Chapter 93

Hard But Easy

"Congratulations."

From a distance, I observed the crowd walking out slowly from the hall as they gave their wishes to the newly wed couple. A smile appeared on my face when I saw Yoona's blushing expression when she was teased by one of the guests.

A hand made it's way to my arm as I turned to my side where Krystal was standing.

"Why are you smiling? Feeling proud?" She asked as I nodded my head.

"Yoona was like my own little sister. Along with Seohyun. I'm glad she found someone who loves her and will take care of her."

Our conversation stopped when Halmeoni and Harabeoji appeared in front of us as the four of us made our way towards the exit. Halmeoni and Harabeoji took their turns to say their congratutory messages before shaking their hands.

"I guess next will be Eunjin's turn."

I heard Appa Kwon commented to Harabeoji who laughed and nodded his head.

"I hope so too. At least before I close my eyes." Harabeoji answered with a laugh.

Even though I knew that he was saying it in a joking manner but there was truth in his words. Knowing that made me let out a sigh unintentionally.

"Wae?" Krystal asked as I pulled out a smile and shook my head, telling her that it was nothing. "Are you sure?"

Once again, I nodded my head as I walked up to Sooyoung and Yoona to congratulate them before Krystal did the same thing. The four of us made our way to the carpark together since I'll be sending my grandparents home.

"Will you be staying the night?" Halmeoni asked as I told her that Krystal and I would be going out later for a post wedding party for Sooyoung and Yoona.

"I'm not sure what time it will end so most probably, I'll be going back to my own place."

Halmeoni just nodded her head without saying a reply before she looked out of the window. I'm not sure why but I felt that she was a little disappointed with my decision for not sleeping over. I kept glancing to the back through the mirror but Halmeoni continued to face the window until we reached their house. Krystal came out of the car to assist Halmeoni since the Kia Sorento was a little high for the elderly lady while I opened the door for Harabeoji.

"How's the workshop? Will it be ready for the opening next week?" Harabeoji asked as both of us walked side by side towards the main door.

"Yes. The renovation is complete. Just need to do some cleaning up and waiting for the tools and equipments to be delivered over the week."

"That's good. By the way, if you have some free time, come over and visit us. Spend time with your Halmeoni. She has been telling me that she misses you." Harabeoji patted my shoulders as I nodded my head.

We said our goodbyes to both of them before making our way back to the car. We needed to wash up and change our clothes for the party later so we headed back to the apartment first.

Krystal's POV

I saw Eunjin's reaction when I heard Harabeoji's comment at the wedding hall earlier. I was reminded about the conversation that Yuri-unnie had with me after she received the phone call from Halmeoni about a week ago. When Halmeoni asked the question about staying over the night and Eunjin replied that she was not doing so, I also noticed the change in Halmeoni's expression.

"Do you want to grab anything before we head home?" Eunjin's question caught me off guard as I didn't reply to her immediately and just stared blankly. "So?"

"Oh... nothing.." I blinked my eyes rapidly and shook my head vigorously, causing Eunjin to look at me with suspicion.

"Are you okay? You looked a little lost. What's on your mind?" Eunjin asked as she started the engine before the car made it's way out of the garage.

"Halmeoni seemed a little disappointed that you were not sleeping over."

"I know. I sense that earlier. But we are not sure what time the party would end later and I didn't want her to wait up for me. That's why I said no." Eunjin explained her decision as I just nodded my head. "Harabeoji told me that Halmeoni had been telling him that she misses me. He told me to spend my free time by visiting them more often. But currently, I'm swarmed up with the preparation for the workshop's opening and maybe right up to the week after it. With Twin Towers reputation, Sooyoung and I are anticipating a good response for the cafe."

"Maybe Halmeoni is bored. I'll come over after work to spend more time with her so that she has someone to talk to beside Harabeoji."

"Are you sure about that? You might be tired to travel to their place after work. I don't want to trouble you." Eunjin replied as I smiled at her.

"It's not like I'm going to walk to their house from my workplace. I'll be driving. Furthermore, I miss spending time with Halmeoni and Harabeoji."

"Okay. In that case, you can drive the maserati to work." Eunjin's suggestion caused me to shake my head as I told her that I'm too nervouse to drive such an expensive sports car.

"I'll just use this car and you can drive the maserati. Maybe I can bring them both out to dinner or visit you at the workshop one of those days. So I definitely need to use the bigger car." My reply caused Eunjin to chuckle as she nodded her head in agreement.

We didn't talk much as we were nearing the apartment. After parking the car, both of us made our way to the lift lobby. While waiting, Eunjin took my hands and entwined our fingers together. She was smiling to herself while staring at our entwined fingers so I asked her why she was smiling.

"I'm just feeling thankful for your presence in my life. Anyway, thank you for offering to spend time with Halmeoni on my behalf." She said as I shook my head causing her to frown at my reaction.

