Chapter 100E

Hard But Easy

"Luna, how do I look?"

The mentioned person turned to look at Krystal, who looked nervous at the moment before Luna gave her a big smile.

"You look beautiful. Don't worry too much okay. If you were not my friend, I won't want to walk beside you because I paled so much in comparison." Luna's teasing pout caused Krystal to loosen up a little as she giggled.

The two Ladies left the washroom and made their way to the function room where the award event was held. After registering their attendance, they were ushered to their table. Krystal looked around and noticed that there were about 10 tables in the room with 8 seats at each table. There were already 3 other people seated at the same table as them as Krystal and Luna bowed their heads a little as a sign of greeting.

"I'm so glad that you are here with me, Luna. If I was alone, I'll be totally lost and awkward, especially since we are seated with strangers."

"We are lucky that Eunjin managed to get Seohyun-unnie to cover us at the shop while we are here. Although I've met Seohyun-unnie a few times, I'm still in awe with her beauty." Luna rambled on but Krystal's giggle caught her attention. "Why are you giggling?"

"Because you called Seohyun as unnie but you called Eunjin just by her name, when Eunjin is older than Seohyun."

"It's all your fault. I followed your way of calling her." Luna rebutted as Krystal rolled her eyes and by saying that sometimes she calls Eunjin as sweetheart.

"So, are you going to call her as sweetheart or maybe Jagiya too?" Krystal continued to tease and Luna was about to reply when a familiar voice interrupted them.

"Krystal? Luna? What a surprise."

The two of them turned towards the direction of the voice as their eyes widened when they saw who it was. Luna leaned closer to Krystal and whispered something that made Krystal nodded her head in agreement. "I hope he's not seated at the same table as us."

"I guess we are really fated for each other. Don't you think so, Krystal?"

Without replying to any of his remarks, Krystal just watched as Jongin made his way nearer to their table and was about to sit down when one of the ushers came up to him.

"Sorry, Sir. Your seat is not here but it's at the table further up." The usher informed him politely but Krystal and Luna started to feel uncomfortable when Jongin tried to belittle the usher's instruction.

"Why can't I sit here instead? I know that most of the tables would not be fully occupied anyway, as some recipients are not attending." Jongin's tone of voice was full of arrogance while the usher maintained his professionalism and explained that he needed to follow the management instructions. Last minute changes would caused problems when receiving the awards on stage later. "Oh my god. How inflexible are you guys? For your information, I'm not one of the recipients of the awards. I'm representing one of the CEOs who was invited to attend this event. I want to speak to the person-in-charge."

"There is of no need for that."

Everyone turned to the elderly voice as Jongin's hands immediately clasped to the front. "Father." He bowed his head before his right ear was pulled by the elderly man.

"I asked you to attend this event with me so that you could learn from other companies CEO on how they managed to continue to expand their businesses and not to throw your weight around here. Go back to your designated seat right now."

It was a surprise for Krystal to see Jongin being so obedient towards his father when previously, he didn't seem to care so much about the old man. Krystal conveyed her thoughts to Luna who seemed to have heard some rumors about Jongin.

"I heard he made his father's company lose millions of dollars a few months ago due to his negligence in signing contracts with some shady companies. His father almost wanted to disown him and even sue him for the losses but I guess Jongin managed to come up with a deal or something with the father. Maybe being obedient is part of the deal."

The two of them giggled before their attention was diverted to the stage where the event was about to start as dinner was served gradually.

(Eunjin's POV)

I stood at the corner of the room as I just observed the event. The smile on my face widened when I saw her walking up the stage to receive her award. 'I miss you so much.' I thought to myself as I took out my phone and took a photo of Krystal from a distance.

"Areumdawo." I talked to myself with a big smile before I felt a soft tap on my shoulder.

"I agree." Harabeoji looked at me with a teasing smile before he gestured to me to follow him. "So is everything going as planned?"

I nodded my head as I understood what he was referring to. Harabeoji asked if Krystal knew that I was also attending the event but I shook my head as both of us continued our walk towards the exit door. Harabeoji was there to observe the event since he was one of the major sponsors. Ever since Harabeoji decided to step down from his shipping business, he has ventured into sponsorship activities and financing businesses with great potential. Although he's doing a good deed, Harabeoji didn't like to be in the limelight so he has always requested to be seated away from the stage and almost near the exit door so that he could leave the event at anytime and earlier than everyone else.

"Annyeonghasimnikka, Mr Han."

We were stopped on our tracks when we heard someone greeting Harabeoji respectfully. Turning around, I frowned a little to see a familiar face.

"I'm so glad that I managed to catch you this time round before you leave. I've been informed that you don't like to hang around at this kind of events even though you are one of the major sponsors. I've been wanting to say my thanks directly to you for your assistance in helping with my financial situation a few months ago, which prevented my company from going bust."

Jongin watched blankly as his father bowed his head again to Harabeoji before he was given the deadly glare by his father, which resulted in him bowing down awkwardly. I had to pinch the sides of my thighs while controlling myself from laughing at watching Jongin's bewildered expression after Harabeoji introduced me as his granddaughter.

"So this is the famous Ms Han, who is well-known for her creativity and meticulous ways in providing great car services and maintenances. I heard that you already owned two big workshops that has its own cafes in it." The elderly exclaimed as he reached out for a handshake, which I reciprocated.

"I'll be opening the third one soon." I knew I sounded braggy at that time but my competitive side came out, knowing that Jongin was there and also because I didn't want to miss the chance to see his shocked expression. "If you are available and interested to come, I will pass you the invitation card to your office since I don't have it right now with me ."

"I'll be really thankful and grateful for that. I will make sure to make myself available on that day."

