A man said.

 

“How are you? . . . Its been a while . . . “

The man said as he puts the flower on top of the rectangular stone, embedded on the ground.

“I miss you . . . . So much” The man said as a tear escape from his eyes.

“Appa!! . . . “ The man turn around and finally, he release a warm smile.

“Oh Joohyun ah! . .” the little girl quickly run to her beloved father.

“Oh, be careful . . .Where’s Eomma?”

“She said she will follow soon”

“Alright” He said as he carry her up with his arms.

“Appa, who is it?” The girl ask as she points toward the grave stone.
”Ahhh . . . She’s the woman I loved the most” he confidently said.

“Really? More than Eomma?”

“Hmmm . . . Yes” he said.

 

 

“I just hope she’s here with me now”

Baekhyun’s POV

 

“Hey Yeri, wait up, awww!” I just came back from a consultation with the doctor when Yeri suddenly pull me by the hand, and lead me to somewhere.

“Why didn’t you tell me about you and Sehun?” Yeri said as she push me down the bench.

“I’m sorry it slips through my mind , ok I’ll tell you” I said and then she excitedly sit beside me and looks at me like a kid who’s waiting for her bed time story, And so I begin.

 

It started on one morning, where everything went so awkward between us. Its almost 6am and I was already at Han River, jogging out all my frustrations.

 

“Ahh Damn Baekhyun, you shouldn’t blasted out like that, thats so not you . . .” I frustratingly said. I don’t know why I gone so mad last night, just seeing her with Sehun makes me so irritated.

“Hey, Whats up?”

“Hyung! I need advice . . .” I called up Minseok Hyung for advice, he’s good at this.

“You know what Baekhyun, actually you have no right to be mad, its your fault anyway, if you did confess earlier then you shouldn’t be paranoid right now”

“I know Hyung, I should apologize to her . . “

“You should be . . . sometimes, your jealousy is going over board, you need to control that Baek”

“I know Hyung, Thank you for answering my call, although its still early . . .”

“Oh right its still early, Did you get your sleep?”

“Actually I didn’t, I’m at the riverside right now”

“Oh Alone? You want me to join you?”

“No Hyung, I’m fine, I just need a fresh air . . . I’ll be back, in few minutes, before Taeyeon wakes up”   

“Ok, then call me, if you need anything. .”

“Alright, thanks Hyung” I was running around when I happened to bumped into Jennie, She was surprise to see me, although it was unexpected, that was our first formal meeting.

 

“Oh, Baekhyun-ssi? You are Baekhyun right? Friend of Taeyeon?”

“Ahh Yes, Wait. . . You’re Jennie, Taeyeon’s partner at the cafe right?”

“ahh haha Yes, I thought you wouldn’t know me”
”ahh I heard a lot of you from Taeyeon, so what are you doing here?”

“ahh running, like you . . .” I can see that she’s trying to avoid my eyes. I wondered why, but then I remember, what Taeyeon told me before . . .

 

“Yah!, I want you to meet someone, remember Jennie? My partner at the cafe, Can you please have time to meet her, she’s been bugging me for what? Everyday! . . . And this is our little secret, don’t tell her that I told you this . . .I think she likes you, so please?!! Meet her . . .”

 

I just smiled at that thought, she really looks like she likes me, she can’t even look at me in the eye, and she’s blushing every time she looks at me, But No! That wont affect me.      

 

“Oh Are you on your way home now?”

“Yes . ..” I shortly replied.

“Ahh can I ask you if we could have breakfast together?” she bravely ask. I know what she’s doing, she’s making the first move, but I feel sorry for her because I know I can’t return back that fascination of her, cause I already have someone in my heart.

“ahh I’m sorry, Taeyeon might be awake by now so I need to go home to cook breakfast for her”

“Ahhh I see . .” I feel really sorry for her, I don’t want to hurt her feelings but theres nothing I can do.

“Maybe we can hang out next time” she tried again.

“Ahh Jennie . .. “ I call her and she looks at me with anticipation.

“I’m sorry to say this but, this wont work . .I know what your trying to do and I’m sorry that I wont be able return that to you . .. I’m really sorry” I worriedly look at her and wait for her response.

“Ahh . . .I see . . “ I feel so guilty when she looks at me with her teary eyes.