"I'm doing this because I want to. You still need to find time to spend with her because she misses you. So technically, I'm not doing this on your behalf because I'm not your replacement. I'm just helping you as your fiancee."

The smile on Eunjin's face grew wider than before as she leaned in to give me a peck on the lips.

"Arraseo. I'll find the time for that."

************************

"I'm so sorry that you guys had to delay your honeymoon for a week because of the workshop opening. I tried to rush them for the completion but that's the best that they could do."

Sooyoung smiled at me and patted my back. "It's okay. It's not a big deal. Futhermore, delaying the trip for a week seemed to be a good thing because we avoided the peak period so air tickets were cheaper and so was the accomodation. So it turns out to be a good thing."

2hrs ago, the girls had gathered back at the hotel lobby where the wedding was held earlier. Sooyoung had booked a private room and asked the hotel management to arrange it like a pub. So at one corner, there was a mini bar with a small stage beside it. Hyoyeon had brought along her DJ set so she has been acting as one since we arrived, playing those cool songs that the girls had been dancing to.

"Why aren't you dancing? Since you arrived just now, you've been spending time sitting at the couch watching the other girls dance." Sooyoung asked as I just chuckled.

"I'm not good at dancing. Even that time, a few years back, when we went to the club, I was still not dancing. Remember?"

"You mean the one where Amber suddenly confessed to Krystal but you weren't there to hear it?" Sooyoung teased me as I nodded my head with a pout. "Anyway, how's Amber? I've not heard about her since she resigned from the cafe."

"The last I heard, she followed her girlfriend, Ailee, to LA for some charity work. I've not seen that kid for some time too. Talking about her, reminds me of those times when she was going after Krystal."

"Everything happens for a reason. It just makes things more worthwhile, I guess." Sooyoung commented as I agreed to it.

We continued talking about the workshop and went through our plans with regards to the opening next week.

"Yah!! Both of you. How long more are you planning to be stuck to the couch?" Yuri shouted at us over the loud sound of the music.

Sooyoung and me kept waving our hands and shaking our heads to her, gesturing that both of us were busy at the moment as I saw her walking up to Hyoyeon. Soon, the music faded off slowly as Yuri took the mic.

"I'm a little pissed off right now because we have two friends in here, who are busy talking about their new shop when we are suppose to be celebrating. They left their partners to dance on their own so do you think we should punish them for their selfishness?"

Loud cheerings were heard from the other girls, especially from Yoona and Krystal. Yuri continued to ask what kind of punishment they should give us and Yoona requested for a song.

"Well.. we have a request from the bride herself. So my dear sister-in-law, will you be accepting your punishment from your wife? Just a quick tip. It's not a good idea to go against a Kwon." Yuri said with a chuckle as Sooyoung turned to look at me.

"I'll sing along with Eunjin." She replied with a cheeky grin.

"Mwo? Wae? It's not even my punishment." I replied defensively as Yuri asked Krystal about her punishment for me.

"Since Yoona-unnie wants to hear Soo-unnie sings and she needs Eunjin's help for that, I will request for Eunjin to help Soo-unnie out."

The crowd clapped in excitement as Sooyoung meronged at me while I just rolled my eyes at her. Both of us made our way towards Hyoyeon as we discussed what to sing. Hyoyeon helped by looking for the minus one of the track song that we chose.

"I've been wanting to sing this song since I saw Yoona at the wedding hall earlier. So I'll be dedicating this song to her. I'm not really a good singer so Eunjin will be helping me out with it. Thanks in advance, Eunjin." Sooyoung commented and patted my back as I just smiled.

(Imagine this is the song that Sooyoung and Eunjin performed)

After the song ended, another loud applause was heard before Hyoyeon started to resume her duties of being a DJ. Both me and Soo didn't made it back to the couch as Yoona and Krystal pulled us to the dancing area.

The party continued for another two hours before all of us decided to end it at around 2am. By then, almost everyone was already exhausted but we did enjoyed ourselves. After we bid farewell to the newlywed couple, who will be staying the night at the hotel, the rest of us made our way to the carpark.

"Hey Yul, how about you and Sica stay over the night at my place since it's nearer? I can see that both of you are already exhausted and a little tipsy. We can just use my car to go back while we leave your car here. Tomorrow morning, I can send both of you here to take your car back." I suggested to Yuri since their place was the furthest compared to the rest of us.

Yuri agreed to my suggestion since she was already feeling sleepy and Jessica herself was trying her best to stay awake. The four of us left the hotel carpark in my car and proceed back to my apartment for the night.

************************

"Morning, Soojung." Jessica greeted her sister who was busy at the kitchen before she took a seat at the dining table.