The 3 of us continued to have small talks about business for the next 10mins while Jongin remained quietly standing beside his father. We parted ways after Harabeoji mentioned that he needed to be home soon as I companied my grandfather to his car.

"Are you planning to send Krystal and her friend home?" Harabeoji asked after he made himself comfortable at the back seat of his car.

"Yes. I did told her that I would pick her up after the event so I'm waiting for her message." I replied before nodding my head when Harabeoji told me to send my regards to her. "Send my regards to Halmeoni too. I'll come over for dinner one of these days when I'm not that busy."

"Actually, I was thinking that maybe all of you could come over for dinner on one of the nights. I think our basement is big enough to fit all of you if you all want to continue with your practice after dinner. At least, your Halmeoni could see that you are doing fine instead of asking and complaining to me every night." Harabeoji's words made me chuckled a little as he made those pouty lips.

"That's not a bad idea, Harabeoji. I'll check in with the rest of them and update you on it."

Both of us bid each other farewells as I observed Harabeoji's car leaving the carpark. Just before the car disappear from my view, my phone rang as I smiled when I saw the name appearing on my screen. After exchanging our sweet greetings, I told Krystal that I'm already at the carpark as I made my way towards my car.

Just when I was about to insert the car key, I heard Krystal's voice calling my name. Turning around I smiled when I saw her making her way towards me with Luna walking beside me.

"Hi, cutie." I stiffled a chuckle at Krystal's words. "Don't you know that it's dangerous to be alone when you are looking this hot?"

I burst out laughing at Krystal's cheesy words, especially after noticing Luna rolling her eyes.

"But I do have to agree that you are good at making something so simple looks luxurious. Who would imagine a simple plain white tee with blazer would look this good. Do you have any interest in becoming our model, Eunjin?"

I was surprised at Luna's serious tone of voice when Krystal suddenly linked her arms with mine.

"I'm not planning to share her with everyone else." Krystal meronged at her friend who ended up rolling her eyes again. "By the way, how come you are dressed like this? I thought you said that you would be from work."

I chuckled at her remarks before gesturing to both girls to get into the car first.

"This is your car too? How many cars do you have at the moment, Eunjin? I also saw that you were driving a silver maserati last month. Your previous maserati was blue, right?" Luna bombarded me with questions after putting on her seat belt at the back seat.

"Only two, Luna. I traded my blue maserati with the silver one and the Kia sorento was traded for this Genesis G80." I explained as Luna nodded her head. "By the way, Harabeoji sent his regards to both of you."

Both of them were surprised to hear it as I explained futher about Harabeoji being one of the sponsors and also about how I will occasionally accompany him to such events so that I would get to know more people from different industries and indirectlty expand my social network.

"If Harabeoji is one of the sponsors, does that mean he has a part in me getting the award?" Krystal frowned a little as she gave me a sceptical look while I concentrated on driving out of the carpark.

"Anni. Harabeoji does not get involved in the team that is in charge of listing companies that has great potential and will be good for investment. He will only know about the finalised list, maybe one or two days before the event itself. I myself was not aware until he called me yesterday to inform me about it." I explained the situation as both Luna and Krystal nodded their heads.

"Ouuhhh.. no wonder you messaged me to say that you will pick me up  without asking about the venue. It slipped my mind too until it was almost the end of the event when I decided to call you straight away, thinking that you might still be at home." Krystal slapped my arm lightly and started asking me if I had noticed Jongin around. When I nodded my head and told her about the meet-up between Harabeoji and his father, Krystal let out a chuckle. "Serves him right. He need a hard knock on the head to realise the reality."

We continued talking about random things and were almost reaching the apartment when Luna asked me about the opening of my third workshop.

"The targetted date is 22 October, which is about 3 weeks from now." I replied before slowing down the car to park it by the roadside. "Anyway, congratulations again to both of you for getting the sponsorship from the Young Entrepreneurship Award. I hope this award will motivate you both to push harder to be more successful."

The 3 of us exited from the car as Luna excused herself, to give me and Krystal some alone time.

"Want to go up for a while?" Krystal asked as I shook my head, explaining to her that I needed to wake up early tomorrow to visit the new workshop and settle a few logistics issue.

"If I go up, I might not want to leave so fast since I miss you a lot." I smiled before pulling Krystal into a hug. "I'm truly happy for you, seeing how you are making so much progress into achieving your dreams."

"And I'm glad that I have you by my side, trusting and supporting me in everything that I do. Even though at times, we were too busy for each other due to work, but this was one of the reasons as to why we took a step back in our relationship. I would not have achieved so much if you had not given me the time and space to grow on my own. The feeling of achieving something based on your own effort is something so great that I'll always be thankful for each and every step that I had made and will make in the future." Krystal paused as she looked at me in the eyes. "These past 11 months have been a wonderful experience for me especially with the exposure that I've been given. You have also managed to expand your business within this period which I'm obviously very proud of. But lately, I've been thinking more about us."

"About us?" I repeated as I noticed Krystal's eyes becoming a little watery. "Hey, what's wrong sweetheart? Is there something bothering you?"

"It's just a thought but it is not bothering me. Ever since I came back from the fashion show in LA, I'm not sure why but I've been missing you more than usual." Krystal said before shaking her head when I started apologising for being busy at work and spending lesser time with her. "No, no... It's not your fault. I know you were busy and I was busy too. It's just that there was one time when Sica-unnie came over to our place for dinner. She was complaining about work, about Yuri-unnie being busy and some other random matters. She was being upset and all but when Yuri-unnie came to fetch her home, she was immediately happy. I asked her as to why she was suddenly so happy when she was like upset about 5 minutes ago. She said she felt happy with the thought of having someone to return home to. Someone whom she can share her everything."

"Wow, Yuri and your sister are really meant to be together because I think I've heard Yuri said the same thing to me before."
