Yuri POV

After Yoong's surgery at the nearest hospital, he was immediately transferred to his confinement room. He'll be staying here for a week or two, depending on the speed of his recovery. Tao, on the other hand, had him undergone surgery longer than the former since his condition was way worse.

We didn't intend to waste time on finding the culprit for this. Sir Henry, Uncle Vincent and I immediately communicated with the police to report the matter. With Sir Henry's great influence with the police force, this was elevated to a special case.

The next morning, Yoong insisted to still take part of the investigation despite his condition. So, then we decided to have a small conversation regarding the matter in his designated room in the hospital while the ladies were out to buy food then Sunkyu and the others were inside Tao's room.

"Dealing with the police will be useless, Jae." Uncle snapped. "We are all aware enough who is the culprit in this, anyway."

"This is just a diversion, hyung. Siwon-hyung has to be made believe that we're clueless that it was him."

"Could it really be him?" Yoong snapped.

Henry looked at him and asked back, "Why? Do you have another person in mind?"

"Well... it could be those executives Tiffany fired last year. Mong, Kyuhyun, or Jungki could be behind this."

"Yeah, you're probably right..."

"But, isn't Mong working for Siwon too?" I asked.

"Yes. Mong's actually just a dummy for him. Siwon-hyung's still the one handling BPE." He looked away. "Jungki and Kyuhyun's probably influenced by him before too. Maybe, the funds they swindled went to his pocket too."

"And why you sounded okay with that?" Uncle asked then chuckled.

"I'm not really okay with it. I was actually mad about what those two loyal subordinates of mine did. But, then, I no longer have control in HGC. Stephanie's the one who bestowed justice on our lost wealth." he said and chuckled darkly. "She's really my daughter, no doubt."

"What evil thing she did on those three?" Uncle asked again then narrowed his eyes.

Yoong answered instead, "Jungki and Kyuhyun were imprisoned. She ordered exhaustion of the wealth of their families to compensate the swindled funds from the two HGC subsidiaries. Then, since the amount wasn't enough, she agreed for their children who are already of age to offer their service as payment."

"Stephanie really did that?" Uncle asked, sounding in complete disbelief.

"Yes." Henry responded. "It was all in legal terms, anyway."

"Yeah, I know that but, wasn't it too much, though? I thought Stephanie was a kind and forgiving person..."

"Hmmm. At times, I think?"

"And you're okay with this?"

Henry chuckled, "Hyung, my daughter's not doing anything wrong. And, it's not like she's enslaving them, anyway."

"So, how about Mong?" I asked. "What did she do with him?"

"Shin Mong escaped. No one's aware of his whereabouts too."

"I see..."

"So, we're really down to one suspect..." Uncle mumbled.

I sighed, "This is somewhat difficult. We have zero percent knowledge of the enemy's plans. No one among us knows where Siwon is. It's like we're battling a war while blindfolded."

"We never met for years now, though." Henry said then sighed deeply too.

"We can still have eyes. Though, it will be risky." I snapped.

"How?" Uncle asked.

"Through his illegitimate daughter, Hara. She and I met again two months ago. She offered me her service to become my eyes on Siwon's doings. Of course, I refused, but, she seemed to be really sincere on her offer since she told me something." I looked at Henry. "She told me Siwon's plan to put you on the top of his target list. It's like his target list's reversed since he really intended to save you for last. So, although, we may have those three HGC former executives as suspects in this incident. It's more probable that Siwon's still behind this."

"But, why did Hara reveal to you such information?" Yoong asked. "Didn't she connive with Siwon on framing you up before? What's with her sudden change of heart?"

"She said she wanted to atone for hers and her father's sins by doing this favor for me."

"That's still a risky deal for us, though." Henry snapped. "Though, she may have revealed a hint of Siwon's plan. Still, we can't exactly rely on her. She's maybe still a pawn of her father in this. She could lure us all into Siwon-hyung's trap."

"Yeah..."

"Approaching Hara will really just make us all be endangered." Yoong uttered. "But, you know, we're still forgetting another possible culprit. Sehun."

"Right." I nodded. "And probably, his assassin Brotherhood's leader too. Kim Jongin."

"Jongin-hyung's the leader of those assassins?!" Yoong asked in shock.

"Yes."

Henry butted, "It could really be possible. That group was the one led by Kim Junsu previously. He might have continued his father's legacy."

"But, Kim Jongin's already imprisoned." Uncle said.

I answered, "Still, his claws are out. Sehun's still on the loose. It could be another angle, the two of them set their targets on the Hwangs too, most especially Stephanie."

Suddenly Stephanie knocked on the door then snapped, "Are you guys done yet?"

"We'll be out in a few minutes, Steph!" Uncle Vincent shouted.

"Alrighty!"

Then, he redirected back to us, "Alright. We better wrap this meeting. For now, let's make sure each of our family's' safety. " He looked at Yoong. "And, I have a favor to ask you."

"Wh-what is it, Sir?"

"It may seem Jessica has already stopped on her plans for revenge for Anna. But, we can never be sure. That's why... I wanna ask you this favor... Please, help on stopping her completely."

"Yes. I will, sir."

Uncle smiled, "You know what I'm pertaining to, right?"

Yoong chuckled back, "Yes, I completely understand, sir."

"What are you planning to do?" I asked.

He answered proudly, "I'm gonna bribe her of my everlasting love. No one can resist that."

We all chuckled. Uncle face-palmed himself, "Now, why do I have a feeling that wouldn't work?"

"It won't work, I bet." I snapped. "You already bribed her of your everlasting love before, Yoong, and it backfired on you."

"Aiisshhh... at least, support me on this, okay? This time, it will. Trust me, hyung. Trust me."

We were about to wrap up the conversation when a surprising instance happened.

"Siwon-hyung's calling." Henry suddenly snapped.

"Put it on a loudspeaker, make sure to have it recorded too." Uncle Vincent responded.

I added, "Do you have a software that can track his location through the call?"

He shook his head, "No, I don't have one installed on my phone right now. But, I'll try to trace the number later."

He placed his phone on the high table. He sighed deeply first then, answered the call. "Hello?"

"Jaejoong." Siwon uttered weakly. "I heard what happened. Is your family okay?"

"Yes, we're okay. Thankfully, no one in my family got killed by it. Wounded, though."

"I see... I apologize I couldn't go to your party, by the way."

"It's okay, hyung. At least, you evaded the bomb explosion incident."

"Fortunately, huh...?"

"Yeah, fortunately..."

"..."

"..."

"Anyway... I've heard Yuri's alive after all."

"Yeah..."

"And you even allowed him to meddle with your daughter again?"

"I had no choice, hyung. Stephanie's the one handling HGC now. We were all surprised by him being alive too."

"So, what are you planning on him? I'm sure he's the one behind this, Henry. He plotted this to revenge against you."

"If that is so, is he planning to kill my daughter now too?"

"Probably. Though I've heard from the other news, they seemed to back together. Is that true, though?"

"I decided to not meddle with any of my daughter's decision, anymore, hyung."

"And Boa... So... she's alive? Was that woman really Boa?"

"Yeah..."

"How could she be alive...?"

"I don't know... I couldn't believe it either."

"Does she have a clue who attempted to kill her before?"