It was obvious that Jessica was still feeling sleepy as she kept yawning and stared blankly at the breakfast spread in front of her.

"Hi Krystal." Yuri's greeting was way more energetic than Jessica's as Krystal waved back before she carried a jug of juice to the table. "Where's Eunjin?"

"She had to leave for the office. Something urgent came up." Krystal replied before sitting down opposite her sister while Yuri sat beside her wife.

"Office? You mean the workshop?" Jessica asked as Krystal shook her head before mentioning the word 'Hanjin'. Jessica blinked her eyes for a while before nodding her head. "For a moment, I forgot that she's still the owner of that big company. What happened?"

"I don't know. Eunjin was helping me out with breakfast earlier when she received a call from Uncle Park. After talking on the phone for about 10mins, she came back and told me that she needed to go down to Hanjin to settle some matters. She also informed that she's using the maserati, just in case both of you needs me to send you back to the hotel to fetch your car."

"I think I knew what happened." Yuri said as she showed something on her phone. "Someone from work tagged me this video."

As Yuri played the said video, the 3 of them watched in intent. It was a short video of a container vessel with parts of it on fire. A clear view of the word 'Hanjin' was also seen across the vessel.

"Krystal, can you switch on the TV? Maybe the news will report on this matter." Yuri said once the video ended as Krystal made her way to the living room. "Do you think I should go back to the office?"

Jessica looked at Yuri and shook her head. "I don't think the vessel is even in Seoul. Even if you go back to the office, what are you planning to do? If they needed your assistance, your colleagues would have called you back from your leave."

"I guess you're right. Poor Eunjin. She must be feeling stressed right now. That fire doesn't seem big enough but I could see a few containers on board affected by it. If the owners of the containers were to sue Hanjin for the damaged good, it might affect the company one way or another. She's already preoccupied with the workshop and now, this had to happen."

The voice of the news broadcaster brought their attention to the TV where Krystal was already standing at the side, watching it. The headline across the screen informed that a Hanjin vessel had caught fire while making it's way out from a port in Eygpt. The video on screen was the same one that the girls had watched on Yuri's phone but this time round, it was slightly longer where it was shown that the fire had been extinguished with the help of the ports authorities.

"It was lucky that the fire didn't spread to the whole vessel. That would have been worse." Krystal commented as Yuri agreed. "I hope the situation is not that bad. Eunjin didn't even managed to eat her breakfast."

Krystal let out a heavy sigh as she made her way back to the dining table to join her sister and sister-in-law. No one said a word until the sound of Krystal's phone broke the silence.

"Hello, Eunjin?"

"Krystal, I'm not sure if I can be back by lunch. After this call, I'll be going for a meeting with the board of directors and Uncle Park. Don't wait for me. Go out and have lunch with your sister and Yuri, okay. I'll keep you updated once I'm done." Eunjin said over the phone.

"The incident about the fire had came out on the news. Is everything going to be okay? Will you be okay?" Krystal asked in a worried tone.

"Everything will be fine. Don't worry. Anyway, Harabeoji is here. I need to go. Take care, okay."

Eunjin ended the call even before Krystal could reply to her. Pouting at the phone on her hand, Krystal leaned back into her seat.

"What did Eunjin say to you?" Yuri was the first one to ask as Krystal repeated what Eunjin had told her over the phone."Seems like a high profile meeting, if it's going to involve the board of directors."

"How come Harabeoji is there too?" Jessica asked as Krystal explained that Harabeoji was still part of the board of directors of the company even though he's not really playing an active role anymore. "When things happened, all the big shots will come down and the one to shoulder the blame would either be Uncle Park or Eunjin."

"Most probably will be Eunjin since Uncle Park is just the acting Director on her behalf." Yuri commented. "Anyway, Eunjin already said not to worry so we should just believe in her. What about if we...."

Yuri's words were interrupted when her phone rang and Taeyeon's name appeared on the screen. She immediately answered the call.

"Hey Taeng.... Yes, I know. I saw the news also..... She's not here. She went back to the office an hour ago... I hope so too... Later? Okay, I'll check with Sica and Krystal first and update you again."

Yuri ended the phone call after 10mins saying that Taeyeon was checking with her about the incident. Since both of them, including Sunny, were on leave until tomorrow, no one had a clue as what was going on back at the office.

"By the way, Taeyeon was asking if...."

Once again, her words was cut off by the incoming call. This time round, it was Sooyoung who had called her to ask about the incident. Yuri told her that she's not really aware about what was going to happened and the only thing she knew at the moment was that Eunjin was in a meeting with the board of directors.

"Eunjin told Krystal not to worry so much so I'll say the same thing to you. Just enjoy your time with Yoona. Eunjin would not want you to worry too, especially since both of you are still in your honeymoon period." Yuri gave her advice before ending the call. "Let's see who will be the next one to call me."

