(Flashbacks)

"Unnie, where are you all going?"

A small girl stood by the door as she pouted and observed how her two elder sisters were busy putting on their shoes.

"We're going for our tuition classes." One of the girls answered as she stood up.

"Is Eunjin-unnie going to be there too?" The little girl asked as both girls shrugged their shoulders.

"Yuri, Yoona. Are you girls ready to go?" A man's voice was heard from inside the house as both girls answered him. Soon, their father appeared with their mother beside him. "Wow, you girls are faster than me in getting ready. Seohyunnie, why are you pouting?"

"She's sad that she can't follow us." Yoona answered as Seohyun nodded her head.

The man smiled before he squatted so that he would be on the same level as his youngest daughter. "You're still small, Seohyun. Once you're older, you'll have to attend tuition classes too."

"But I want to see Eunjin-unnie. I miss her." Seohyun answered as she continued to pout.

"Well, maybe I'll ask Uncle Han if he could drop by our house after the tuition classes had ended." Mr Kwon suggested as Seohyun nodded her head in agreement. "Let's go, girls"

Mr Kwon left the house after waving goodbye to his wife and youngest daughter. Yuri and Yoona held hands as they followed their father out. Both of them were attending extra classes every Saturday for 4hrs and Mr Kwon would usually be the one sending them to the tution centre. Kwon Yuri and Kwon Yoona were just one year apart with Yuri being the eldest daughter at 10yrs old. Kwon Seohyun was only 6yrs old.

The 3 girls were close to Han Eunjin since their fathers were working colleagues. Mr Kwon was in-charge of the logistics at the car workshop where Mr Han worked as a mechanic. Both of them had been friends since 5yrs ago when they started working together. Since then, their daughters had been hanging out together often.

5hrs later, 3 girls were seen leaning against the wall of their tuition centre while enjoying their ice-creams. They were waiting for their fathers to pick them up.

"Are you coming to our house later?" Yoona asked the girl beside her.

"I'm not sure, Yoongie." Eunjin replied since her dad didn't informed her about anything.

"Seohyunnie misses you." Yuri replied as Eunjin smiled. "And I need help with my maths assignment. Have you completed yours?"

Even though Eunjin was the same age as Yoona, she was in the same class as Yuri since she was born in January. Yuri had always asked for Eunjin's help in their school assignments.

"I've done mine. I'll help you out if my dad plans to stop over at your place." Eunjin answered as Yuri gave her a thumbs up.

(Flashbacks)

"How did you even end up so high up there, Yoongie?" Eunjin shouted to the girl who was clinging on to the metal pole, looking really afraid to even look down.

Eunjin was on her way home from school with Yuri when a girl, whom they recognised as Yoona's classmate, ran up to them and informed that Yoona was in trouble. Both of them dashed to the playground nearby where they saw Yoona, being stuck at the highest point of the playground structure. Yoona was crying by the time they arrived as Eunjin immediately told Yuri to go and get their mother to the playground since Mr Kwon was still at work.

"Jinnie, I'm scared. I feel like I'm going to fall." Yoona continued crying as Eunjin looked around to find anything that she could use to help Yoona. "I can't hold on any longer. My hands are slipping."

Eunjin started to panic. There was nothing around for her to use to help Yoona out and she was not sure how long Yuri would take to come back with Mrs Kwon. Looking up at where Yoona was, she decided to take the risk.

"Hold on for a while. I'm coming up." Eunjin said as she quickly find her way to climb up the metal structure to where Yoona was. It was only when she was nearer to Yoona that she noticed the poor girl was actually shaking hard from fear. "I will turn my back around and I want you to slowly climb to my back."

Yoona shook her head since she was not willing to let go of her hand from the metal pole that she had been gripping.

"Kwon Yoona, listen to me. Trust me, okay. I will bring you down safely. The longer you wait, the faster you will fall down. Just trust me. I promise to get you down safely." Eunjin tried to persuade as she reached out her hand for Yoona to grab it.

