A/N: Updating this fic frequently is actually my new year's resolution so here you go. Hopefully 2/3 days interval is still called frequent. kekekeke. Anyways, consider this as an introductory chap of one of the important characters in the future. :)

Yuri POV

This job sure . Hammering here and there, painting walls, carrying bags of cement, for real, this work is totally unrelated to my degree. I should be practicing in a corporate now. *Sigh.* If only there's a company out there that accepts on-the-job trainees and gives allowance too. But then, how would I know? I'm too busy with my part-time jobs and chores at home. Good thing, Tiffany's now under my command. I'm finally free from laundry and everything else. Now, I have more time in searching.

Yes, that will be my fourth reason for the contract. Tiffany will be fine though. Besides, her on-the-job training will start summer next year. She has all the time in the world (to do chores) for now.

"I cannot believe this, Mong!" an old man shouted. Struck by curiosity, I and some workers took a peek outside on what's going on.

"I'm so sorry, boss."

"I gave you a month to finish this goddamn building, now what happened? It's freaking three months already!"

"I-- I'm so sorry, boss. The workers are so slow."

"What?! We're freaking speeding up everything already!" my fellow worker hissed.

Another seconded, "Yeah. That Mong's the problem here! Whenever we're done, he wants us to redo them all because he just wanted to! There's not even a mistake on what we did!"

He's right. Mong sure likes to buy time in this construction project. Not to mention, he orders supplies from remote places so we tend to be delayed on our work.

"If they are slow then fire them all! Damn it. I'm wasting too much money and time on your team."

"I'm so sorry, boss. I promise we'll finish the construction in two weeks."

"Another two weeks?! I want this building done in five days!"

"I cannot guarantee that, boss, I---"

"No more alibis, Mong. I'm sick and tired of you giving me worthless explanations for buying time. Now where is the delivery?"

"Err- apparently, the hardware store's truck is under repair. I'm afraid we will not get to finish the first and second floor ceilings today."

"What the heck! No. I'll be the one to pick them up then..." the old man said which made Mong looked so startled. The former started to ride on the parked truck. "Boss, no! I'll pick them up instead. You should just go back to your office." Mr. Mong snapped.

"Who are you to order me around, huh?! Call one of your workers. I need a hand."

"But--"

"Shin Mong! I need a worker, now!"

"Boss, yes, boss!" Mr. Mong ran his way towards us and we immediately went back to work, pretending we do not know a thing.

"Yuri! Yuri!"

"Yes, sir?"

"I want you to accompany Boss Park. And also..." he went near and gripped my shoulder. "Can you convince him to extend our period for two weeks? Or maybe even more."

"Err- I can do the first one, sir, but I don't know about the second."

"Oh come on. Kwon Yuri. I know you have great convincing powers. You can do it." Before I could react, he forcefully pushed me out and towards the truck.

The old man looked at my direction and all of a sudden, his face went in horror and flabbergast. "Yunho..." he mumbled.

"Boss, here's Yuri to accompany you." Mr. Mong said, snapping him out.

"Yuri... I see..." he redirected back to the truck then shouted, "Get in, kid! Faster!"

"Uggghhh- traffic. Can you find a shortcut to that place Mong said?" he asked.

"Y-yes, sir."

"That guy really irks me. I really want to fire that man to be honest. But I have no choice..." he mumbled.

Apparently, the supplies we're about to pick up are in Osan which is freaking too far from Seoul. I just don't get why in that place. There are many hardware stores located just here in downtown.

"It seemed we still haven't introduced ourselves formally." he suddenly snapped. "I am Park Sooman. What's your name, boy?"

"I'm Kwon Yuri, sir."

"I see... no wonder... Kwon... Kwon..." he mumbled again and redirected back his gaze on the windshield. Suddenly, he snapped again, "Are you related to the fallen clan of Kwon?"

"Fallen clan?"

"Yes. It's the clan of tycoons that almost dominated the real estate industry in just a matter of years."

"I'm sorry sir, but I don't know a thing about that family. I'm pretty sure all I got is the same surname as them."

"Mmmm- I see... Too bad, I thought there's still a piece of that family living somewhere..."

"Were they really that famous?"

"Just for a little while. They dominated sales for straight years at the start of this decade... Don't tell me you don't know them?"

"I actually don't hear my surname that popular in any business fields I'm aware of, not even in my degree."

"So you're studying?"

"Yes. I'm taking up business administration, sir."

"Really, huh... How did you end up working in the construction site then?"

"It just so happens I need a part-time job for the school break and there's a vacancy there, sir."

"I see..."

"So uhhmm--- what about that fallen clan, sir?"

"Their business was all good until something happened."

"What happened?"

"They were all killed. One by one."

His last statement had me startled and stopped the truck suddenly. "Whoa whoa! Boy, are you trying to get us both killed?!"

"I--I'm sorry, sir. I was just shocked on how awful it was." I said then continued to drive.

"Oh well... That's just part of urban legend. No one really knows what happened. But I am pretty sure, they were murdered."

"Why would they all be killed then? Does that family have people grudging over them?"

"Good question. My speculation is it's related to the feud with another family. Basically, it all started because they were in the same business field. You know, boy, I'm not jumping into conclusions. The heated battle between those two families is really the most plausible reason."

"What happened to that other family then?"

"Of course, business boomed. They went even more prosperous."

"What's the name?"

"Nah. I will not tell you!" he said and laughed heartily. "What if you're gonna tell them? I'll definitely get charged with libel, you know!"

"Right." I said and faked a chuckle. This old man sure is kinda weird.

A few minutes later, we're stuck in traffic again. I have a feeling we're not gonna make it on time. I think I should find an alternative source of supplies. But what if Mr. Mong will get mad at me? But then, if I won't, the job that's supposed to be done by night will be hindered again. Though it equates to additional income, I sure don't want that to happen as I need more time this coming week in finding a good company and we're only given two weeks left for it. I can't just back out from the construction as Mr. Mong made me sign a contract though.

"I guess I should have listened to Mong..." he mumbled.

Alright. Everything else doesn't matter anymore. I asked, "Sir. Is it really necessary to buy the supplies in Osan?"

"Well that's what Mong said. The one in Osan is the supplier your team's been having all along. He also said the materials are really good there in just a fair price."

"Permission to express my opinion, sir, but don't you think it’s kind of-- just the same if we'll just get the supplies around Seoul?"

"Oh yeah? Care to explain?"
