun asked, his voice a bit tired. I sighed and looked around in terror.

“Haunted house? Can we just go home?” I asked, my voice small.

“So, you’re scared? Let’s go then.” Daehyun smirked evilly as he grabbed my hand, hauling me to the haunted house that was nearby. I gulped and felt my heart race. I was scared of the haunted house, but I was a bit too happy to hold Daehyun’s hand. Don’t blame me, blame my feelings.

“Two tickets please. One for me, and one for my lovely and scared girlfriend here.” Daehyun wrapped one arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him, beaming at the girl who was selling the haunted house tickets.

“Aren’t you Jung Daehyun from B.A.P?!” The girl asked, smiling like an idiot. Jung Daehyun flashed her a smile before unwrapping his arm around my waist and getting the tickets the girl was handing out.

“Yes, are you a BABY?” Daehyun asked conversationally, grinning at her. I frowned slightly at the interaction. Something in me wanted to pull Daehyun halfway across the world, just so that she can’t see him again.

“Yes! I’m your BABY!” The girl squealed excitedly, getting out of her stall. That’s when I took necessary action.

“Let’s go! Thanks for the tickets, but we need to get going! See ya!” I saluted her before dragging Daehyun by his shirt sleeve to the line of the haunted house. I huffed and crossed my arms, feeling annoyed. Daehyun seem to note this.

“Aww, is my ‘girlfriend’ jealous?” He cooed, pinching my cheek playfully and beaming at me. I snarled and pushed his hand away.

“In your dreams,”

“Dreams can sometime become a reality,”

“Just shut up, please?” I asked exasperatedly as the line started moving. I was getting scared by the minute. Yes, the fearless Namjoo isn’t that fearless at all. I’m terribly afraid of supernatural things. Ghosts, urban legends and stuff like that scare the living daylights out of me. Daehyun didn’t need to know that, even though he might’ve figured it out already.

We got to the entrance of the haunted house. The guide was letting pairs go in. I can feel my hands sweat, my appearance turning pale. I was going to brave through this. I’m going to show Daehyun that I’m not scared.

If only it was that easy.

“Okay. You’re about to go in, are there any questions?” The guide asked, smiling at us. I was about to ask where’s the exit when Daehyun started to talk first.

“Nah, we’re good. I’ll be sure to take care of my love here.” Daehyun winked at the guide and the guide, who was a guy by the way, nodded knowingly. He gestured us to step in the house. There was no backing out now.

Daehyun and I simultaneously stepped in the dark house, the door closing behind us.

I gulped and tried to keep my sanity. We walked slowly, me glancing at my back so often my neck started to hurt.

Daehyun chuckled at my behavior.

“You’re scared, aren’t you?” Daehyun asked teasingly, moving his arm a bit to indicate how hard my grip was on his right arm. I let go of it quickly and cleared my throat.

“I am not. Now, if you would stop this childish act and-“

“EECCCCKKKK!” A girl screamed from somewhere, scaring my soul. I practically jumped on Daehyun’s arm and closed my eyes. I wanted to block out the screams, but it was useless. I waited for Daehyun’s teasing.

“You really are scared?” Daehyun asked quietly, which I heard perfectly fine despite the screams. I nodded a small one. Daehyun led me towards the door with the sign, ‘EXIT’ on them.

He pushed the door open and stepped outside once more in the amusement park. I breathed out a sigh of relief as I my lips, hoping that my blood circulation didn’t stop from my frozen state awhile ago.

“You want ice cream?” Daehyun asked brightly, clearly trying to change the subject. I nodded weakly and smiled gratefully.

We walked towards the nearest ice cream shop. I started browsing through the flavors of ice cream as I found my favorite one.

“Vanilla please,” I told the ice cream salesman brightly. He nodded and put two scoops of vanilla ice cream on a cone, handing it to me. Daehyun got the same as me.

He was about to pay when the salesman shook his head and returned the money.