Eunjin manage to change Yoona's mind as she adjusted her position to ensure that she was stable enough. Turning around to face her back towards Yoona, it felt like ages as Eunjin waited for the girl to be totally on her back. Lucky for her, Yoona was not heavy. She's actually one of the skinnest girl in her class. As Eunjin made her way down slowly since she didn't want to endanger Yoona, she could feel her strength depleting. Even though Yoona's not heavy but Eunjin was not that strong also. Clenching her teeth and tightening her hold on the metal poles, Eunjin endured everything to ensure that Yoona would get down safely.

They were almost reaching the ground when Eunjin suddenly felt her back becoming lighter.Thinking that Yoona had fallen off, she turned behind just in time to see Mrs Kwon grabbing Yoona and placing her on the ground. Mrs Kwon was about to grab Eunjin too when Eunjin's hands slipped and the girl  fell to the ground instead.

"Eunjin!!!"

"Jinnie!!!"

"So that scar was when you fall down after saving Yoona?" Sunny asked as I nodded my head.

"I fully agree with you about Yuri not being good in her studies. This tanned monkey is only interested in the girls in campus than her school books." Taeyeon commented as Yuri pretended to strangle her.

"Shut up, midget." Yuri answered back.

I smiled as I looked at their interactions. The four of us were gathered at Sunny's office after Yuri found me at the workshop earlier. Yuri had been telling Sunny and Taeyeon about our childhood memories especially about how I got the scar above my right eye. As I listened to Yuri's stories where she explained to me about her friendship with Taeyeon and Sunny, I found out that the 3 of them had attended the same university and were helping each other out to take care of the workshop.

"I wasn't around for the past 4 days since I was helping Appa with his shop. One of his workers fell down the stairs and had broken his leg. I think he needs at least 6-8 weeks to recover which is why I suggested for Sunny to look for another mechanic to help Taengoo with the workload." Yuri explained as I continued to nod my head.

"Are you always this quiet?" Taeyeon suddenly turned to look at me but before I could say anything, I was intercepted by Yuri.

"She used to be more talkative than Yoona." Yuri said as I chuckled at her remarks.

"I prefer to listen now." I replied as I smiled a little. "Furthermore, I don't really have much people around me to talk to."

Yuri was about to ask me something when her phone rang. She showed me the name on the screen and press the speaker button before answering the call.

"Yul-unnie!!!! What do you mean Eunjin is with you? You're not talking about Han Eunjin right? As in Eunjin who saved my life? My genie."

Even before Yuri could say anything, she was bombarded by Yoona with a lot of questions, causing the rest of us to laugh at her reactions. Yoona was startled when she heard our laughter and continued to nag at Yuri for putting the phone on speaker mode. She threatened to hang up the call as Yuri pushed the phone to me.

"Annyeonghaseyo, Yoongie." I said as there was an abrupt silence on the other end. "Yeoboseyo?"

"Oh My God!! Jinnie!!!!"

I grinned widely when I heard the familiar nickname that Yoona used to call me when we were young. Both of us stayed silent after that shout from Yoona.

"Yah!! Why are you so quiet? How come you're not asking me about how I've been doing for the past 14yrs? I was expecting you to be bombarding me with questions." Yoona continued nagging as I imagined her pouting.

"I'm sorry, Yoongie. I'm just feeling overwhelmed at the moment." I replied.

"Yul-unnie!!! Bring her to the cafe now. I want to see her. I'll ask Seohyun to drop by too. Let's have a reunion." Yoona asked as I handed the phone back to Yuri.

After 10mins on the phone, Yuri ended the call and turned around to face us.

"Yoona wants us to gather at Soo's cafe. Are you all free?" Yuri asked as I nodded my head before turning to face Taeyeon and Sunny who nodded their heads too. "Great. I can drive all of you there."

The moment I heard that, my breathing skipped. "I'll ride my bike. I'll follow you from behind."

