Yuri POV

"Wooooohoooo! Isn't it a very wonderful day?!"

"..."

"Gosh- I feel so alive. And also, incredibly happy too!"

"..."

"So, what should we do today?"

"..."

"..."

"..."

"Yah, Stephanie." Young Yuri called which had successfully snapped his girlfriend out of her thoughts.

"Y-yes?" she asked.

"I said, what should we do today?" he repeated in irritation.

"Well... we can stay here at the playground and uhhmmm--- watch the birds fly up in the sky." And Tiffany continued to stare above absentmindedly.

Apparently, after two weeks from the date their families met up in one restaurant, the two love birds decided to stroll around a nearby playground on one weekend afternoon.

"Yah. What the heck's wrong with you?!"

She snapped out again from her thoughts, "Huh?"

He sat beside her. "You've been like that since our family meeting and that's for weeks ago already. Is something bothering you?"

"Well... I'm just wondering what your dad said about me."

"Err-- what did he say again?"

"It's about if I find out what I am. So... What am I?"

"Hmmm. To be honest, I don't have a clue." He then looked up at the sky and smiled. "Maybe, he knew you were an angel sent from above."

"That doesn't make any sense. Why would I loathe my father for that then?"

"Well, it's probably because your father stole you from the heaven to have an angel by his side. You know, it's a little bit selfish 'cus you were already in a better place."

She then groaned, "Aisshhh-- stop treating me like a little girl, okay. You think I will believe something like that?"

"It's better to believe something like that than drown yourself thinking what appa really meant."

"..."

"I mean, it's better to just shrug it off. Maybe, he didn't really mean anything about it."

"Why does it sound like you knew something...?" she mumbled.

"I don't. I swear, I don't."

She sighed, "As much as I want to forget about it, I couldn't order my brain not to. It keeps coming back to my mind."

"What good will it do if you find out what he meant, anyway?"

"I don't know... additional information?"

"Bad information for the brain and for the heart. There's nothing good."

"..."

He sighed loudly, "What do you want me to do to cheer you up?"

She looked at him and smiled apologetically, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you also feel down or something. It's just that... it was very intriguing for me."

"I know. Well, if I am in your shoes, I will also feel the same. But then..." He reached for her hand and held it tightly to his chest. "But then, you're with me, so, everything else doesn't matter."

She smiled, with this time, genuinely and warmly, "Thank you for always there by my side, Yuwree-yah."

"Whether you like it or not, I'll always be there for you."

"And so will I to you, too."

"Hmmm. You know what? We should give each other gifts or something."

"Gifts? Is there an occasion? Our anniversary's not yet due."

He chuckled, "No, I mean, we should give each other symbols of our love."

"Rings?"

He blushed with the idea. He then scratched the back of his head in embarrassment. "Well, it can be rings or something similar."

She than flashed her eye-smiles. "Alright. Let's go visit some shops. Maybe we can find something."

"Really?" He asked in excitement. "You're sure okay with it?"

She nodded, "Of course. Why wouldn't I?"

"Well… you might think it's corny or too cheesy or something."

"Hmm. But I like the idea."

"Great!" He stood up and raised his fist in the air as he grabbed Tiffany's hand by the other. "Let's go!"

---

The young love birds went to a shopping district. Firstly, the two went for an ATM to withdraw ample amount of cash, and from the looks of it, they're really that rich without a doubt. They both withdrew probably thousands of dollars from their accounts. Wow.

Afterwards, they started to search each and every shop until they stumbled upon one jewelry store. Little Yuri was focusing over the rings' display counter, while, little Tiffany was wandering her eyes around the shop, looking for something else. Well, it's probably other than a ring.

"Hmm. How about bracelets?" she asked as she went near him.

"Err-- don't you like rings?"

She ignored him as she continued in mumble, "Hmm. How about earrings? But, no. I don't think you should be wearing an earring..."

"Uhhm... We can just choose rings. We can have it necklaced if you still don't wanna wear it though."

"Aha!" she blurted as she snapped her finger.

"So, rings it is?"

She looked at him with her beaming eye-smiles again, "Necklaces, right!"

"Yeah, that's a good choice." he answered, sounding uninterested and disappointed.

"Come on let's take a look at the necklace displays!" She grabbed his hand immediately and led him towards the counter to the other side.

