Chapter 89

Hard But Easy

It's the day that I've been waiting for all this while. With a thumping heart and a smile that seemed to have frozen onto my face, I stared hard at the arrival gates.

"Can you erase that idiotic smile on your face?" Yuri nudged me by the shoulders as I just stuck my tongue out at her. "Whipped. Anyway, are you going to bring her straight to your apartment later? She still doesn't know about the new place, right?"

I nodded my head without even looking at Yuri but from the corner of my eyes, I could see her shaking her head.

"Why are you shaking your head?"

I heard Jessica asking Yuri as she replied by saying that I looked silly with that smile on my face.

"She's just excited that Soojung is finally done with her studies and is on her way back home now. Stop being so harsh to your future sister-in-law."

The moment Jessica ended her sentence, both Yuri and I looked at each other instantly before we started laughing out loud. Jessica could only shook her head as she just observed our reactions.

"Her flight had landed about an hour ago. What is taking her so long?" I grumbled to myself as my eyes switched between watching the glass door and the monitor screen.

"It's only an hour, Eunjin. The baggage signal claim for her flight only came up 15mins ago. She should be out soon." Omma Jung smiled at me as she appeared by my side.

I could only grin in embarassment since I didn't realised that Omma Jung could hear my grumbles. Both Omma and Appa Jung had went to talk to Luna's and Sulli's parents earlier as they arrived a few minutes after us at the airport.

I was about to continue the chat with Omma Jung when I caught a glimpse of the person that I've been waiting for all this while.

Krystal walked out, pushing a trolley filled with her luggages. Luna and Sulli were walking beside her, pushing their own trolleys as they kept laughing and chatting away. It was only after Jessica called out to Krystal that the 3 of them were aware of our presence.

As they made their way towards us, Yuri stood beside me and nudged my shoulder again.

"Why didn't you call out to Krystal when she came out? I thought you were super excited about her coming home."

"I am. But I need to maintain my cool. I can't show her how excited I am when her parents are around. It's embarrasing." I explained while giving Yuri a silly grin as Yuri started to laugh at me.

Krystal's POV

"The moment the plane landed, I felt like standing up and wait by the plane door." I giggled at my own honest declaration to Sulli and Luna.

"Luckily you didn't do so. If you had done that, I would just pretend not to know you at all." Sulli answered while Luna just laughed.

"Yah! How could you abandon me at times like that?" I pouted before the 3 of us continued laughing. "By the way, what are both your plans after this? Looking for a job straight away?"

"Most probably. Unlike you who have already secured a place at your sister's company, me and Sulli still need to look around for jobs." Luna replied with a sad tone.

"I can try to ask my sister if she needs help in her company or if she knows people who can employ both of you. Eunjin could also help out since I believe she has a wider network and know more people."

By now, the three of us had already walked out of the arrival hall and were surprised to see so many people outside the glass doors. Since it was the weekend, it seems that there were a lot of people travelling into Seoul.

"By the way, did Jongin contact you again after that night?"

I was about to answer Luna's question when I heard someone calling out to me.

"Soojung!! Jung Soojung!!"

The 3 of us turned our heads to the direction of the voice and saw my Jessica-unnie waving her hands excitedly at our direction. A distance away from her, all our parents were gathered together while Yuri-unnie and Eunjin stood beside each other.

A smile immediately appeared on my face when my eyes connected with Eunjin. I could see her grinning widely from ear to ear but I wondered why did she looked as if she was trying to restrain her movements.

A sudden hug broke my eye contact with Eunjin as I hugged my sister back. The rest of the family members made their way towards us as Eunjin continued to keep her distance from me.

"Eunjin, I thought you were super excited about Soojung coming home? You were even grumbling earlier when she took her time to come out from the arrival hall. So why are you keeping your distance?" Omma's question brought my attention to Eunjin, who seemed to blush a little.

"Eunjin says that she feel shy to show her true feelings because Omma and Appa are around. I think if all of us are not here, she would have jump onto Krystal and give her a deep kiss." Yuri started to tease my poor girlfriend who pretended as if she wanted to punch her.

"It's okay, Unnie. I was suppose to run back into her arms when I touched down but my plan didn't really work out since I didn't manage to see all of you after exiting the glass doors. And Sica-unnie ended up being the one to hug me." Krystal giggled as Sica smacked my shoulder lightly.

Sulli and Luna gathered back with their parents before they said their goodbyes and left the area. I made them promise to keep in contact and to meet up soon.

"Shall we make a move too?" Appa suggested as all of us nodded our heads. "Do you all want to grab some food first before heading back?"

Once again, everyone nodded their heads instantly before I felt my fingers entwining with someone else. Turning to my side, I saw Eunjin smiling at me with her loving eyes.

