Before anything else, I would like to greet Romantic Street: A Detour to Destiny a happy 3rd birthday! Yes, the day will be almost over but, at least I tried to catch up! Haha. xD

But, seriously, I couldn't believe this will last for 3 years and even more. I mean, I only planned for this to run in just two years. hahaha (Sorry, writer's block is really kicking me up for months already OTL)

So, as promised, another chapter. And since it's the fic's birthday today, I'll be revealing whose POV will be next (Yeah, I just want to do so, hahaha). Better be ready for your guesses. ;)

Jessica POV

--Fourteen years ago---

"Think again, sassy. I'm not going to marry you. I will never ever marry you!" the boastful, pesky brat, Yuri Kwon, declared to my face in his proudest way.

What an idiot...

I mocked a laugh, "And do you even think I like you either? Shut your dumb mouth because you're not my type. You're definitely not even a percent of my ideal type!"

He smirked mischievously, "It's settled then."

I looked at him in confusion, "What do you mean?"

"I know you hate your dad for ordering you too much. I can see that from your spoiled-looking face. Maybe, with our refusal, you can completely piss him off. Don't worry 'cus I'll be helping you out with that too!" he said again in a boastful manner.

"Ha! As if you can convince him."

He suddenly closed the gap of our faces as he glared at me in a pretty much deadly way, "Are you underestimating me?"

This idiot sure is getting into my nerves.

I sighed in defeat. "Fine. Do whatever you want. I'm not okay with this marriage thing, anyway."

He returned to his composure and smiled widely at me, "Great!"

"Hmph."

"So, are we friends again?"

I rolled my eyes at him. "Yeah, whatever."

"I mean it, Jessica, just friends. I can never offer anything more to you."

Jerk.

I chuckled, "I will never ever fall for you, don't worry. Pfft. Who'll ever fall for you, anyway?"

"I'm sorry but, someone already did." he proudly stated.

"Who? Your dog?"

"No." he calmly answered. Then, he gazed to the sky dreamily. "A very beautiful and perfect girl did."

"Haha! Is she even real? If yes, oh, I bet she's really ugly and stupid."

"She's real! She's Stephanie! Stephanie Hwang! And she's not ugly and stupid! Oh, you know what? The level of her beauty and intelligence are for a princess while unlike you, you're a mere, ugly, dumb and grumpy peasant!"

Seriously, why on Earth did my best friend fell in love with this idiotic creature?

---Ten years ago---

"Hi!" a very cheerful girl greeted me. She flashed me a very pretty smile with her eyes perfectly crescent-shaped.

"Uhh... hi?" I responded which ended up awkward.

She forwarded her hand, offering for a handshake. "I'm Stephanie. What's your name?"

Stephanie...? Don't tell me she's...?

I returned the gesture. "Jessica. Jessica Jung."

"I knew it! So, you're Asian too, right?" Duh. Isn't it obvious with my face?

"Yeah, I guess."

"I have a feeling we'll be great friends, Ms. Jung." she stated. The look on her eyes. She's too... sincere... so innocent.

"So, can I call you Jessica?"

"Sure."

"Oh. You can call me Steph, or Annie, or Fany, or---"

"May I ask for your surname?"

"Oh." She chuckled. "I forgot to tell you that. It's Hwang."

So, I am right. She was that one...

"You know, please forgive me for being random now but, I always tend to ask this to everyone I meet..." She quickly pulled out a necklace from her pocket and forwarded it to my face. "So, do you know who the owner of this?"

"Uhh--" I shook my head. "I've never seen that in my life before."

Her expression suddenly turned into sadness. "Oh. I see..."

"Why are you seeking for the owner of that thing, anyway?"

She suddenly returned to her cheerful self, "It's from my prince! We sort of got separated for some reason. But, don't get this wrong though. I know you're wondering why I don't know his name and actually, I don't know his face too." She faked a laugh as she scratch the back of her head. "It's just that... I tend to be forgetful most of the time."

She... She's really weird.

"If he's really that important then, you should have remembered him, at least."

Then again, she has fallen back to her despair.

*Sigh*. She's too naive.

I get it now then... How did that guy made this one fall for him...

What a pity.

I opened my eyes. Another dream, indeed. Yet, this is somewhat a rare chance of a lighter dream for me. Usually, I only get nightmares for the past months.

That dream though...

It may be nice, as pigmented by my past childhood memories with those two, but, if one could think it through 'til the very end, their romance turned to nothing but pain and sorrow.

Well... I have the very same fate as my best friend, anyway. Mine's a tragedy.

A week has passed since I came back here in Seoul. I didn't waste any more time and continued on conducting research as to who could possibly have killed Kwon Yuri. Deeply scanning through different media, government files and such. It's the very same method I did to track down Jongin. I know I will not fail on this. I have already set my eyes to one target, anyway. All I just need is an evidence.

But, for today, I think I'll be needing a timeout from this objective of mine. I still haven't visited Tiffany ever since I came here. I know I already declared not to see her again but, I just want to see for myself how is she doing now though.

I parked my car in front of the Hwang residence, opposite of the road. Yet, before I could even get out of the car, my ex-boyfriend, Im Yoong, was walking on the other side's pavement and heading for the manor too.

Weird. Yoong never leaves his car whenever he's going somewhere unless someone else will be picking him up. It's not about his mood, I'm sure. Something's really going on with him.

I decided to wait for him to leave the place first before seeing Tiffany. Then, it was only after two hours when he finally set foot outside the Hwang Manor. And the very same as earlier, his face showed nothing but sadness.

He walked away slowly and was obviously drowned in his thoughts. He went across the road. As he was about to pass by, he averted his gaze to my car. He then looked at my tinted windshield. He was staring intently into my eyes as he was walking nearer.
