AUTHOR’S POV

*SHUT THE DOOR*
The girl on the other side flinched when her girlfriend, well, more like ex girlfriend, slammed the door and almost hit her precious nose. She was about to yell but Tiffany had all the rights to do so, “Tiff...” She tried to knock again.

“Wasssh it Umma?” The Donald spoon was forgotten, now little Soojung was staring at the door, her arms hugged her Mommy’s leg even tighter, “No, it was just a random...stranger. That’s why we have to be more careful.” Tiffany lifted Soojung up back to the kitchen, she looked at the clock then to the door, she still had around 30 minutes, she knew that Jessica didn’t like to wait so they should go later.

“Jungie, would you stay here? I need to go to the toilet.” The little girl nodded as she was seated on the sofa, she noticed that Tiffany was sweating, so she might need the toilet so much, “Don’t falrt, Mommy.” Tiffany took a quick glance towards the door before nervously smiled and took big steps into the bathroom.

In the bathroom, Tiffany let the water ran out as she splashed them onto her face, she didn’t mind if her shirt was going to be wet. She needed to clear her head as soon as possible. She stared at the mirror, she was indeed healthier than the last time she checked the mirror, after the devastating break up. A glimpse of Jessica’s awkward smile ran through her mind, she knew that only happened when Jessica was guilty. The older girl was thinner than she ever remembered. There was not even slightly chubby cheeks, she huffed, “She might forget her dinner again.”

Quickly her hands covered her lips, what was that? She shouldn’t be the same stupid Tiffany who would always forgive...She needed to let Jessica go, she shouldn’t remember every little thing about the other significant. She splashed for the nth time, Jessica was not her other significant. Anymore.

While outside of the bathroom, Soojung was piling her story books, making them to be pile of stairs for her to climb up, “Are you still there, brat?” Soojung pouted at the nickname but she was smiling inward, she missed the nickname so bad, and the imagination of having mango jellies really fogged up in her mind, “Yessh...” She couldn’t say the ‘Umma’ word, it felt difficult somewhat.

“Good, now, can you unlock the door? Just slide the lock.” Jessica was like an agent in the outside, checking the surrounding while whispering, more like speaking out loud so Soojung could hear her, she cursed the door for being too thick for her liking, she barely could hear Soojung’s little voice.

“What?” Jessica patted on her chest, inhaled deeply, it was her 5th time telling Soojung to unlock the door but the little girl didn’t seem to understand.

“Come on, do it like when you want to play with Taemin.” Soojung sat on the pile of the books she made, “I don’t like Taemin...”

Jessica almost broke through the door, “Yah! Brat, this isn’t the time for you to choose who you like or...” The older girl scratched her head, “Eeerr....okay-okay, Kai? How is he? Unlock the door, lets play with him with a pool of mango jellies?” She tried to sound interesting. But Soojung was unamused, “No. He likessh me but I do not.”

“WHAT IS WITH THIS OVERFLOWING CONFIDENCE?! Tiffany, what did you do to Soojung................or was it me? Um.” The oldest girl battled with her mind, “Alright, Jinri?! Do you like her? Jinri also likes mango, you two will be the mango couple of the year with mango ice cream and mango slices on top of your bowls!”

“Yeaay! I like Ssssuuulii with Mangoesssh!” The door was unlocked, Jessica didn’t leave any time as she barged in, Soojung fell on her because she wasn’t ready, “Soojung?” Soojung pouted and looked up, it was really her Umma.

It felt like the time had stopped, “Brat? My brat...?” Jessica held her tears as she lifted Soojung up, she was waiting for the latter to respond but Soojung just stared at Jessica, fascinated.

Not even a hug, but Jessica realized that it was her fault, so she hugged Soojung lightly, but tears streamed down as soon she inhaled Soojung’s baby scent, the scent she missed the most, “Jungie...” Slowly Soojung raised her arms, slowly wrapped them onto Jessica’s face, “...” Soojung couldn’t call the older girl.

“I miss you, Jungie. Forgive me, I, I was stupid, Umma was stupid... I love you, my brat...” Jessica couldn’t help but feeling guilt all over her body, her blood rushes even faster as she broke down and fell on her knees. She missed Soojung, she really missed her, she didn’t care if she looked fugly, she didn’t care if Soojung’s uniform was wet of her tears, she missed Soojung so much.

“Soojung, let’s go pac...” Tiffany could swear her breathe stopped when she saw her ex girlfriend kneeled down and cried while hugging her daughter, well, their daughter. Tiffany felt the urge to be angry and snatched Soojung back, but she saw that Soojung, silently, was also crying.
Soojung must be missing her Umma a lot.

“Here.” A cup of warm tea was served on the table, Jessica was already sitting, face to face while Soojung already changed her uniform and sat beside Tiffany, she suddenly became a polite and shy girl, no matter what, it had been months since she last met Jessica, she felt the familiarity but stranger vibe from Jessica at the same time.
