I opened my eyes slowly but had to close them again due to the brightness of my surrounding. But I heard voices. Familiar voices which caused me to open my eyes again. It was then that I saw them.

"Eunjin!! You're awake. Thank god."

I saw Tiffany crying like a baby as I tried to smile. Taeyeon was standing beside her, smiling and trying to control her tears at the same time. 

"Glad you're alive." Taeyeon said as I nodded my head slowly.

"Is she awake already?"

I heard some other voices as Tiffany and Taeyeon stood aside and I saw a man walking up to the bed. Even though I didn't know him but he looked familiar as I tried to remember if I had seen him somewhere before.

"You're the one who sang for Krystal on her birthday, right?"

'Krystal?' I thought to myself as a light bulb suddenly burst in my mind. The man standing in front of me was Krystal's father.

"Mr Jung?" I said out his name with my hoarse voice as he nodded my head. "How come you are here? I mean.. where am I actually?"

Mr Jung smiled as he explained that I was currently admitted to one of the hospital in San Francisco. My eyes widened when I realised where I was and I was about to sit up when a surge of pain caused me to grimace.

"You shouldn't move a lot. You were in a very bad shape when we found you two days ago. Dislocated shoulder, sprained ankle, scratches all over your arms and face, along with that scar on your forehead which I think might be permanent."

The moment Mr Jung mentioned about it, my hand automatically touched my forehead where the scar was. I let out a sigh as they took their seats around my bed.

"Did you see the beast that was about to eat me? That was the last thing I remembered before I out." I said in a nervous tone but was surprised when Mr Jung started to laugh. Even Tiffany and Taeyeon were looking puzzled too.

"That beast is actually my dog. Woori is a Siberian Husky. Sometimes, people mistook him for a wolf. I brought him out to the vet that day and was driving home when I had a flat tyre. I was busy changing the tyres and didn't realised that Woori had escaped from the window, wandering into the woods. I could hear his howling but I didn't dare to walk into the thick forest since it was getting darker so I had to call the rangers to me in. That was when we found you. Right by the edge of the cliff. The rangers said that you had fainted due to exhaustion and dehydration." Mr Jung explained everything.

"And also due to fear. I really thought the he was about to eat me." I said with a pout as Mr Jung chuckled at me. "But then, come to think of it, he actually saved me. If I had continued running, I might have fallen over the cliff. I have to thank Woori for that. By the way, that's a cute name for a dog. Woori means ours, right?"

"That's right. It was a name given by Krystal since the dog was a gift for her and Jessica." Mr Jung replied as I grinned.

"It feels like Krystal sent her dog to keep me safe. Even though, it's a fierce looking one and scared the hell out of me." My reply caused some laughter in the room before I turned to face Taeyeon and Tiffany. "Anyway, how come both of you are here too?" 

"After you went missing, everyone went into a frantic mode. Harabeoji sent out a search team and both of us decided to help out since Ppany had a lot of contacts in LA. But never did we expect you to be here in San Francisco instead. Luckily, one of Ppany's friend is a doctor who was currently attached to this hospital. She was the one who called Ppany when the ambulance brought you in." Taeyeon explained as she continued updating me about everything that had happened since I went missing.

"We were surprised to meet Uncle Jung while waiting for my friend to update me about your condition. Coincidentally, he's the one who had found you." Tiffany added on as I nodded my head.

"I'm glad that everything is settled for Harabeoji and Halmeoni is finally awake." I said with a small smile. "Do the rest of them knew that you had found me?"

"We called them yesterday after we confirmed that the person brought in was you. Yuri was at Jessica's apartment when I called her so I believe that Krystal's aware of it too." Taeyeon stole a quick glance at Mr Jung who just smiled at her.

"Don't have to worry about me. I'm very well aware about what is going on in my daughters' life. Even though I have yet to meet this Kwon Yuri." Mr Jung said before turning to face me. "You better get well soon so that my younger daughter would not be too worried."

I nodded my head shyly at him before a knock on the door distracted us. Uncle Park appeared with two police officers as they walked in and introduced themselves to us. They asked for permission to talk to me in private with regards to my case so Taeyeon, Tiffany and Mr Jung left the room.

Krystal's POV

It was the first time, after so long, since I felt like I had a peaceful sleep. As I stretched out my arms, I sat up in my bed and let out a sigh of relief. A knock on my door as two heads popped out from the sides, caused me to smile.

"Morning, Krystal. Did you sleep well last night?" Sulli asked as she and Luna made their way into my room.

"Better than before." I replied as they sat beside me. "I'm just glad that they found her even though I have yet to receive any further updates."

"They must be waiting for Eunjin-unnie to wake up first before updating everyone. I hope she's really okay. From what you told us, she seemed to have a lot of injury."