"I miss you. I'm really glad that you're back."

A warm feeling seeped throughout my body as I could feel the sincerity in her words. We continued to walk at the back as Yuri-unnie help to push the trolley with my luggages on it while Sica-unnie and my parents walked ahead of her.

"I miss you too and I didn't know that you could blush so cutely." I as Eunjin ended up pouting while I giggled softly.

************************

I had a proud smirk on my face when I saw the expression on Krystal's face. She looked around the apartment with awe while the rest made their way to the living room. Krystal didn't even voice out any opinion as she walked from one room to another.

"Soojung, you should come here and see this view. It's one of the reason as to why I agreed with Eunjin's decision to buy this apartment."

I heard Jessica's voice from the living room as Krystal walked out from the master bedroom.

"I'm in love with the rooms, especially the master bedroom." She walked up to me and gave me a quick peck on my cheek before skipping cutely towards the living room.

Being kissed unexpectedly, made me feel a little giddy with excitement. As I followed Krystal's footsteps, a smile appeared on my face when I saw her gasp at the view of the sunset overlooking the Hangang river that could be seen from the living room.

My kitchen and dining area were joined together with the living room in an open concept. The whole stretched of area were partially covered with tall glass windows that had a view of the Hangang river.

"This place looks expensive. Are you sure you bought it?" Krystal turned to look at me as I nodded my head. "Why the sudden decision to move out from your old apartment and don't you think this apartment is too big for just the two of us?"

"That was what I asked her too. But after she explained to me her reason for buying a bigger apartment, I was satisfied with her explanation. She was actually thinking of the possiblity when me and Yuri-unnie or maybe our parents plan to come over to spend the night." Jessica answered Krystal's question on my behalf.

"Oh.. okay. I didn't actually thought of that." Krystal giggled at her ownself before Omma and Appa by saying that she would forget about her own family members after settling down with Eunjin. "Settling down?"

Krystal giggled at her own words before turning to look at me.

"Are you already thinking about settling down?" She asked as I pretended to think of an answer.

"If it's with you, I'm always ready." I replied as my answer was met with cheers from her parents and Yuri while Jessica just rolled her eyes.

We spent the next two hours catching up on whatever that had happened the last few months. Krystal looked at the scars on my fingers from the accident which was already almost disappearing.

"By the way, I have another surprise for you tomorrow." I turned to look at Krystal who looked at me with a slight frown.

"I think for the next few days, you'll be receiving surprises after surprises from Eunjin. So be prepared." Yuri added on as I just chuckled.

"What is it? Why don't you just tell me everything at one go? I don't like the suspense." Krystal asked as I shook my head. "Unnie, do you know anything about this?"

Krystal tried to plead with Jessica to tell her about the surprise but luckily, her sister was on my side. After failing to get any answer from everyone, Krystal pouted and folded her arms with a sulky expression.

"I think it's time we head back home. Let Eunjin handle sulky Krystal for now." Appa Jung commented teasingly as I pretended to look shocked.

Everyone left soon after as me and Krystal waved our goodbyes to them. It had been discussed before with Krystal's parents that she would be staying with me the moment she returned from her graduation.

A light smack hit me on the back of my right shoulder while I was closing the door as I turned behind. I giggled when I saw that Krystal had pouted again before she turned to walk away.

"Hey... where are you going?"

"I'm going to ignore you for the rest of the night since you have started to keep secrets from me." Krystal stopped to reply to me before sticking her tongue out as she continued to make her way to the kitchen.

"It's not secrets. It's surprises." I replied as I quickened my steps to keep up with Krystal.

As she stood in front of the huge fridge, I grabbed her around the waist and lifted her up.

She screamed in surprise before I placed her down and turned her to face me. Both of us ended up laughing at each other when our eyes made contact.

"I miss you. I miss you so much."

"I know. You told me that at the airport, remember?" Krystal said before replying that she missed me too.

"But why do I still feel like I'm missing you since you arrived?" I inched closer to Krystal until her back hit the fridge, trapping her as I placed both my arms by the sides of her head. "I've been controlling myself since everyone was around. But now, there's only the two of us left."

"So what do you have in mind?" Krystal suddenly grabbed my shirt and pulled me closer, taking me by surprise. I gulped at the sudden closeness as Krystal giggled. "Do I still make you nervous even after all this while?"

The words seemed  to have stuck in my throat as I started to cough while Krystal burst out laughing.

"Aigoo, Stupid... Why are you so cute?"

Krystal rubbed my cheeks but it was her turn to be shocked when I grabbed her hand and gave her a deep kiss.

************************

"Look who's back."

I was surprised with Yoona's loud voice the moment I opened the door of the cafe as me and Krystal walked in, hand in hand.