She was then intently looking for the designs when he finally groaned in frustration. "Can you at least tell me why you don't like rings?"

She redirected her focused to him. "Well… rings are somewhat meant for something else."

"Meant for something else?! They are symbols for love!"

"Yeah, but, they're more of symbols for engagement or marriage."

He then looked at her in disbelief.

She continued, "Or, you were actually proposing to me earlier?"

"..."

She sighed deeply. Then, she grabbed his hand again and dragged him out of the shop. "You don't understand me."

"Yeah, I don't." he said stubbornly and looked away from her.

"It's not like I don't want to be engaged but, think about it. Someday, if we are already in the right age and about to be engaged, we can already have that kind of symbol. So... if we buy rings now, it won't have use by that time comes, right? Well, sadly engagement rings are subsequently replaced by wedding rings afterwards so, it's somewhat useless too."

He returned his gaze to her in quizzical, "So, what are you trying to point out?"

She sighed again, "I want our symbol now to last forever rather than have it replaced by another one someday."

And with that explanation, the frown on stubborn little Yuri's face was replaced with a look of relief and joy. He didn't bother to respond and just reached out for her and embraced her tight.

Hmm. Now, I am convinced that Tiffany's mind matured faster than mine back then. Nonetheless, actually, she's really sooooo fascinating, yes, even the present Tiffany. She looks and thinks over things too differently.

She chuckled. "So, you're okay now?"

He broke away, "Yeah. For a second, I thought you don't really love me."

She looked at him disbelievingly, "Just because I don't want rings now? Really?"

"Well... anyone else can see it that way."

"If I don't love you, I wouldn't be with you here now. And also, I probably would have already broken up with you."

"Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm sorry." he said as he grinned and scratched the back of his head.

"Come on. Let's head back."

So, as their misunderstanding was finally settled, the two youngsters returned to the shop and looked for necklaces to buy. Yuri picked three or four designs, yet, Tiffany had refused them all. It was then, moments later, that they both noticed a pair of necklace in another display counter. A pair of lock and key necklaces. the two kids stared at them with smiles on their faces.

A saleslady went near and snapped, "The heart-shaped lock necklace can only be opened by its key pair. Also, you can put two little pictures inside it too."

The two looked at her in fascination and said in unison, "We'll take it!"

The lady chuckled in response, "That will be two thousand dollars each."

Two thousand each?! They're a bit pricey for such fancy necklaces, I say.

The two kids didn't even budge and both pulled out their own wallets. Yuri noticed the same gesture from her and halted, "No, I'll pay."

"No, I'll pay too."

"No, no, I am the man. I should pay."

"But we agreed to give each other gifts. That just means, I should pay too."

He sighed in defeat, "Fine, let's split the cost."

The two then pulled out cash from their wallets and handed them to the sales lady. After the transaction, two went out of the store happily while holding each other’s hands. They went to the nearest bench and sat to take a look at the necklaces they both.

"Here. For you." Yuri handed his box to his girlfriend. The latter giggled and did the same. They both opened it at the same time. Fany got the lock while the young me got the key.

It was only then I remembered that it was the same key necklace I had which I lent to Sooyoung for his so-called 'collateral of friendship'. At first, I thought it was a miniature smoke pipe due to its shape and my wild imagination, though. I even thought that the necklace was useless to me as I couldn't remember who gave it to me. It turned out... it was the most important possession I had...

"Let's try it!" little Yuri excitedly said.

She nodded then handed out her lock necklace. Yuri inserted the key to the hole of the heart-shaped lock and afterwards twisted it. The inside of the necklace showed somewhat little frames on both sides of the lock.

"Let's take photos and place them inside!" little Tiffany said as she squealed in excitement. Then, the both of them helped each other out on wearing the symbols to their necks. Afterwards, they strolled around the shopping districts again with their hands intertwined with each other.

After they reached in front of a photo booth, Tiffany stopped them from walking. "Wait." she uttered.

"What is it?"

"Someone's following us."

Yuri looked around then returned his gaze on her. "I don't see anyone suspicious."

Tiffany turned around then snapped, "You can come out. At least, tell why are you following us. Do you need something?"

The boy complied. He went out from behind of the nearby post. It was little Yoona. He looked so depressed and down this time, though. Not to mention, he has dark circles under his eyes too.