"Don't worry, Eunjin. Yuri will drive us back to the workshop later since my car and Taeyeon's car are here too." Sunny said as I shook my head quickly.

"It's okay. I'm fine with riding." I smiled and hoped that they would agree with my suggestions.

"You ride?" Yuri asked me as I nodded my head. I could feel that Yuri knew about me hiding something from me but she didn't question further. "Show me. I've always wanted a bike but Appa doesn't allow me."

All of us stood up and exited Sunny's office. It was already almost to 9pm and the workshop had been closed for the past 2 hrs when all 4 of us walked out. They followed me to the side alley where I had parked my bike. Even Sunny was surprised since I didn't parked my bike in the workshop. I explained to her that I didn't dare to park inside as I was still not an employee of hers.

"Do you have a spare helmet?" Yuri asked as she walked around my bike to take a closer look. "This is Daelim Roadwin R125, right?"

I nodded my head at Yuri's sentence. "I don't have a spare helmet with me right now. But I do have one at home."

"You should bring me around for a ride one day." Yuri said as I continued nodding my head.

"Daelim is a local brand. Why didn't you get Honda or Yamaha?" Taeyeon asked as I told her that it was cheaper to use a local brand and easier to find the spare parts for repairs.

Taeyeon nodded her head in agreement as I noticed that Yuri had a frown on her face. Before Yuri could say anything, Sunny told us to make a move since Yoona was already waiting for us.

30mins later, I was engulfed in a tight hug by two girls whom I had not met for the past 14yrs. A surge of emotions threatened to burst out of me as I fought back the tears in my eyes. Even as Seohyun sobbed in my shoulders after Yoona distanced herself away from us, I continued to have the smile on my face.

It took us another 10mins to calm down as Seohyun grabbed my hand and led me to the table where everyone was waiting. I looked around and noticed that there was no customer in the cafe. One of the girls must have noticed my actions as she informed me that since it was a weekday and almost to closing time, not many customers were around.

"I'm Choi Sooyoung, by the way." The girl stretched out her hand for a handshake as I quickly grabbed it. "The owner of this cafe along with Yoona. I've heard a lot about you from her."

I was surprised that Yoona had been telling Sooyoung about me until Yoona whispered something to me.

"For a minute there, I was wondering why Yoongie was telling you stories about me. But now I understand. You're her girlfriend." I said as I saw Yoona blushing.

"Yoongie? Is that her nickname?" Sooyoung asked as I nodded my head. "That's cute."

Since I was the new one among all of them, Hyoyeon and Victoria introduced themselves to me. After the introduction, I found out that Victoria and Sooyoung were actually classmates with Taeyeon, Yuri and Sunny in the university. Even though Sooyoung was actually a year younger than them but since she was born in February, she had to start education a year earlier.

"Just like me. I'm a January baby so I used to attend the same class as Yuri even though I'm the same age as Yoongie." I explained.

Hyoyeon and Yoona were classmates too and along with Sooyoung and Victoria, they had decided to open the cafe.

"So my little Seohyunnie, I believe you should be in your 3rd year of university right? Since you're 21 this year." I turned to ask Seohyun who was seated beside me.

"That's right. I'm taking a degree in political science and I'm planning to study until I receive my PhD." Seohyun answered with confidence.

"Political science? As expected of Seohyun." I said with a proud smile. "At least one of the triplets is good in her studies."

"YAH!!!"

Yuri and Yoona shouted at the same time and pouted while me and Seohyun laughed at their reactions.

"Triplets?" Sunny asked as I explained to her that the 3 of them had looked similar when they were younger.

"Even though Seohyun was the maknae, she grew very fast and was almost the same height with her elder sisters by the time she was 7yrs old." I said as Seohyun informed me that she was currently the tallest among the Kwon siblings.

"Yul-unnie is the shortest." Yoona quickly commented as Yuri rebutted by saying that both of them were the same height. "Even Eunjin is taller than you."