Krystal smiled widely as Yoona and Seohyun walked up to her to give her a warm hug. I pretended like I wanted a hug to but I was brushes aside by both sisters.

Pouting due to the rejection, I made my way to the table where the other girls were already seated. We had planned to have lunch together at the Twin Towers a day after Krystal came back.

"You both seemed very busy last night. Sica tried to call her sister for a few times but she didn't answer. I had to come up with the idea that Krystal's phone was flat and she had forgotten to charge it." Yuri whispered to me after I sat down beside her.

I blushed a little when I was reminded about what happened last night before I thanked Yuri for her clever response to her wife's action.

Yoona, Seohyun and Krystal joined us at the table soon before Victoria and Hyoyeon came out to serve us food.

"New menu? I really missed Vic-unnie's food when I was in New York. She has her unique style in cooking which you couldn't find anywhere." Krystal commented as Victoria said her thanks for the praises before making her way back to the kitchen.

"Too bad that she is going to a new place soon. She got a better offer elsewhere."

Sooyoung's comments caused Krystal to be surprised as she looked around. It seemed that she was the only one who was not aware of the news.

"Oh no. She's going to a new restaurant? Then what about Twin Towers? Have you guys found a replacement?" Krystal asked in a worried tone while Yoona and Sooyoung nodded their heads.

"Victoria has been training Hyoyeon for the past two weeks so at the moment Hyoyeon will be taking over the kitchen duties with Yoona's help." Sooyounh explained further.

Everyone started on their lunch while having small talks until it was almost time for desserts. This time round, Yoona went to the kitchen before coming out with Hyoyeon beside her.

"This is a new menu created by Hyoyeon and I loved it a lot. It'll be part of my wedding reception menu." Yoona explained as everyone cheered.

After tasting the dessert, everyone had full praises of it and agreed with Yoona's decision to have it for the wedding. While everyone was doing the tasting, Sooyoung started distributing their wedding cards to everyone.

It was a joyous lunch for two hours before all of us decided to be on our own ways. Taeyeon and Tiffany had a movie to catch while Sunny had plans to meet up with Hyomin. Yuri and Jessica would be tagging along with me since Krystal and I needed to hitch a ride with them.

"I wanted to ask you about this since just now when we were in the cab but I forgot. How come you didn't drive to the cafe? You didn't drive also when fetching me from the airport yesterday. Don't tell me you're still sufferring injuries from the accident?" Krystal asked the moment we entered Yuri's car.

"Anni. I can drive already." I replied with a smile as Jessica said that her old car which Krystal has been using all this while was no longer around.

"Unnie had to scrap it because it's too old already."

Krystal nodded her head to everything that Jessica said before turning her head to face me again.

"Then what about your bike? I didn't see it also when Appa parked his car at your apartment carpark. You can't ride it anymore or are you having some trauma from the accident?"

"Your Omma advised me not to ride for the time being. I guess your Omma is the one having the trauma." I grinned at Krystal.

"If we still had Unnie's car, I could still drive you around but since we don't have any transport at the moment, I guess we could either take a cab or we can use the subway."

"Or Eunjin could just buy a new car for both of you." Yuri intercepted Krystal as the car slowly came to a stop.

Without us realising, we had reached our destination while we were busy chatting away earlier.

"A new car?" Krystal repeated Yuri's words as she looked at me.

"Let's go." I said as all of us exited the car.

The four of us made our way towards the entrance lobby of a car showroom and was warmly welcomed by the sales girl who recognised me instantly.

"Ms Han. Welcome back. We have everything ready for you already." She smiled widely as she reached out her hand for a handshake.

I returned her handshake and just before my hand dropped to my side, an arm engulfed my arm as Krystal stood beside me.

The sales girl looked a little surprised before her smile appeared again albeit not as wide as before. She ushered us towards an office room and Krystal continued to cling her arm on mine.

"This is the order that you made. For a Kia Sorento."

The sales girl handed over a car key along with the catalogue of the car that she had mentioned. She also handed over some documents for me to look through before I nodded my head. I turned to my side and noticed that Krystal was looking through the catalogue.

"Kia Sorento? 7-seater? Red?" Krystal shot me a few questions that I had expected but before I could reply, she continued talking. "For a family trip around Korea?"

I showed her a thumbs up as the sales girl ushered us to another location. When she opened the door, we were brought to an open space with a few shining cars parked nicely.

"That's your car, Ms Han."

I thanked her before making my way to a red Kia Sorento. Krystal followed from behind, along with Yuri and Jessica.

"Nice color. But I didn't know you like red." Yuri commented as she opened the car boot to look at the ample space behind.