I nodded my head as I recalled the phone call that Yuri-unnie received yesterday.

(Flashbacks)

I had just finished eating my lunch and was washing the dishes when Yuri-unnie ran out from Jessica-unnie's room.

"Krystal!!! They found her. They found Eunjin."

My eyes widened as I placed my plate in the dryer while I saw Jessica-unnie walking out from her room towards the couch. Yuri-unnie pressed the loudspeaker button on her phone and I heard Taeyeon-unnie's voice.

"Yah, Kwon Yuri!! Hello??!! Hello?!! Aigoo.. Where did this tanned-monkey disappeared too?"

"Yah!! I'm still here. I just went to get Krystal from the kitchen. We are all gathered in the livng room now. Anyway, repeat what you had told me earlier."

"I said... that they had found Eunjin. She's currently admitted to a hospital in San Francisco. Me and Tiffany are making our way there now."

"San Francisco? How did she end up there when she's suppose to be in LA? By the way, how sure are you that the person is Eunjin?" Yuri-unnie voiced out her concern.

"The kidnappers drove her away which is one of the reason as to why we couldn't find her in LA. Ppany's friend is one of the doctor here. She took a photo of Eunjin and sent it to us but I don't think it's appropriate to show the photo to you guys. Eunjin was in a bad shape when she was brought in last night in an ambulance and she is still unconscious though."

"What kind of bad shape are you talking about? Was she disfigured?" Jessica-unnie asked the next question.

"Anni. She's still good-looking except for a scar on her forehead, some scratches on the face and her arms, dislocated shoulder and sprained ankle."

I bit my lips when I heard the condition that Eunjin was brought in to the hospital and my eyes started to swell. What kind of ordeal did she went through to have suffered such great pain. Alone and in so much pain. My tears started to flow down my cheeks.

"We will update you again once she's awake so I hope that you can pass the message to the rest of the girls so that they would stop worrying. I'll be updating Uncle Park so that he can inform Halmeoni and Harabeoji. Talk to you again, Yul. Overseas call are expensive."

Both Yuri-unnie and Taeyeon-unnie ended the call with a laugh but Yuri-unnie was surprised when she saw that I was crying. Jessica-unnie quickly became worried and wrapped her arms over my shoulders.

"Gwenchana, Soojung-ah? Why are you crying?" Jessica-unnie wiped away my tears as I broke into a small smile.

"Anni.. I'm fine. I'm glad that Eunjin is found. But I'm just sad.. thinking about the ordeal that she had gone through to be in such condition."

Jessica-unnie nodded her head, telling me that she understood my feelings. No one said anything until I excused myself to go to my room since I needed to prepare to return to the dorm since tomorrow was a Monday.

As the 3 of us started to get ready for classes, I silently prayed that Eunjin would wake up soon. Today marked the 3rd week since I last talked to Eunjin. The talk that I had regretted since that day.

Krystal was surpised when she received a call from her father that night. After greeting him, both of them had a general chat before Appa Jung asked his daughter if everything was really fine.

"Actually, Appa.. There's something that had happened recently. I met with someone nice and I think I like her a lot." Krystal bit her lips nervously.

"You like her a lot? So does it mean it's not love yet?" Appa Jung asked to which Krystal quickly shook her head even though she knew that her father won't be able to see it.

"I mean.. I... I... Appa, love is really a big thing." Krystal started to whine. "If I say that I love her but I don't deserve her, won't that be unfair for her?"

Appa Jung started to laugh as Krystal frowned. She started telling her father, everything about Eunjin, without mentioning her name. How well Eunjin had treated her and how caring she was. She also confessed about what she did 3 weeks ago when she called Eunjin to confront her about the wedding news.

"I feel so bad for not being understanding at all. She left the country soon after to settle some family stuff. Then something bad happened to her along the way and I realised how much she meant to me." Krystal's voice started to change as she tried to fight back her tears. "I'm not sure if I'm good enough for her but at the same time, I don't want to go through the same pain when she's not by my side. Do you think I'm selfish, Appa?"

"Soojung-ah, do you know what Woori did a few days ago?"

Krystal's eyes widened when she heard her father mentioning about their dog. She started telling her father about how she missed that dog so much before she paused and asked what exactly had the dog done.

"He ran off into the forest when I stopped the car to change a flat tyre. I found him near the edge of a cliff, biting on someone's pants."

"Oh no!! Did he injure the person? What was the person doing near a cliff?" Krystal asked in a panic tone.

"Anni. Actually, he saved the person. The person was being hunted down by bad people and had almost ran off the cliff." Appa Jung explained as Krystal let out a relief sigh. "Surprisingly, that person is a Korean. By any chance, do you know someone by the name of Han Eunjin?"

