Yuri POV

"...promise me you'll take care of yourself there."

"Yes, I will. You there too. I love you so much."

"I love you so much too."

"Bye."

"Bye."

Now I feel relieved that I finally get to talk to Tiffany. I couldn't try to reach her earlier since the old man forbidden me to use my phone during the company trip. He said I need to focus on gathering reasons there how to turn down the suggestion of joint venture with this Japanese supplier. Apparently, he doesn't like to associate his company with Saiyuki saying the terms and conditions they have showed were less favorable for BPE.

But now, here I am, nursing this fake dad of mine on his snow skiing expedition in Hokkaido. Yes, he cancelled the afternoon meeting just for him to avail the 50% discount on one ski resort for today. Seriously, this old man can actually buy everything on this ski resort yet, he's still going for discounts.

"What are you doing, boy?! Help me out here!" dad shouted as he struggled on his carriage.

"I'm sorry, dad. I'm coming." I hurried my way towards him and assisted him.

"Call your girlfriend all you want later. We have a skiing event to accomplish first."

We started to head towards the resort. "Can I ask you something?" I snapped.

"Sure."

"Why do you need to abandon the meeting and head here instead when you can totally avail the normal rate of this resort on other not-so-important days?"

"Boy, not because I'm rich, I can buy everything I like in just a snap. You see, you have to consider each and every cent. Just like in business, you must always have good management for cost and expenses. Remember that."

"But this isn't business..."

"Tell me, what will you buy? A chicken with buy one take one promo or the one that doesn't have any freebies at all?"

"It depends on the quality. If the chicken on promo is somewhat old or almost expired-something, I'd rather buy the normal one instead."

He sighed loudly, "You are damn smart. But set aside the quality, what will you choose?"

"Hmmm- It's impossible. On perishable goods, usually it's all because of the expiry date that's why their having them on sale."

"Aiiissshhhh-- You are soooooo annoying! I'm never gonna talk to you again!" He hastened his pace, stomping his feet 'til gets inside the resort. Tsk tsk. That old man... You know, it's kind of fun to annoy old people sometimes.

After we placed all our baggage on the rooms we rented, he excitedly rushed himself to the skiing area, dragging me along, of course.

"Yah. Old man, are you sure you can handle this? This is a freaking extreme sport, just so you know."

"Are you belittling me?!"

"I'm just concerned. This is a suicidal act for you."

"Pfft. Why are you passing me what you're feeling, chicken-scaredy-cat little baby?!"

"Alright, old man. If you say so..." I couldn't help but chuckle over his fail attempt of mocking. He doesn't act on his age sometimes.

"Shut up and just watch." With that he started to ski rapidly which had me startled.

"Whoa! Wait up!" I rashly followed him.

"I'm Korea's greatest skier! Believe it! Wahaha!" he shouted gleefully.

Crap. I couldn't catch up with him. He's too good in this.

Then, he took a glimpse back at me, smirking, and looked away. He started to assail me with clod of snow using his skiing poles, directly hitting my face. "Yah, Old man! Stop!"

"You deserve it for insulting me!"

"Yah!" Aiissh- he's too good. He can even attack me while still focusing on his path.

"Old man, be careful! Stop this now!"

"Hah! You're the one who should be careful!"

He then quickened his pace making me about ten meters far behind. But then, all of a sudden, a giant tree was hindering our way. "Lookout!" I shouted. Unfortunately, I was too late. He crashed on the big tree.

I hurriedly went my way to assist him out from the pile of snow. "Dad, are you okay?!"

I put his arm around my shoulders and tried to pull him up. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?"

"Yes. I'm okay." he answered while wearing an obvious smile on his face.

"You are so stubborn. Didn't I tell you this is a freaking extreme sport? This doesn't suit your age at all. You're already sixty-three, for Pete's sake." I said. Yet, all I had in return is a smile from him. "Can you walk or do you want me to carry you on my back?"

"No, this is fine."

We started to walk back to the resort. But throughout our walk, all he did was glancing and smiling at me. This old man really gives me too much shivers.

"You know... You're starting to creep me out. Is there something wrong with my face?" I asked.

He chuckled, "Nothing at all. It's just that... I realized how happy my life would be if I had a real son..."

"It's not the end of the world, you know. Even seventy-year-old men are still capable of having a child."

He then laughed heartily, "Yuri, Yuri... You see, there is always something one can never have in this world. And in my life, having a child is one of them. As much as want to, I can't."

"Why not? Do you have a disease or something?"

"No."

"Your wife or girlfriend is not capable of giving birth?"

"No. I already told you I don't have a wife or a girlfriend, remember?"

"Why? Been busy with work?"

"Well, you can assume it like that."

"So that's not it?"

"Yeah."

We finally arrived back at the resort and he insisted to take a seat on a bench outside. Then, I brought him a cup of coffee for him to relax more.

"Thanks." he said as he reached for the cup. I then sat down beside him.

"So, what's your real reason?"

"Maybe some other time, I'll tell you."

"Yah. You've been hiding so many things from me already. Just at least open up on this one."

He chuckled, "Sorry, about that. I just have some little trust issues with other people."

"Well... I'm acting as your 'son' now. I think I'm not a stranger anymore to you. You can share it with me."

He stared at me first then smiled, "Right. I shouldn't keep secrets with you." He sipped his coffee then stared up in the sky. "Tell me... if your girlfriend passes away, would you still consider to love again?"

"I... I don't know. I can never picture myself without Tiffany anymore."

"I see..."

"So
