The Forgotten Past, Unveiled
Romantic Street: A Detour To DestinyYuri POV
Three weeks have passed and still, we have the same situation inside the house. Tiffany and I aren't still in good terms. How will we get back, anyway? She's not stopping from consoling my 'best friend' and acting like the goody good friend Yoong does have to cry on to. Seriously, she should just back away. It's so obvious enough that guy's just taking advantage of her.
Anyways, for all this time, I tend to just dump myself to lots of workloads. It's quite helpful, actually. Keeping yourself busy sure is the best thing to ease your mind from love problems. Yet, I know, in the end, I can never really escape. I'm still so ed up. As much as I want to forget about all of my problems with my girlfriend, I really can't.
"Knock, knock, Lover boy." Oh great. Here is another one.
"I'm not in the mood right now, Hara. Don't you dare call me that again or I'll get you fired." I said while I busied myself on my paper works here in my office in BPE.
She came inside and sat on my desk. "Oh come on. I'm just trying to lift up your mood."
"You can never lift up my mood."
"Oh yes, I can." She then leaned to me, "If you will just allow me to..." and winked.
"Oh for Pete's sake, Hara, stop flirting with me! Can't you understand you are my damn cousin?!"
Yeah, right, one problem after another. Since the Tokyo project's already about 50 percent completion, I'm no longer ought to stay there all the time and can just visit once a month. It's a good thing, I know, but bad too since Hara's now assigned here in Seoul, meaning, never-ending flirting and molestations from her again. She's freaking annoying, really.
She retorted, "We're not even real cousins, okay… uncle Siwon with that random girl Shin Mina? Who is he kidding? Everyone in our family knows he could never dare to cheat on Aunt Hyori."
"That's only your assumption, you crazy woman. My mother was not just a random girl, okay. Aisshh- you're really irking me out. Get out of here. I said I'm not in the mood!"
"Pfft. You're always not. And that is because of that pesky Tiffany, right? Just go break up with her already. I'll be here for you."
"I will never break up with her. It will be over my dead body so sorry about that. Aisshh- Get out before I'll call security guards!"
"Yah. Alright, alright! I will stop. Besides, I will not really be bothering you here if I don't have any errand."
"Just spill it out. What is it?"
"Your dad wants you in his office."
"Why?"
"He said he has something to discuss with you. And that, he didn't even tell me a little detail. But then he totally stressed he wants you there as soon as possible."
"Okay. Tell him I'll be there in five minutes."
"Yes, SIR." she mocked and bowed to me, afterwards left.
After I was done with my paper works, I immediately headed to my dad's office. I saw him rubbing his chin with his right hand while staring over his computer monitor. I knocked on his already opened door. "President, did you call for me?"
He finally noticed my presence, "Yuri, my boy. Aissh- just call me dad around here, will ya? Oh and close the door, please."
I complied then sat on the chair in front of his desk. "So, what is it that you want from me, dad?"
"Oh... Hmmm... let's see..."
"..."
"Right. Your work. Any updates with your projects?"
"They are still so far so good. Incheon project is now in 85 percent completion while Tokyo's in 48 percent. Our residential town house subdivision in Kyunggi, so far we have them increased by 20 percent in sales. Our other two residential projects, both increased by far 5 and 8 percent in sales. Apparently, the first is highly marketable than the two. Still, good though. The planned budget can still be reached by March."
"Uhuh. That's great. How about the new deals you're working on?"
"I'm still negotiating with RMA for Seoul commercial building construction. On the other hand, I have already closed our deal in Shanghai. We got the contract price 10 percent lower than their offer."
"Good. Good. It seems everything’s under your complete control. Perhaps, I can now give you three projects more then."
"Okay."
"Wow. No complaints this time?"
"..."
"Wait. Isn't your second semester in school started already?"
"It will start this coming February."
"Hmmm. Is that okay with you? Working here while still studying?"
"I already had it fixed. I scheduled my classes in the mornings and nights. So, I can be here maybe at least six hours a day."
"Wow. Very workaholic with such dedication... Hmmm-- Genes sure run in the blood."
"..."
"What now? No more interrogation of specific words I say? Didn't you hate my 'genes-genes' remark so much?"
"I already told you, I'm no longer interested."
"Hmmm. Alright, I see..."
"..."
"So. How's is it going with Tiffany?"
"Please, let's not talk about personal life during work hours."
"Oh come on. No one will hear us here. Besides, I am your father. You can pretty much open up to me."
"..."
"Yuri, don't hesitate. This has been my dream, you know, giving advice to my son about his love life."
"Fine."
Then, he looked at me in quizzical, "So... it seems to me you're still having those petty fights with her."
"They’re not petty."
"Oh really, huh? Hara told me the root of your fight is about some little jealousy."
"Our fight isn't that petty and what my feeling isn't just something you can call little!"