"Mwo?!! Mworago?" Krystal couldn't hide her shock as she gasped when her father mentioned Eunjin's name. "How did you...? I mean what actually happened? Appa, she's the person that I was talking about to you earlier. The person that is important to me. Is she okay? I heard she was brought to the hospital."

Appa Jung started laughing for a minute before he stopped and explained about what he saw when he found Woori.

"Initially, I was like you too. I thought Woori had injured the person since I found her lifeless but actually, she just fainted from exhaustion or maybe fear like what Eunjin herself said to me."

"You had talked to Eunjin? Both of you had meet up?Omo.... She's awake?" Krystal intercepted her father's sentence as she got excited when she found out that Eunjin had woken up.

"Of course we had talked. Actually, I didn't have the intention to stay at the hospital after escorting her in the ambulance that night but she looked too familiar for me to just ignore it. So I came back to the hospital the yesterday to check on her and was surprised to see Tiffany and her girlfriend there. Both of them then spent the night at our house last night until her friend called to inform that Eunjin had woken up early this morning. So we went down to pay her a visit."

"How is she? I heard from Taeyeon-unnie that she was in a bad shape. With dislocated shoulder and twisted ankle. Some scratches here and there, a scar on her forehead. Is she really okay?" Krystal asked to reconfirmed what Taeyeon had told her before.

"That's basically how she is. With additional case of dehydration and exhaustion. When I first found her, I didn't really noticed all her injuries since it was quite dark but I was totally taken aback the moment paramedics placed her inside the ambulance. I kept wondering how that girl was able to survive all that pain. Uncle Park came this morning with two officers before he left the room to give time for the officers to conduct some investigations. He was the one who had briefed me about what had happened to Eunjin for the past few days. That kid is really tough, especially after what Taeyeon told me last night. With regards to her parents."

"She's amazing, right Appa?"

"She is and I'm confident that she will be able to take care of my daughter very well. By the way, do you miss her?" Appa Jung asked in a teasing manner.

"Of course, I do. It's been 3 weeks since I last talked to her. I wish she would come back soon."

"Well, I don't think it'll be that soon though. She still needs to recover and from what I heard, she's also needed to assist the police in their investigations. They are treating it as a kidnapping case and are on the look out for the two guys. Uncle Park is working with his own team to find out the mastermind for this whole thing while Tiffany and Taeyeon might be flying back to Seoul soon. But don't worry. Me and your Omma will take care of your sweetheart."

The phone call ended with a blushing Krystal and a laughing Appa Jung as Krystal lied down on her bed, wishing that Eunjin would at least call or text her.

"Thanks for being here. Send my regards to everyone, alright. I'll get well soon and come home." I smiled to the two of them who smiled back at me. "By the way, is it possible for you to help me to pass this to Krystal?"

"Have you called her yet?" Tiffany asked as she took the envelope that I was handing over to her while I shook my head. "She must be dying to hear your voice."

"And so do I. Do you know how much I'm missing her?" I gave them a sad look before letting out a disappointed sigh. "But what can I do? The hospital wants to supervise my recovery period and I also need to assist with the investigation. Furthermore, I'll be under the police protection until the kidnappers are caught."

"I wish we could stay longer but Yuri's alone at the workshop and I had already promised Sunny that I'll be away from work for only one week." Taeyeon explained as I informed her that I understood her position. "Take care and listen to Shin Hye."

I nodded my head and grinned at the girl who was just standing beside my bed with her arms folded. Uncle Park had requested for her daughter to be in-charge of my treatment so with the help of Tiffany's doctor friend, Shin Hye transferred to this hospital to be my doctor.

"Have a safe flight both of you." I smiled as Tiffany took out her phone and asked me to strike a pose for her to take a photo. "Aigoo, my face is still full of scratches. I'm lacking the good looks now."

"I'm planning to give this to Krystal so that she won't miss you so much. That poor kid have been messaging me since yesterday, asking me about you ever since Uncle Jung had told her that you had woken up." Tiffany looked at Uncle Jung who agreed to her statement. "She was wondering as to why you were not contacting her and thought that you were angry with her. I told her that you had lost your phone during the kidnapping."

"I had explained everything to her in that letter so please ensure to hand it over to her." I placed both my hands together in a pleading pose.

"Don't worry about Eunjin. Me and your Aunt Jung will be looking after her. I did call and informed Soojung about the possibility of Eunjin not coming home so soon. I think she will understand." Uncle Jung smiled at us as we nodded our heads.

As I waved goodbye to the two girls and watched them leave with Uncle Jung, someone poked me on my right shoulder. Turning to my side, I saw Shin Hye grinning at me.

"You really love your girlfriend, don't you?" I nodded my head eagerly at her statement. "She's so lucky."

I noticed Shin Hye sighing as she pouted before turning and walking to the end of my bed, took my checkboard and looked through the documents. She told me that she'll come back in two hours time for my physiotherapy session and told me to get some rest first. I nodded my head and laid down as she exited from my room.

