Soondeok’s diary

Oh my gosh! I can’t believe it! Eun actually let me sleep in bed last night! Okay, I’m going to write it all down so I will never forget it! I was laying out my beddings on the floor last night when he came back, his servants carried boxes of things – I guess he bought a lot of things yesterday. I could see the bright smile on his face when he entered the room, I’m so glad he’s like that again. Of course his face grew grim when he saw me, but it was softer than before – like he’s been expecting to see me. We cannot leave the boxes laying around the room which is already messy enough, so we unpacked them and arranged them. The prince bought lots of funny things from the merchants of China – he said he’d like to go there one day himself. I’d like that, when there’s no war I mean. His toy collection shelf is once again full of things – I can’t help but think that he bought them to replace the old. So after an hour or so, the room is finally in a good state – back to its glamourous self, a room fitting for a prince. I collapsed on my blanket when it’s over as the prince went to the closet to change into his pyjamas. Then he came out and walked towards the bed and fell facedown. My poor darling must’ve been really tired yesterday. He rolled on the new bed then asked me if the bed’s different. I told him that it’s the new bed as I close my eyes to sleep. He leaned over the bed and pulled my ear, that jerked me and I jumped up – my martial arts reflex I’m afraid is too strong to tame. He pointed to the wall and said I could sleep inside! Next, when I’m settling in there, he grabbed some small pillows and made a line between us, telling me not to cross that line. Isn’t he cute? It’s like the time when my brother and I had to draw a line on our desk to keep each other away from our half. I stared at him till I fell asleep, such a perfect face – those eye lashes, that nose, that wonderful pink lips and that heart-shaped ear! I think this is how heaven feels like. Thank goodness the bed is large – because he still kept turning and kicking around in his sleep last night – luckily he didn’t cross over and hit me. Also, I can’t help but noticing someone walking around in front of our room last night…it was very faint – very light footsteps, I wonder who it was. It didn’t sound like a man or an assassin, maybe it was the maid? I know we’re not in the palace and the prince has no interest in the throne whatsoever, but I need to keep my eyes out. I shall protect him, with my life. Oh, Eun’s coming back, I need to hide this. A quick note, he agreed I can use his desk!

Shopping really works the magic! I’m now back to my old self! Well, almost…my heart sank and was snapped back to reality when I saw Soondeok as I entered my room last night. But I guess I just have to live with that. She helped me last night with putting the things around my room so I let her sleep on our bed. The bed is huge! I’ve always wanted one, I need to thank mother for it. She didn’t seem happy seeing me this morning though, I wonder what made her upset. I want to go on a trip so badly…I saw this painting in the market yesterday – those beautiful sceneries! Imagine all the places I can travel to! Since I’m married now and can live outside the palace, I may as well travel around. I’ll ask grandpa about it when he’s around. Soondeok wanted my desk so I let her use it, it’s not like I needed it anyway. Why does she like reading and writing so much? I think books are like the most boring thing on earth. To think that I’m going to live with her for the rest of my life…I think I should just be thankful she didn’t kick me in bed last night in her sleep.