"Soo, you have a competitor. Yoona used to have a big crush on Eunjin." Yuri suddenly changed the topic as Yoona glared at her. "Actually both of my sisters have a huge crush on Eunjin."

Sooyoung suddenly turned to look at me with a fierce look, causing me to be startled before she broke into a grin.

"It's okay. She has already admitted to me about that. A few months after we started our relationship, Yoona told me about her childhood friend whom she had a big crush then. Yoona also told me about the playground incident." Sooyoung explained as I nodded my head. "Since she had not met you for the past 14yrs, I didn't actually feel any jealousy but now, looking at you, I feel a little insecure."

"Wae?" Yoona turned to face Sooyoung who was pouting. "It was just a crush and that was years ago. I have you now."

Sounds of disgust were heard among the rest of the girls as they pretended to barf at the cheesiness.

"But she's tall." Sooyoung said as she pointed at me. "You told me that your ideal type is someone tall and slim."

"You forgot the important part. She needs to be a shikshin like me. Eunjin is not a shikshin." Yoona said. "Even though I have to admit that I was surprised with her height. How tall are you, Eunjin?"

After I told them that I was 169cm in height, I heard groans coming from Sunny and Taeyeon while Sooyoung was excited since she was 1cm taller than me. I chuckled when they started complaining about their heights.

"How did you grow so tall?" Taeyeon asked as I told her that I enjoyed doing sports, especially basketball. "Damn. If only I played all those sports."

"You can't. You're PaperTaeng." Sunny commented as she started to elaborate about Taeyeon's character who loves to laze around.

"And you can't grow tall because you've got heavy assets." Taeyeon pointed at Sunny's s before the rest screamed 'byuntae' at her.

"If you love basketball, you might want to get to know Amber." Hyoyeon said as I had a frown on my face since it was the first time I heard that name. "She's not here right now. She's our part-time staff and only here during the weekends. She loves to play sports too, especially basketball. Just like you."

I nodded my head and said that I'll be glad to get to know her so that I could ask her for a game or two. Hyoyeon and Victoria then left to clean up the kitchen and counter since it was time to close the cafe.

"Eunjin-unnie, you've not been talking much about yourself. What happened to you all this while? Do you know how worried me, Yoona-unnie and Yul-unnie were after we heard what happened years ago?"

I looked at Seohyun, who was the one who asked me that question as I took a deep breathe before breaking into a small smile.

(Flashbacks)

"How come Eunjin-unnie doesn't come to our house anymore?" Seohyun asked when the Kwon family had just ended their dinner.

"I don't see her in school also." Yoona also voiced out her thoughts.

"She's actually been missing for the past 2 weeks." Yuri was the last one to chip in her comments.

Mr Kwon looked up with a slight sadness in his eyes. Seohyun noticed that both her sister were also looking at their father, waiting for an answer.

"Dear, I think it's time we should inform them. Eunjin is their friend. They need to know too."

Mrs Kwon's words made Yuri and Yoona turned from looking at their father to looking at their mother. They sensed that something was not right while Seohyun still had a confused look on her face.

"Uncle Han's family was involved in a fatal accident 2 weeks ago." Mr Kwon announced slowly as Yuri and Yoona looked at their father in shock.

"What does fatal means?" 7yrs old Seohyun asked as Mr Kwon stared blankly at his youngest daughter.

"Fatal accident means that the person or people involved in it, had went back to heaven." Mrs Kwon answered sofly as Seohyun nodded her head.

"So Eunjin-unnie has not been coming because she went to heaven?" Seohyun asked innocently.

Mr and Mrs Kwon realised that Seohyun was still too young to fully understand the whole situation so they decided to just end the conversation. From the way both Yuri and Yoona were staring at him, Mr Kwon understood that they wanted to hear more from him so he told his wife to put Seohyun to sleep first.

While Mrs Kwon brought the maknae to her room, Mr Kwon gestured to his other two daughters to follow him to the living room.

"Is it true, Appa?" Yuri instantly asked the moment the 3 of them had sat down at the couch. "That Eunjin had went to heaven?"