“You two look like you’re having fun. You don’t need to pay, continue enjoying yourselves. He’s a keeper.” The salesman winked at me as I blushed.

We exited the ice cream shop, our ice creams joyfully.

“What is it today? Give Daehyun and Namjoo Free Things Day?” Daehyun joked, shoving what’s left of the ice cream in his mouth. I chuckled and finished my ice cream in a more well-mannered way than Daehyun.

“Should we go to the ferris wheel? You know, like what cliché couples do in the end of the day?” I joked, laughing a bit. Daehyun rolled his eyes and playfully pulled me in the line of the ferris wheel.

Again, we tried paying for our tickets, but the cashier didn’t accept the money, and instead, gave us free access. We shrugged and got on one compartment. The ferris wheel started moving up, and after about five minutes, we reached to the top.

The ferris wheel stopped suddenly, making me jerk. I looked down to see some people arguing. I guess we’ll be up here for awhile. I could almost see me in a Korean drama, acting this scene out. Of course, with Daehyun, but I decided not to take the risk of making my heart explode from either happiness or embarrassment.

“I guess we’re going to be here for awhile. What do you want to talk about?” I started talking; realizing the words that came out from my mouth was a bit lame.

“I want to talk to you about why people started doing stuff for us for free. First, was the auntie that gave us this free sweater Then there was ice cream man that gave is ice cream for free. Do you know what this means?” Daehyun asked seriously, staring me down.

I laughed uncomfortably and stared everywhere but at Daehyun.

“That the world is going to end?” I asked, trying to lift up the mood. Daehyun shook his head and slumped on his seat. I glanced at him wearily. I didn’t want to know why we got free things today. I didn’t want to confirm these confusing feelings yet.

It was too much to bear.

“I rather not question why they did it, though. I’d rather be grateful than obsess over it like a certain someone.” I stuck my tongue out at him as he smiled a small one.

“You’re weird, Namjoo. Anyway, why does Jaehyun call you puppy?” Daehyun asked out of the blue. I shrugged as I felt the ride moving. We were descending. Well, it was great while it lasted.

“I don’t know. He says I’m too happy and too moody, like a puppy. I also call him kangaroo, because he’s too cheerful and bouncy for his own good.” I chuckled as I remembered the first day we met.

“Then why do you all me turtle?” Daehyun pressed on. I smiled at him, deciding not to give out the whole answer yet.

“Let’s just say, I really like you.” I smiled and gave him a thumbs up. After a few moments, I realized what I said. Daehyun started laughing hysterically at my bright red face.

“YAH! Jung Daehyun! I didn’t mean it like that!” I protested, punching him repeatedly in the arm. He, however, didn’t mind.

“Sure you didn’t mean it like that, love.” Daehyun grinned again, making my heart melt into a puddle.

Should I just accept my feelings?

Should I just accept the fact that I like this awkward turtle?

Daehyun grinned once more before taking my hand and dragging me out of the ride, saying something about buying me a teddy bear if I prank Jongup tomorrow. I laughed at his childishness.

Admit it out loud, or not, you couldn’t help but really like this human.

I guess… I do admit it.

“Jung Daehyun, what have you done with me?” I whispered quietly, though loud enough for the world but Daehyun to hear.

A/N: Hello! *waves* I hope you liked this chapter! I'm deeply sorry if it's really long and... boring. Haha. I wanted many DaeJoo moments, and I hope I succeeded. Please don't hesitate to tear me to shreds if there were little interactions between them.

Thank you again to those who subscribed, commented and supported my story? Without you, I wouldn't have the will to continue this story. I LOVE YOU GUYS! :D

BapFanticLover: I agree. It's either the Fields of Punishment or Charon won't let her hop on the happy ferry ride to the Underworld, lol. Yes, I am into Greek shizz. I personally love the Percy Jackson series, and I'm currently collecting The Heroes of Olympus series too.
