Alternative Solution to Deep Loneliness
Romantic Street: A Detour To Destiny
Yuri POV
*Mr.-Goo's-Office,-BPE*
"Dad." I said as I knocked on his already opened door.
"Yuri. Come in. Come in." he said in a very gleeful manner as always.
I came in and stood in front of him. "Why did you hire Jessica here?"
"Huh? No, I did not."
"That's what our employees told me."
"And you believe them more than me?!"
"Just spill it out, please."
He sighed, "Well... she was pushy. I couldn't get to refuse."
"You've got to be kidding me! You're the President of this company and yet, you don't know how to refuse someone who doesn't even have a slight control on you at all?!"
"Look, Yuri. It's not really a big deal if she sees you."
"Oh hell no. I'm sure enough Jessica will find a way for Tiffany to see me here too. Dad, we already talked about this. I don't want to associate myself with all of them anymore."
"I know... But I really couldn't refuse, okay. She's really that... pushy."
"Fine." I sighed in defeat. "Hire her or do whatever you want. Just transfer me permanently to Shanghai."
"You know I can't. You are now the owner of this company. You should be basing in the main office. Besides, you'll take over the management for maybe in a year or two."
"But don't you think it will be better for me to manage a branch first than stay here under your supervision? At least I can totally exercise and test my governance skills if that's the case."
"Hmmm..." He rubbed his chin animated while staring at me quizzically. "You know, you are really one smart ."
"Yeah. I know that. Just transfer me there already."
"Fine. I will. But that is for only a half year. I'll transfer you there by uhmm- December, I guess. I'm still giving you ample time wrap up all of your projects here in the head office."
"Thanks, dad. But you know, you can actually transfer me by next month. I can manage my projects remotely there, anyway."
"No. You'll be staying here until December."
"But--"
"No buts."
"Why then?"
"Because I still want to spend time with you. Who knows... maybe when you come back I'm already dead."
"Yah. Stop making me feel guilty."
"That's your decision, Yuri. I respect that. Live in Shanghai, far away from me. Make my grandson be away from me too. It's all okay, really. An old man like me isn't really that important in this world anymore, anyway. Well... I'm already old and terribly sick."
This… This is exactly the reason why until now I couldn't get to fly to Shanghai. It is him, using reverse psychology on me. But if I will still pursue this plan of mine and ignore him, I'll be renowned as scum. I don't want that. Besides, what I also wanted is to be beside him throughout the whole time before his time ends or mine, whichever comes earlier. *Sigh*. I really have no choice.
"Fine. I will stay as long as you wish."
"Great! Now... stay here until I die. It's only few more years left so don't worry. I have Lupus remember?" and he chuckled.
"Seriously?"
"Yes, I'm serious. Stay here with me."
"No, I mean, you're really insisting you'll die with that disease? You'll die due to aging, dad."
"And that-- will be more favorable to me. We can be together for a longer while."
Yeah, right. Maybe until I die too by the hands of Henry...
Crap. We sounded the same after all. He really is my uncle.

After I got out of my dad's office, I immediately went on my way down to mine. However, I just realized I'm so effing stupid... I used the freaking elevator!
Oh god damn it, I forgot Jessica's operating this thing! And I even freaking forgot about to wear my disguise too! Arrghhhh--
It's a good thing though that another five employees were in there too. I stood the farthest from her.
"What floor, sir?" she asked.
"12th..." I answered and she pressed. And I tell you, it was like a very long journey to the 12th floor when it's supposed to be only less than three minutes. I felt like I'm sweating bullets the whole time. My heart even pounded harder and harder every time another employee comes out of the elevator.
Exactly as the door opened for the 12th, I immediately escaped and ran to my office. It was a heck of embarrassing moment though as all my employees were looking at me in flabbergast. But still, *whew*, that was like a matter of life and death. It doesn't matter if they'll see me weird now.
I decided to just wear the disguise Yoong gave me for the day. This is better than nothing. Jessica seemed to be too eager on catching me. My employee was right, she takes shift of being the janitress for this floor.
"Here's your coffee, Sir Yuri." Hara snapped as she came in my office. Wow. She's unusually polite today.
She placed the cup on my desk. "Is there anything else you want from me, Sir?"
"Nothing more. Thank you."
She bowed. Yet, when she was about to turn back, I snapped, "Hara."
"Y-yes?"
"You're a bad liar. Spill it out."
"Wh-what do you mean?" she asked then faked a laugh.
"Who are you talking to earlier? What are you planning to do?"
"I-- I already said it's nothing, sir."
"Hara."
"I said it's nothing!"
Before she could ran away from my office, I quickly stood up and jumped over my desk to catch her. I grabbed both of her wrists then pinned her on the wall. "Just freaking tell me what it is, Hara!"
"No! Let me go!"
"No, I will not---!"
The door suddenly opened. My female employee, Ya Eun, looked at us in shock. "S-sir, I--" she uttered in an obvious crack tone.
I immediately pulled away from Hara and cleared my throat, "What is it, Ya Eun?"
"This is for your signature, Sir." she went near and handed the paper to me, still, she was exchanging glances between me and Hara in a critical manner.
I quickly signed off the papers and handed it back to her, "Thanks, Ya Eun."
She gave us one last look then uttered, "Thank you sir." As soon as she left, Hara ran her way out.
I decided not to pursue my luck on squeezing information from Hara for the rest of my half-day shift. Its better be this way or else it might create a not-so-good rumor around the office. They might think I'm a ert for harassing her or something. *Sigh*. If only it was a guy who caught us earlier, it will be fine then. I'm sure there will be no rumors to float around.
There was no more trouble for me as I lef