"It's Krystal's favourite color." I replied with a grin as Yuri mouthed the word 'whipped', which made me chuckled. By then, Krystal had went to the driver's seat and started to look around the car's interior. "Do you like it?"

"It's nice. And I love the color. But if we were to drive this everyday with just the two of us, won't it feel a little empty?" Krystal asked as I pretended to think over her words.

"I guess so. Which is why I bought a smaller car." I said with a cheeky grin on my face before turning to the sales girl and asked her if my other order was ready to be viewed.

"It is, Ms Han. The car just arrived a few hours ago. This way, please."

She ushered us to another location as Krystal still looked a little confused along with Jessica.

"You bought another car?" Jessica asked as I nodded my head before she turned to face Yuri. "You knew about this?"

"I do and for the first time, I'm jealous of Eunjin for being so damn rich." Yuri commented as she gave me a pretentious glare while I just stuck out my tongue at her.

It was only after the sales girl showed us my other car, did Jessica understood why Yuri reacted that way.

"Your other car, Ms Han. A blue Maserati Grancabrio. I'll go and prepare the paperworks for you to sign. Here's the key by the way."

As the sales girl walked away, I noticed that both Krystal and Jessica were staring at the car with their jaws dropped while Yuri was already walking around it. I giggled at them and pressed the button so that the car would change into a convertible.

"Holy . This is damn cool. Can I borrow this car once a while, my dear future sister-in-law?" Yuri's sudden outburst of exclamation caused me to laugh out loud before Krystal smacked me on my shoulder.

"Why did you buy such an expensive car? When you said a small car, I was thinking of something like my previous car." Krystal said in a rush tone.

"You don't like it?"

"It's not that I don't like it. It's super nice and cool but.. but... it's a maserati, for god sake."

I continued laughing at Krystal's reaction before I told her that it's my dream car since young.

"Before I had that trauma, I used to have a lot of maserati toy model at my home. I guess Appa loves that brand so he only bought me maserati toy models. But if you don't like it, I can always change to another car."

"Noooo...."

Yuri and Krystal replied at the same time causing me and Jessica to be surprised before the four of us broke into laughter.

************************

"I had a surprise yesterday with regards to the apartment. Today, it was the cars. Any more surprises?" Krystal asked the moment I came out of the shower.

"There is. Tomorrow." I replied with a cheeky grin.

"There's more surprises? I was just joking around when I asked you earlier." Krystal's eyes were big, showing that she was really taken aback. "How many more surprises will there be?"

"Hhhhmmmmm... I'm not sure." I replied but when I saw Krystal giving me the cold glare, I quickly lifted up a finger.

"Are you sure that it's only one more?" Krystal asked for a confirmation before I showed another finger. "Han Eunjin. I'm being serious right now."

"I really don't know. Well.. I think one is a confirmed surprise but I'm not sure if the other one could be considered a surprise also." I tapped a finger on my chin as I noticed Krystal rolling her eyes at me. "Whatever it is, you will know about it tomorrow, okay?"

I gave her totoro smile while I dried my hair with the towel. I was about to walk away when I heard Krystal's phone ringing. I saw that she seemed reluctant to answer it as she let it rang for a while before answering it.

"Hi.... Yes. I just arrived yesterday.... How's your father?.... So I guess you'll be taking over the company from now on.... Dinner? I have to ask Eunjin about it first."

Since Krystal was busy talking on the phone, I continued my way to hang the towel but I stopped in my tracks when I heard Krystal mentioning my name.

"I know it's not your fault for cancelling the dinner plans that night. I also understood that you had to fly back to Seoul because of your father's condition. But I didn't promise you anything, Jongin."

My ears perked up when I heard Krystal mentioning that name. I hung the towel quickly before making my way back to the bed where Krystal was already seated with her back resting against the headrest. By the time I was about to climb up on bed, she had already ended her phone conversation.

"Who was that? You sounded a little pissed off." I pretended not to know as Krystal replied that it was Jongin. "What does he wants?"

Krystal started to tell me about what happened a few weeks before graduation on how Jongin had asked her out to dinner.

"A few hours after calling me, he messaged me and said that he had to cancel the dinner plans because he had to fly back to Seoul. His father had a heart attack. After that last message, I didn't hear anything from me. He didn't even attend the graduation. So now, he's calling me because he thinks that I owe him a dinner."

"If his father didn't have a heart attack, would you have met him up for that dinner?" I asked Krystal who seemed a little taken aback.

"I was still trying to decide when he messaged me to cancel it. I guess it was a sign that I shouldn't even bother about it."

"Are you sure? Because from the way you explain to me, it seems that you're more incline to go for the dinner." I tried to give my opinion but was surprised to see Krystal being defensive.

"What are you trying to imply? That I was planning to cheat on you?"
