I’m on one knee a few moments after the last page is flipped.

“But you already—” Ga In gasps, then drops open in surprise. She stares at the gold lettering again in shock. The pen slips through her fingers and leaves a jarring gold gash across her words. She inhales sharply. Then joy floods those beautiful eyes of hers. But it’s gone as soon as it came.

“But you’re not ready for this right?” The demons haunting her surface again. Her insecurity is wrecking havoc.
“I am.” Immediate and definitive, but tone nevertheless gentle.

“You’re coerced by some other factors. Like our parents, or your promotional schedule.” Her eyes never leave my face. And in her eyes, I see so many conflicting emotions.

“I’m not that kind of man, Ga In-ah, you know that.”

She moves to sit on the edge of the bed and caresses my cheek tenderly, “I don’t want to rush you into anything, Kwonnie.”

“This is exactly what I want.” It is.

“Kwonnie, I know, you want to make me happy. But I don’t my happiness to come at the expense of yours.” The look on her face suggests that she actually means it, which shocks me.