“Its Taeyeon right?” I got surprised to what she said that I didn’t get to answer right away.

“hmm . . I knew it . .. I shouldn’t had ask this, in the first place, now I look pathetic, haha I’m sorry” and she smiled like nothing happened.

“I’m sorry Jennie, I think its better for us to be just friends” and I reach out my hand to her, I thought she wouldn’t take it, but I’m glad she did,I may have turn her down but I guess she already expected that and so she gladly accept it, and sincerely and secretly support me on Taeyeon.

 

Right after our unfortunate ending, I hurriedly ran back home.

 

“Taeyeon must be awake by now” I thought. When I entered the house, I saw  her getting busy, looking for something, and then I remembered the keys I found this morning at the kitchen counter.

 

“Ahh! . . . I can’t leave the house without that key . . .Aish!! So stupid Taeyeon!” I heard her said.

“Stop cursing at yourself . . Your keys wont come out if you do that” I said. She was surprised. I thought our awkwardness from last night would end last night, But no, seeing her this morning, makes even more awkward. She ask me things, she didn’t usually ask, but I declined. I cant afford to be this awkward in front of her, so I let her leave first, but I also followed. I just secretly follow her from a far, while thinking of how I should break that awkwardness, that I started. As I watch her, I suddenly received a call from Yeri.

 

“Yah! Whats all this issue again Byun Baekhyun? Its early in the morning and your giving a problem again”

“Hahaha, Good morning Yeri, Taeyeon called you right”

“Oh? How did you know?”

“I heard everything what you guys talk about”

“What? You heard all of it? Taeyeon said your not with her, what going on?”

“She’s right, but I am with her, watching out secretly”

“Ooohhhh, your being sneaky Baekhyun, but don’t change the topic, what is this awkwardness thing that Taeyeon has been telling me?”

“Its my fault, I got jealous again and this time I went overboard”

“Huh!, If I were you confess already so that you wouldn’t have that insecurity in you, its time to set your boundaries Baek, time is running, remember”

“I know, I’ll make a move now, but I need to break this awkwardness first, I just don’t know how”

“Thats so easy, Baek, start by being honest with her, apologize if it needs, and don’t forget to explain, because, honestly, She can’t understand you, seriously, She’s getting confuse by your actions, so better prepare now a long page confession” Yeri said.

“I know, Thank you Yeri”

“Stop thanking me now, and do what you must do, I’m getting tired of the both you, I cant be your fairy godmother all the time, Please!“

“hahaha but you love us anyway so thank you!!”

 

With that talk, I got to my senses and realized the time I was wasting. And I gradually break that wall,and slowly talk to her as if nothing happened, and I’m glad that she’s responding and slowly getting comfortable again around me.

 

After our class, we decided to have our late lunch, we were at the cafeteria waiting for our order, when I suddenly receive a call. Its from Boa Noona. I quickly head out and answered it.

 

“Oh Noona! Why did you call? Is there something happen?” I worriedly ask.
”Oh Nothing, I just called to ask you about Taeyeon? How is she doing? I haven’t called her yet since the last week” She ask and I look at her, standing at the counter getting our lunch.

“she’s doing fine Noona, you don’t need to worry.”

“Ahh Thats good, Thank you for being there with her” I smiled. Hearing her being so grateful to me, makes my heart flutter, that means, I already got her trust to take care of her dongsaeng, thats a big fulfillment for me. After that call, I head back to our table, only to be welcome by her curious look. I can sense that we’re starting to go back to being awkward again, so I started

 

“Baekhyun . . .”

“Taeyeon . . .”

 

We both said.

 

“You go first . . . Taeyeon” I said and smile.

“I’m sorry, Sorry for last night, I know I did something off to you, so . . .”

“Taeyeon, you don’t have to say sorry, its my fault, I should be the one to say sorry . . . Sorry Taeyeon”

“Hmm? . . Why? Why you?” I can see that she’s getting confuse.