Mr Kwon smiled a little and shook his head. "Eunjin survived the accident. But her parents didn't."

Gasps were heard between the two young girls who automatically covered their mouth. They had grown fond of Mr and Mrs Han since both of them were very nice and caring towards the Kwon family. Tears filled their eyes as they hugged each other. Yuri was already 11yrs old while Yoona was 10 so they were able to understand the situation better than their little sister.

Mr Kwon sighed as he looked at the reactions of his daughters. He too had the same reactions when he heard the news from his boss two weeks ago.

"Where's Eunjin now? Does she know about what happened to her parents? Who is she staying with? Can we go and visit her?"

Questions were being bombarded to Mr Kwon the moment her two daughters calmed down as he continued to sigh.

"No one knew where she is at the moment. Even the people at my office doesn't know. The last news that they heard was that Eunjin's grandmother had came to take her home, a week after the accident." Mr Kwon informed his daughters.

"Eunjin's grandmother? Does that mean she went back to Japan?" Yuri asked as she turned to look at Yoona.

After Yuri retold everyone about the talk that her Appa had with her and Yoona 14yrs ago, silence filled the atmosphere as everyone was shocked to find out about what happened to my parents.

"Did you really went back to Japan?" Yoona, was the one who broke the silence as she looked at me.

"I did. Until Grandma passed away 4yrs later." I bite my lips as I tried to control my emotions in. "After that, I was instructed to return back to Seoul by Harabeoji."

Everyone had a confused look when they heard my explanation, except for the Kwon siblings who looked shocked.

"Your Harabeoji? As in The Harabeoji?" Yuri asked as I nodded my head. "I thought he hated you?"

"Well, he still does. But Halmeoni was there for me. Most of the time." I said as I smiled a little when I saw the continuous confusion in everyone else faces. "I think I need to explain the whole situation to everyone. About my family background. My mum is a Japanese while my dad is Korean. I'm their only child. I call my dad's parents as Harabeoji and Halmeoni while my mum's mother as Grandma. My mum's father had passed away even before I was born. My mum used to be a teacher while my dad works as a mechanic at the same workshop as Appa Kwon. They were good friends, which explains how I got to know the Kwon siblings since I will usually hang out with them when the two families meet up."

"No wonder you're good-looking. You've got mixed blood." Sunny commented out of the blue as I shyly thanked her for the compliment.

"Yah!! We're listening to a sad story right now. What's with the sudden flirting?" Taeyeon flicked Sunny's forehead as the girl flinched in pain. "Sunny told me that you were mumbling about your dad when you wanted to apply for work at the  workshop. You wanted to be like him?"

I nodded my head in agreement. "My parent's marriage didn't get the blessing of Harabeoji. From what my mum had told me before, my dad was disowned by his own father because he didn't want to go through the arranged marriage that Harabeoji had planned for him. My mum met my dad while he was working at the workshop. Harabeoji thought that my dad refused the arranged marriage because of my mum. He didn't know that my dad met her a few months after he was disowned. Harabeoji hated my mum, which resulted in him indirectly hating me. The only time that I met Harabeoji and Halmeoni was during my parents's funeral." I stopped to pause as I looked up when I felt the warmth in my eyes. "After my parents passed away, Grandma asked me to stay with her in Japan so that she could take care of me since I was only 10yrs old at that time. But she was not well herself and sadly, she passed away 4yrs after I came."

"So you came back to Seoul since 10yrs ago?" Seohyun asked as I nodded my head. "You said that Harabeoji instructed you to come back so does that mean you stayed with them?"

"I didn't. I was sent to a boarding school the minute I came back here. Halmeoni was the one who wanted me to come back. Unlike Harabeoji, she was more caring and was the one who looked after me. She will come over on weekends to my boarding school to check on me and bring me delicious food to eat." I explained further.

"Why didn't you go out and look for them?" Sooyoung asked as she pointed to the Kwon siblings.