Meanwhile in Seoul, Krystal was daydreaming in class before Luna poked her shoulder, causing her to turn to her side.

"What are you daydreaming of?"

"Just thinking about Eunjin. Wondering if she was doing fine." Krystal replied absentmindedly as Luna smirked.

"You're just worried after finding out that Uncle Park's daughter was going to be the doctor-in-charge of Eunjin-unnie, right? You told us before about how Yuri-unnie and Taeyeon-unnie were talking about that doctor." Luna giggled a little as Krystal frowned.

Before Krystal could answer her, Sulli intercepted by asking if the doctor was pretty. Krystal took out her phone and showed a photo of Shin Hye to both of them.

"Woah... Not bad." Sulli commented as Luna asked Krystal on how she managed to get that photo.

"I asked Fany-unnie to send me her photo after I found out that she's going to be the doctor-in-charge for Eunjin." Krystal answered with her pout as both her friends for being jealous.

"Did Eunjin-unnie really lost her phone during the kidnapping? What if she's angry with you for how you've been treating her before she left the country?" Luna asked as Krystal shrugged her shoulders. "But then again, Eunjin-unnie is not such a person to hold a grudge especially towards you. Don't think too much. Just pray that everything will end soon."

It was Wednesday so classes ended by 12pm. Krystal was planning to just rest in the dorm but was surprised to receive an incoming call from an unknown number. Answering the call, she realised that it was Harabeoji on the other line.

"Girls, I'll see you both later tonight. Eunjin's Harabeoji said that he had sent someone over to fetch me. He's asking me to have lunch at his house. With him and Halmeoni." Krystal explained to Sulli and Luna who nodded their heads.

As Krystal arrived near her school gate, she saw the black mercedes car which Harabeoji had informed her earlier. She recognised one of the bodyguards that had opened the door for her and bowed her head as a sign of thanks.

It took them about 45mins to arrive at Harabeoji's mansion as she made her way to the door. Knocking on it, Aunt Nancy was the one who greeted her and led her in. The elderly lady was chatting her up brightly as Krystal answered every question that was asked of her. Both of them made their way to the dining area where Krystal saw Halmeoni and Harabeoji waiting for her.

"My child." Halmeoni smiled as Krystal walked up to her. "Have you been well?"

Krystal nodded her head as Halmeoni gestured her to have a seat and she did so while stealing a glance at Harabeoji who was busy on his phone.

"Krystal, how was your exams?"

The first question from Harabeoji caused Krystal to blink her eyes rapidly before she answered by saying that everything had went smoothly. She replied that she had tried her best and hoped that her efforts would pay off. Harabeoji continued to ask a few casual questions as Krystal took her time in answering him.

Food was served soon as Aunt Nancy brought it out with the help of some other maids. No one said anything as they started to enjoy their food.

"Krystal. I would like to apologise for the arranged marriage news." Harabeoji broke the silence as Krystal looked up to him. "I know you must have been upset about the whole matter but it was entirely my fault. I made the decision without consulting anyone, trusting the wrong person and also going through the punishment for my own bad decision."

"Harabeoji, It's okay." Krystal answered with a slight bow. "You were just wanting to protect your own company."

"I should have been more concern in protecting my own family. I believed that you are aware about Eunjin's whereabout, right?"

Krystal nodded her head as she retold everything that her father had informed her. It came as a surprise for Krystal when Harabeoji told her that he's aware of it too, especially about her father, who was the one who brought Eunjin to the hospital.

"You must have forgotten that Uncle Park is there to update me." Harabeoji laughed a little as Krystal smiled. It was the first time that she had heard him laughing. "By the way, I intend to make an announcement for the cancellation of the arranged marriage. Now that Eunjin is safe and sound, I'm ready to call this whole thing off."

Krystal nodded her head at everything that Harabeoji was telling her.

"Krystal-ah, Eunjin might take some time to come home. Because of all the recovery process that she needs to go through and also all those investigations. Will you be able to wait for her?" Halmeoni asked.

"Of course, I will."

Krystal's answer came immediately before she blushed for answering it with so much eagerness. Harabeoji and Halmeoni just smiled at her reactions before they continued eating while chatting. Once lunch was over, Krystal stayed a little longer. Spending her time to look around the house, Halmeoni showed pictures of Eunjin's father and Krystal realised that Eunjin resembled her father a lot.

"I do have photos of Eunjin when she was younger." Halmeoni said suddenly as Krystal saw the surprised look on Harabeoji's face. "I didn't tell you about it because you won't like it anyway. Jin Taek has been sending me photos of Eunjin, especially the ones on her birthday."

Harabeoji's expression turned into a guilty look before Krystal held his hand as both of them started to look through the photos together.