 “Sorry because I got mad at you, sorry for shouting at you last night, and sorry for making you feel this guilty and awkward to me, I shouldn’t have done that. You didn’t do anything wrong, don’t think that you had hurt me, I should be sorry for making things hard on you”

“Baekhyun, why are you apologizing?, I am at fault here, I didn’t consider your feelings when I decide to get close to Sehun, I became insensitive, so I understand why you got mad”

“No Taeyeon, I was wrong there, in the first place, I shouldn’t be a bother to you from becoming friends with someone, even if he’s my friend or ex-friend. I shouldn’t interfere with your decision, its your choice”

“But why did you got mad?” she ask me, but I couldn’t get to reply ahead.She then look at me in the eye and ask.

 

“Baekhyun, tell me honestly, Is it really ok to you, for me to get close with Sehun?”  

“I told you Taeyeon, I have no right to answer that”

“Just answer it Baek”

“Will you consider my answer?” I ask and she hold my hand.

“Yes . ..” She firmly said. I don’t know why I couldn’t answer that simple question. So I hold her hand and look at her. We were in silence again, but this time, its a much comfortable silence. No words, no movement needed, with the look in our eyes, a message has been delivered, and she understand. After that talk, we quickly got back to what we were back then, having fun together, no more high cold walls in between us. Like the usual, I walk with her to the cafe, and as soon as we reach the place, someone came in time to ruin our perfect moment, its Sehun.

 

“Hi!” He greeted. Taeyeon was  quick to hold my hand and worriedly look at me.

“Its ok . . .I’ll see you tonight, Bye!” I simply said, before walking away. But before loosing them in my sight and message Sehun.

 

“Meet me at the Hyori’s Cafe, You better come or else!!!”

 

I decided to meet up on him, to set the line clear for him. After a while, he finally came.

 

“Hey, Baekhyun! Whats up?”
”Lets have a talk, a serious one” I said

“Oh OK, what do you want to talk about?”

“Taeyeon, what is it that you want with her? Why are you bothering her?”

“Ey! As if you don’t know yet Baekhyun, of course I’m just having fun”

“What? Sehun, Taeyeon is not a toy for you to play around”

“Whoah!Chill! Man! Thats what I missed about you old friend, your pissed face. Don’t worry I don’t have any feelings or any intention for your girl, she’s all your if you want. I just want to see you getting pissed off, like now hahaha.”

“What the- . . .” and I grab him by the collar and act as if I’ll punch him on the face.

“Hey, Hey relax Man!, don’t make a scene here”

“You better get serious Sehun, or I’ll really punch you in your face.

“I’m serious, I know that Taeyeon is yours Baekhyun, she’s not my type anyway. And I’m sorry for causing so much trouble between you two. I guess I’ve went too far.” I slowly calm down as I saw his rare sincerity in his eyes. Sehun is not really that , to be fair, he knows how to apologize when his at fault, but it takes him a long time for him to realize his mistake.

 

“I’m sorry Hyung, I know I’ve made so many mistake on you, I didn’t apologize yet for what happened with you and Seulgi and now I did it again with Taeyeon.”

“Well Its a good start now that you admit your mistake, just keep that up”

“So have you forgave me now?” Well with regards to what he did to me in the past, I already forgave him, I sincerely forgave him. With now, I don’t have any serious problem with him, except one thing, he’s too playfully annoying to the point that even his presence alone annoys me already, just how I acted this whole time.

“So Baekhyun, are we good now?” he said as he extend his hand to me
”huh . . . Alright! . . .” I said as I take his hand, and we finally ended our long time misunderstanding with a shake hand.

“Ahh Baekhyun, I have one problem” he started again

“Huh, What is it again? We just made up, don’t tell me your starting a now”

“Ahh Its not that”

“So what is it?”

“I need your help, I think I’m falling for Jennie”

“What?” I was surprise on what he said. I couldn’t help but to laugh at him.

“Ey Hyung, Don’t laugh at me, if only you know, Jennie is so hard to please, How can I make her fall for me, She’s so hard”

“hahah Thats what you call ‘karma’, now you’ve meet your match, goodluck!” and I laugh.

 

“Hyung!!” he protested.

“hahaha Come on, lets talk about that outside” and I stand up and lead him out to the door.

“Where are we going?”

“Irene is celebrating her new business venture, lets talk about that there”

“Oh really, well I guess, I can have an unlimited drinks for that”

“huh, Lets go!” and we head to the newly open bar of Irene.

 

“Hey Oppa, goo thing you came”

“Of course I wouldn’t miss your opening night, oh by the way, I brought Sehun with me”

“Oh really? You two are ok now?”

