Tiffany POV

It is the 5th of December, the most special day for my only love, Yuri. Yet, it is also the worst day for me as it's the day I am bound to be married to someone else that I don't love.

"This will be just another typical day. This will also pass by." My mom, Elizabeth, said as she came in to my hotel room, looking at me through the mirror. My hairdresser is already done styling my hair. She bowed to us and left the room.

Mom went behind me, still looking through the reflection, then, placed her hands on my shoulders. She smiled faintly, "Stop frowning, Stephanie."

"…"

She sighed deeply, "I know it's hard. But, you have to bear it, dear. Trust me. Tomorrow, you'll feel better." She faked a smile again, trying to cheer me up. "This will only be for a little while. It's just one or two hours of enduring it."

Yet, with that, I couldn't help but shed tears.

She took the issue on the side table then, went in front of me and knelt. She helped wipe my tears. "Please smile."

I forced a smile. Yet, I know it turned out still bitter.

"There you go." She then stood and gave me a hug. "Just think of only the good things. You will be fine."

"Okay..."

"…"

"…"

"I'm sorry." she uttered.

For what?"

She pulled away and looked at me. "It's because of me you're suffering the same. This is all my fault. If I--"

"Mom." I tried to smile again. "You don't have to be sorry. I am not blaming you."

"…"

"Like you said, this will just be another normal day. I… I'll try my best to… make it normal as it seems."

She smiled in relief. Then, she looked at her watch. "It's almost time."

We both stood. Then, she brushed her fingers on my bangs. "I know you are stronger than me. You will be able to cope up with this sooner."

Will I…?

"Everything happens for a reason, Stephanie."

Is it…?

"Just trust your fate to the heaven."

Should I…?

"Th-thanks, mom."

She wrapped her arms around me again. So was I, I returned her warm embrace.

"Now, what's this?" my little angel, Sunkyu, snapped as he came. "I thought you two hate each other? Now, you're hugging?"

Mom broke away then, faced him. "Sweetie, didn't I tell you it's bad to barge inside a room without knocking?"

"But, I just really want to see umma, halmunee."

I turned to face him and faked a smile. "Hey there, little handsome."

He looked at me in an astonished manner as he went near. Then, he smiled and blankly said, "Umma. You are so… pretty~"

I leaned and kissed his forehead, "Thank you, sweetie."

"Appa will totally go crazy again if he sees you like this. He'll definitely fall in love with you more."

And that drawn tears from my eyes again. I turned and wiped my tears by my forehand lightly.

"Sweetie, stop making your umma cry." Mom said. I then felt her hand on my shoulder. "We'll just be waiting for you downstairs."

"Okay."

My mom knew I needed space. I need to remove this feeling away myself.

I looked at myself at the mirror, touched it subconsciously as I mumbled to myself, "In just few moments away, you'll be losing everything completely."

I chuckled bitterly. I indeed sounded too grimly.

"Well… that's how your destiny is, anyway. Right from the very beginning, the heaven already hinted you this."

"Yuri…" I reached for my necklace and held it tight. "Maybe in another lifetime, we'll be able to be happy together then."

I took a deep breath. "I guess this is it…"

"Tiffany." someone called behind the door as he knocked.

"Come in. It's open."

Sooyoung opened the door. "Hey." he snapped.

I faced him and faked a smile, "Hey."

"You-- you look great."

"Thanks but, aren't you supposed not to see me before the wedding? It's bad luck, you know."

He chuckled, "Yeah, I know. That's why I decided to see you beforehand. Maybe, there will be bad luck and the wedding will get cancelled."

"Yeah. It's worth of a try."

"You know… I never thought this moment will come to my life that I will marry you. I mean… if this just happened back then, I know I would have been happy. But, as time went by, I learned to accept we are never meant to be. Yet, now..." He laughed bitterly. "God must love trolling me so much."

"Why? Is it because you already realized your true feelings to someone else, God decided for you to have me instead?"

"Tiffany, please."

"Come on. Why until now you're in denial of what you really feel for Hyoyeon?"

"…"

"Tell me. Come on."

He stared at me first like studying my eyes. Then, he sighed deeply, "She was my first love." He went to the window and look through it. "We were good friends since we were kids. She's always there for me and supports me all the time. But what I do appreciate more is… she accepted me wholeheartedly and not even tried to mock me or anything. I guess that's when I really fell for her."

"Mock you? Why would she?"

"Well, in case you haven't heard yet, when I was a kid, I was a fat boy, a very very very fat boy, probably I weighed four times a normal kid would weigh."

I chuckled, "Oh. I know."

He gazed back at me. "How? Did Hyoyeon show you my childhood pictures?"

"No. It's because I already met you before."

His eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "Really?"

"Yeah, we met one time at the airport. I guess it was in third grade. I was told by my dad you're going to be my fiancé."

His eyes widened, "Oh. I remember now. You were that girl who didn't like me!"

"What? I didn't actually say that during that time."

"Yeah, you didn't but your eyes said so!" Then, he glared at me. "You are the reason why I became determined to lose weight and started to be conscious of myself!"

"Ya. Aren't you supposed to be thankful to me instead?"

"You hurt my feelings okay. When I first met you, I instantly had a little crush on you. But then, you looked at me in a disgusted way. Maybe that is why I decided to forget about you too. You were my worst nightmare!"

I chuckled and tapped his shoulder, "Alright, alright. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. Maybe, I was just a little bit influenced by my very, very arrogant and conceited boyfriend that time."

"You already had a boyfriend that time?"

"Yeah. Remember my prince?"

"Oh. You mean Yuri?"

"Yeah…" Then, I looked at him quizzically. "Wait. So, you actually knew all along Yuri was the prince I was looking for?"

"Err-- uhhm… that's because of the key necklace. Yuri was the one that lent that to me. And when you freaking freaked out because of it, I then got a clue."

I glared at him, "Yeah, right. And you hid it from me and faked your identity."

He tapped my shoulder, "Alright, alright. I already said sorry about that already. Anyway, we're already quits. You also hurt my feelings back then."

"Fine… So, why didn't you pursue on courting Hyoyeon before?"

"Isn't it obvious? She declared to me so many times she's a lesbian. What do you want me to do with that? Then, all of a sudden, she said it was all nothing but a joke?! Like, what the hell! I was really so pissed off that time!"

"Uhhmm... Can I tell you something?"

"What?"

"Hyoyeon is so much in love with you. Actually, she confessed to me last year that it was ever since you were kids."

He looked at me disbelievingly and shouted, "WHAT?!"

"What what?"

"Are you for freaking real?!"

"Yeah. She even told me she was just faking her gender preference to keep herself closer to you all the time."

"The ! Why didn't she tell me?!"

"Sooyoung."

"Aissshh-- if she just told me about it ever since, we probably--" and he paused.

"Probably what?"

He looked away, "N-nothing."

"…"

"…"

"Sooyoung."

"Yeah?"

"There's… no turning back."

He gazed back to me. "I know…"

"Like you said, maybe someday we'll get a chance for a divorce."

"I know but, when do you think that will be then? When my dad and your dad are already dead?"