All 3 of them stared at the phone for another 10 seconds before they looked up to face each other. Seeing their own blurrish looks, they ended up laughing at their silly reactions.

"Anyway, Taeyeon asked if we wanted to join them for some shopping and maybe a movie. I told her that I'll check with both of you first." Yuri asked as Jessica seemed to like that idea before she turned to look at Krystal, who had a reluctant expression.

"I.. I... don't think I'm in the mood to go anywhere. I could drive you both back to the lobby to get your car though. Then I'll head back here."

"Instead of staying here all by yourself, you should follow us to keep your mind occupied." Jessica suggested.

"But I don't feel good going shopping when Eunjin is facing some problems at work." Krystal shared her opinion as Yuri smiled at her.

"Eunjin will understand. Furthermore, she did ask you to go out and have lunch with us. I guess she didn't want you to spend your time alone too. How about this? Let's meet up with Tiffany and Taeyeon first, have lunch and then we'll see how things go. Maybe by then, hopefully the meeting will be over and Eunjin will be able to join us." Yuri said as Krystal finally gave in and agreed to her plan. "Just leave Eunjin a message that you're going out with us. Even though she might not be able to read your message at the moment, at least she's aware and won't be worried about you being alone."

The three of them got ready and made their way out of the apartment within an hour. Initially, Krystal wanted to drive them to the hotel but Yuri suggested to just take a cab instead since it'll be a hustle to move around in two cars.

"I'll sent you home if you decide not to follow us after lunch." Yuri promised her earlier.

Tiffany and Taeyeon were already waiting for them at a Chines restaurant in the mall when they arrived. They browsed through the menus and made their orders.

"Any news from Eunjin?" Taeyeon asked Yuri the moment the waitress walked away. "Sunny also called to ask me about it and I told her everything that you had told me earlier. Just when the 3 of us took leave and are away from work, this thing has to happen."

"No one expects these kind of things to happen, Taeng. Anyway, no news yet from Eunjin. She didn't even read the message that Krystal sent her before we left the apartment. I suspect she might have switched it off." Yuri replied while Taeyeon just nodded her head.

A beeping sound was heard coming from Yuri's phone as she looked at it. It was a message from Yoona.

Unnie, where are you? - Yoona

Yuri quickly typed a reply to her sister and waited.

I saw an update of the incident through the news. They mentioned that there might be casualties on board the vessel besides damages done to almost 50 containers.  - Yoona

"Mwo?" Yuri accidentally exclaimed out loud causing the other girls to look at her with questions. "Yoona said that more reports had came in with regards to the incident through the news. There might be casualties involved besides 50 damaged containers."

"50?" Taeyeon had the same shocked reaction before she asked about the casualties. "Casualties meaning death or injuries?"

"Yoona didn't mention though. She only said that there might be casualties. So it's still uncertain." Yuri replied before turning to look at Krystal who had been quiet since they stepped into the restaurant. "Are you okay, Krystal?"

"I'm fine. Unnie, I don't think I'll be joining you all later for shopping and movie after lunch. I'm sorry."

"It's okay, Krystal. We understand. I'll send you back to the apartment after this." Yuri replied as she looked at the other girls who smiled at Krystal, showing to her that all of them understood her situation.

"It's okay, Unnie. I'm thinking of going to Halmeoni's place instead. Since Harabeoji is at the meeting with all of them, she might be lonely by herself. I'll go and keep her company instead. You don't have to send me there either since it's out of the way. I can just take a cab later and asked Eunjin to fetch me once she's done."

Everyone nodded their heads and waited for the food to arrive as they tried to talk about other matters.

"Bye, Soojung. Send my regards to Halmeoni. Keep us updated if you have any news from Eunjin." Jessica bid farewell to her sister after they were done with their lunch.

Krystal waved to the rest of the Unnies before making her way to the taxi stand. She took out her phone and noticed that her previous message to Eunjin has yet to be read. Looking at her watch, she noticed that it was almost 2pm.

'Has she eaten yet?'

Krystal had that question in her mind before letting out a sigh. She regretted for not packing some breakfast for Eunjin before she left the apartment after the phone call.

"Stupid, Krystal. Why didn't you think of that during that moment of time?" She started to nag at herself before typing a message to Eunjin.

Sweetheart, I've just had my lunch with Sica-unnie and Yuri-unnie. Fany-unnie and Tae-unnie were also there. The unnies had decided to go for some shopping and movie after lunch but I'm not joining them though. Since Harabeoji is also at the meeting with you, I decided to pay Halmeoni a visit to accompany her so right now, I'm waiting for a cab to go there. By the way, have you eaten? You didn't eat any breakfast so I hope you won't skip your lunch. Take care. See you soon, okay. I hope that everything will be fine. Hwaiting! - Krystal
