THE NEXT DAY

Today is the day when Tiffany can discharge from the hospital. Taeyeon has been informed by the hospital about it so he takes a half day leave. He wants to help her.

While Tiffany on the other hand feel happy after being told that she can discharge today. Her blood pressure has stable and her body temperature too have back to normal. She packed her things up and saw a phone charger. That is not hers. She doesn’t know it owner so she just put it on the table. Whoever the owner is, she just feel thankful because if not because the charger she can’t contact the office and also Jessica. Tiffany didn’t told Jessica that she discharge today. She didn’t want to disturb her since Jessica have been busy handling a big case lately. She only visited Tiffany in lunch hour, and it only a moment because she have to get back to the court also have appointment with her client.

Finish packing up her things, Tiffany want to put her bag down but she can’t because her hand still not strong enough.

“Want some help?” A voice coming from the door. Tiffany look up and saw Taeyeon standing in front of the door while smiling.

“Mr. Kim?” What he’s doing here again? She looked at Taeyeon with curious look face.

He step forward and walk towards Tiffany’s bed. He took the bag while said:

“I’ve told you before, call my name. We’re not in office. Ah here, we’re done. Now let’s go.” Instead of put it down, Taeyeon hold the bag. He also took the charger that Tiffany left on the table. Yes, that is his charger.   

“Where to?” Tiffany blank. Where do this guy wanna take her to?

“We’re going home of course. What are you waiting for? Expecting someone?” Where does he know that I’m going home today? Omo. This is creepy. Is he stalking me? well I know I didn’t pay his debt yet, but he doesn’t have to stalk me.

“Tiffany? Hey I’m talking to you here. Hello are you listening?” Tiffany’s thought stopped when she heard Taeyeon call her name and wave his hand in front of her face.

“Huh? Oh sorry. Ye-yes I heard you Mr. Kim. I-I…” Taeyeon cut her again. Why does this girl so stubborn? Just drop the formality already. Aish!

“Ah ah. Tiffany, what did I said just now? Put out the ‘Mr.’ thing. Now try me to call me again.”

Tiffany don’t know what to do. Is it okay to drop the tittle? Didn’t it will be awkward then?

“Tae-Taeyeon.” She call his name.

Taeyeon nodded. He grinned when he heard Tiffany call his name. This is the first time, Tiffany call his name. Well before this, she just call him with “Mr. Kim”, “Mr. Nobody”. All this was formal thing, he didn’t like it at all.

Taeyeon then take Tiffany’s hand and dragged her out of the room. Tiffany feel surprised, she didn’t expect this. She can’t let go of her hand because Taeyeon hold it tight. They walked through the hospital corridor but stopped when Taeyeon release her hand.

“Wait here for a while. I want to make a payment over there.” Taeyeon asked her to sit on the bench and pointed his finger to a counter. That is the counter he going to pay Tiffany’s hospital bill. Tiffany didn’t get to say anything when Taeyeon have walk towards the counter. Why does this guy so fast?

Tiffany just keep waiting Taeyeon who make the payment. There few people but it’s slow. Maybe they got a problem or something. While she’s waiting, she thought of something. Why does this guy always there for her? And just now, he just hold her hand with slumber. What are this guy?

Tiffany played with her finger. While thinking of that, a nurse who walk in front of her greet Tiffany.

“Hi, you’re Tiffany right? The one who stay in room 027. You discharge today?” She asked.

Tiffany looked at her and nodded. She let out a smile. This nurse the one assist her every day.

“Who are you waiting for?”

Tiffany pointed at Taeyeon who still waiting for his turn to pay the bill. The nurse looked at the way Tiffany pointed her finger at and smiling when she saw a familiar guy.

“Ah. You’re so lucky Tiffany-ssi. He really cares about you and not to mention, he is sweet too. Haih how envious all of us with you.”

Huh? Sweet? Tiffany looked at the nurse. She didn’t understand at all. What does she talking about?

“I’m sorry but what do you mean by sweet? I think he just fine over there.” Tiffany said while laughing. This nurse always have something funny.

“He visit you every day and brought you a flower. But he came when you were sleep. When we asked him why, he just said that he didn’t want to disturb you. Isn’t that sweet Tiffany-ssi? Ohmy you were so lucky to have him!” the nurse explained excitedly to her. Tiffany’s mouth widens, didn’t expect that will came out from the nurse explanation.

“What? He visits me every day? Seriously like every day? And the flower in my room was from him? Why would he do that? Maybe because I pushed him away, that is why he only came when I sleep.” This is all in Tiffany’s mind right now. She never expects Taeyeon would do that to her.

“Ahh about that. Thank you.” Tiffany bow her head and let out a smile even though she just know about it just now. Well at least she have to play her role as his ‘girlfriend’.

The nurse just nodded and smile to Tiffany. She replied back Tiffany’s smile and continue her step then disappear from there. At the same time, Taeyeon already finish paid the bill make his way to Tiffany.

“Come, let’s go. I’m done.” He picks up Tiffany’s bag and wait for Tiffany to get up from her seat but, unfortunately she loses her balance and almost fell on the floor but she got grabbed by Taeyeon’s fast action.

“Are you okay?” Taeyeon asked Tiffany that still on his grip. Their face was so close and Taeyeon can see every inch of her face clearly. And so do Tiffany. She can smell Taeyeon’s perfume, it was so good. He smell so nice. Tiffany nodded and Taeyeon help her to stand up again.