“Yeah, just a while ago . . .”

“Oooohh . . finally, congratulations!” and she gave me a cheering toast. We were busy chatting, when I received a message from Minseok Hyung.

 

“Hey Baekhyun, your Taeyeon is here, finally, We met her”

 

I called him right away.

“Hyung! What is she doing at the company?”

“The staff made an order to their cafe and as were eager to see her, we decided to have her deliver the order herself”

“Ahhhh . . .Well now that she’s there, Hyung! . . .Take good care of my woman , Please”

“Oh don’t worry, I’ll take good care of her, I’ll have her tour around as well”

“Oh Great idea, she is really a fan of our broadcast, specially the story of My Royal Prince”

“Dont worry about it, I’ll make sure she’ll get a glimpse of you here”

“Ey, Hyung! . .. “

“So, I’ll hang up now, See ou tomorrow, alright” and he ended the call.

“Oh Who’s that?”

“Ah Its Minseok Hyung, he said that Taeyeon is at the company right now”

“Ooohhh  . . . you mean the future madame of BHC Channel is on tour right now.” Donghae Hyung said. I suddenly got blushed, thinking about that title, makes me so happy.Kim Taeyeon, Wife of the CEO, madame of BHC Channel. I couldn’t help but to smile.

“Ehoah! Look at this guy, being so romantic guy, don’t be so happy there Baekhyun, you might end up getting rejected . . .”HyukJae Hyung said

“Hey don’t jinx that Hyung, that wont happened”

“Ooohh, being so confident that’s the spirit Baekhyun!” Hyoyeon Noona said

“Ok stop that now, Lets drink everyone, Cheers!!” and Irene toast up

 

As the party requires, I didn’t get to escape from drinking, and so I end up getting so drunk, good thing Irene was not drunk enough to get me home. As I was riding in her car, I suddenly received a message, 2 message to be exact.

 

 

“Sir Baekhyun, I already pick up Ms. Taeyeon at the bus stop”

 

“Sir, Ms. Taeyeon, already got off form my bus, she’s walking down the street now”

 

“Alright, Thank you Junmyeon Ahjussi” I replied.

“Oh  Were here! . . Who is it?”

“Ahh the bus driver, he said Taeyeon is on her way here now” I said she suddenly clapped her hands. I curiously look at her.

“You know what Baekhyun, you deserved the Best Not-yet-Boyfriend Award” She said.

“Not yet What? What are you saying?”

“Imagine, you even hired not just the bus driver but teh whole bus itself just to pick up Taeyeon, Wow that’s incredible Baekhyun, even a legit boyfriend wouldn’t think of that”

“Of course she’s going home late at night, I don’t want something bad to happen to her, so its better to be safe than sorry”

“Yeah right so you rented the whole bus, for a single passenger, that was really much of a preventive measure of yours, I can’t believe that. Doesn’t Taeyeon noticed that?”

“hmm I don’t think so, she doesn’t tell me anything about it, so I guess she didn’t mind”

“Huh, well in fairness to your girlfriend, she’s not that aware of her surroundings, no wonder she can’t notice your hidden work and feelings for her”

“Oh stop it now, Irene, Taeyeon is just adorable. Ah! My head hurts now, I shouldn’t have drink hard”
”See I told you, wait let me help you” and Irene get off the car and go to my side, and help me get off.

 

“Yah! Drive safely! Don’t use your phone while driving! Understand?” I said.

“I know, Uh! Come on, Can you walk b by yourself now from here?” Irene ask

“I can manage myself, yo can go now, Bye! Thanks for the treat!”

“Yah! Wheres my hug?” I heard Irene said, and I didn’t hesitate to walk back and hug her tight.

 

“hmmmm . . . drive safely ok, I’ll see you tomorrow,Bye!” I said

“Alright Bye Oppa!!”

“Yah! Go home now or your Dad will nag on me again”

“Ok . . . Bye Baek! Mwuah!!” and we  bid goodbye. When I entered the house, I sat at the sofa, lean back and close my eyes. It was a hectic fun day for me. I was so tired.

 

 

 

‘Wait wait . . .” I was suddenly cut off by Yeri.

“Is this the part where you two guys do that . .. “ Yeri said but I didn’t get it.

