The unhappy incident with those three punks is quickly forgotten, especially since they aren’t appearing in front of us any longer. I’ve put my foot down and insisted that them unnies don’t extend their promotions, lest something else crops up. On this, I got my way. Kwon and I are on the second music show of the week, and after the live performance, we’re heading back to our waiting room—where we predict that the staff will be all packed and waiting for our return.
I push the door open and am proven right. All of them are already done packing, sitting around, looking expectantly in the direction of the door. Upon our entry, most of them start standing up, bidding us goodbye and leaving. Yes, we’ve gotten that efficient since there is no further work for them. What use is keeping all the staff needlessly anyway. Having nothing that keeps us at the broadcast station any longer, Kwon and I also start packing up. We’re almost out of the building when one of the programme director assistants, one that we like a fair bit holds us back.
She starts ranting, “What do I give you’ll slots for? The least you could do is appear when we announce the winner!”
“But the station never had a problem with it?”
“Give me some face, can you?” She’s raging mad.
Kwonnie looks at me, confounded at her sudden change in behaviour. We then decide to meekly heed her instruction since we’ve never seen such a pleasant person this angry before. As a result, Kwonnie and I are hiding behind everyone else, chatting while waiting for the recording to finish. We pay no attention to the commotion going on upfront. I vaguely hear Kwon’s name being called.