“Are you sure you okay? Should we go back and see the doctor?”

“No, no I’m fine. Thank you Mr.-… um I mean Taeyeon.”

“Um Taeyeon, you didn’t forget way to my house right?” Taeyeon who was driving, nodded and let out a smile while answer.

“Uhuh.”

“So, if you know why did you went to this way instead of way to my house?”

“Simple. Because we’re not going to your house.” Taeyeon answered with slumber. Tiffany feel confuse. if they’re not going to her house then where is Taeyeon taking her now? Oh please, she didn’t have much energy to follow his order today.

“Huh?”

“From now on, you’ll stay with me.”

“What? why?! I got a house and I’ll live at my house. So why did I have to stay at your house? No, I’m not going there. Send me home or stop the car. You choose.” The heck he’s doing now? Can he just please stop doing all this crazy things?

Taeyeon give a signal and stop the car at the side of the road. He can’t explain it in the middle of road.

“You choose to stop the car? Okay, then let me out. I’ll go home by myself.” Tiffany said. Taeyeon can see anger in her eyes. She really mad, pissed off with Taeyeon right now. Tiffany already tried to unlock the car. He really need to explain to her now, or not she’ll misunderstood about it.

“Wait.” Taeyeon stopped her by grabbing her wrist, preventing her from unlock the door.

Tiffany stop when feel her hand being grabbed by someone.

“I didn’t stop the car to let you go home by yourself. I asked you to stay with me because your house is not safe anymore. It-t…” Tiffany cut him off before he could explain the whole thing.

“Wait, what’s wrong with my house? It has security and so on, of course it safe.”

“If it has security, why did someone can break into your house? That you call safe?” Taeyeon shoot a question back to her. Tiffany be silent for a moment. How did he know? She didn’t tell him anything yet. But Tiffany didn’t want to lose. She still want to prove that her house is safe.

“But still, it’s my house. I feel comfortable there.” She makes a puppy eyes.

Taeyeon understand her feeling but it’s not safe for her to stay there now. It’s too dangerous and she could be more exposed to the culprit.

“Fany-ah listen here, I want you to be safe. That’s why I asked you to stay with me. the culprit might do more to you. I don’t want to see you in that condition again. Just stay with me, well at least after we caught the culprit. Trust me, I’ll protect you and I’ll not let that thing happen to you again. Okay?”

Tiffany couldn’t said anything anymore. She can live with Jessica, but her best friend there also didn’t know about the real situation. So. It’s getting harder and harder for her. But Taeyeon was right, it can get more danger than this. She keep silent. Taeyeon, who saw her silent continue to drive back. Tiffany surprised and look at him with confuse look. She even didn’t get a chance to decide!

30 minutes of driving, they finally arrive at Taeyeon’s house. Hos house is so much different compared to Tiffany. There is security everywhere. Everything need security permission. Taeyeon live on the top floor of the building, which mean he live in a pent house. It was so amazing. Tiffany can’t say anything as it was such a beautiful place! The interior design, the furniture, and even the feature wall was combined with modern classic vibe. It was so chill and comfortable. But something was missing… the house sound so quiet. Where is his child?

“Are you sure I can stay here?” Tiffany asked him as she so curious about his family.

“Of course you can stay here Tiffany. I’m the one let you in.” Taeyeon answered while put her bag on his leather couch. Looking at Tiffany who still standing, Taeyeon then patted the couch and said:

“Come here, sit.” Tiffany sit on the couch as ordered. Taeyeon make his way to the kitchen, want to get her some juice when heard Tiffany asked again.

“Didn’t you have to discuss with your wife first? She might be uncomfortable seeing me here. Ah yes, not to forget your child, Sarang too.” Taeyeon, who is pouring the juice into the glass then stop. Did he misheard or she really mention about ’wife’? He step back to the living room, want to get the confirmation whether he is misheard or something.

“What did you say?”

“I said, your wife. Is she okay if I’m here?”  So he didn’t mishear. Taeyeon laughing out loud. This girl think that he’s married.

“Hahahahahahahahhahaha! Ah I can’t stop laughing. Hahahahahaha!” Tiffany feel confused. What’s wrong with him laughing suddenly? Did she say the wrong thing?

“What are you laughing at? Something funny?” Taeyeon stop laughing upon heard Tiffany’s questions. He wipe his tears that formed because laughing to hard.

“You really think that I’m married? Do I look like I have a wife?” eh what did he talking about? Tiffany still don’t understand what Taeyeon trying to say.

“Of course you have a wife. I mean, you already have a child. So she must have a mother and so do you. you must got a wife.” Taeyeon shook his head when hear Tiffany explanation. Don’t know why, but he really find it funny when Tiffany said that he have a wife. He make his way and sit beside her. He showed her his 10 fingers suddenly.

“See this? Have you seen any ring here?” Tiffany shook her head.

“And, have you seen any wedding pictures in this house? All you can see here is just family pictures didn’t you?” Tiffany looked around the house. He was right, there only have some arts on the wall and no wedding picture was hanging on it. She then looked back at him.

“But, Sarang… she is your child right?”

“Yes she is, but didn’t you ever heard about adopted child? Is it wrong for me to have an adopted child?”

Now everything make sense. Tiffany realize her mistakes. All this while she have misunderstood about him. She dare to push him away when he want to help her. He even come to take care of her even without her knowing. OhmyGod Tiffany, what have you done?!