“You know, the . . .”

“The what?”

“Arggh!! My gosh Baekhyun, Do I have to tell you what they call it?” I finally understand. The make out scene.

“Yes thats the next part” I shyly said.

“Then don’t tell me that, like  . .eeewww . . . I don’t want to hear that, just jump off to the next scene” She said.

“But you wont understand the whole story”

“Come on Baekhyun, Do you think that will help me, me, being a single lady, would make me happy hearing the make out session of a, well your technically a couple in your point of view.”

“Alright, you have a point, and its embarrassing to tell you that as well, so lets proceed”

  

So after THAT part, we end up being so awkward to each other again.

 

 

I woke up early as I couldn’t get to sleep, I keep on thinking on what happened to me that I did that. I was just lying at my bed when my I heard a knock. I was hesitating to open it as it will surely be awkward so I waited, but when she knock in fro the second time, I decided to open it.

“Good morning, Taeyeon!” I greeted with smile, as if nothing happened last night.

“Ahh Good Morning?” She awkwardly said.

“Are you going out? Its still early” I ask.

“Ah yeah, I have work today”

“ahh . . .ok, Well I’ll go down and prepare your breakfast then” I said, before going down, I was so nervous that I can’t face her so I excuse myself. I get myself busy on cooking our breakfast.

 

“Oh You’re already here, your just in time, breakfast is ready” I said. I can feel that she’s trying hard to keep her laugh, well who wouldn’t I just half burn the eggs and bacon, what a perfect timing.

“I know what your doing, you don’t have to hide it, just laugh if that will pleases you”I said, and she did. I regret telling her that

“hahaha . . . I’m sorry, its just funny, you can cook any food, but still you couldn’t master frying eggs and bacon, hahaha I can’t imagine . . . ” she said.

“Ok . . . laugh all you want, but wait and see till I master this, I’ll make sure you’ll regret it, when I cook this every morning for you, just wait” I don’t know why I said that, I mentally scold myself for saying that, it just add up on the awkwardness between us. Oh great Byun Baekhyun.

 

I didn’t got to join her for breakfast as I had to leave early, Where? To prepare everything for my main event later.I have finally decided to confess everything to her tonight. I was on my way to Hyukjaes Hyung place to pick up some stuff when I decided to drop by at Yeri’s house.

“Hmm whats brings you here?” Yeri ask.

“Nothing, I just want to ask for an advice”

“hmm . . .Wait let me guess, something happened again last night, right?” I couldn’t help but to smile, remembering what happened.

“Oh how did you know?” I ask.

“You know what, you two love birds need to get directly connected, you kept bothering me, am I your match maker? Your love adviser? Taeyeon called me earlier asking to meet me, I’m sensing she’s troubled again. I’m actually going to her now if you didn’t came.”

“Oh I guess it will be about last night”

“Oh really, care to tell me now, so I can have an idea”

“Ahh Its better if you’ll hear it from her first”

“Thats unfair!!”

“Anyway, I have decided to confess everything to her tonight, what can you say?”

“Really? Well thats great! Finally! Baekhyun!” she happily congratulated me.

“Now, my question, how  should I make it?”

“Duh? . . .of course it needs to be special’
”I know, I’m planning to bring her to the set of her favorite history drama . . .”

“Eh? Why there?”

“Because I know she would love it there, and besides its in her bucketlist, to see the behind the scene of her favorite drama . .”

“Whoah! thats cheezy Baek I didn’t know you have that side, ok, go ahead”

“And then, confess there?. . . what do you think I should do?”

“Hmm . .that will be fine, but I think Taeyeon will appreciate it more if she will see her Boa Unnie there. That will be extra special, because you know they didn’t see ach other in a while now”

“You’re so bright Yeri, You’re right, Boa Noona is the key, I should bring her here, but I should consult her doctors first.”

“Hmmm . . I think you should go now, if you want to be here on time of your proposal”

“Alright, wait, I’ll drive you to your meeting place then”

“Ok Sure! I’ve been waiting to get on your Chevrolet, Lets go!” and Yeri just pull me to my own car. In a few minutes we reach the place.

“Hey good luck later” she said.

“You have to be there, ok, I’ll message you the place if its already done”

“Alright, Bye!” before I left the place I suddenly received a message from Irene.
