“Hyung, it’s hot today,” Taemin said, fanning himself off with his notebook. “Can we take a break?”

                “Sure,” Minho replied. It was hot, and they’d been walking for a long time, hoping to make it to Minho’s parents’ house by dinnertime.

                “Yah, there are no benches around here except that broken one,” Taemin complained.

                “Well, we can sit on that one I guess,” Minho replied.

                “Hyung. There’s room for maybe you on there, definitely not both of us.”

                “You can sit, then. I don’t mind standing,” Minho said with a smile.

                “No, hyung! I don’t want you to stand. You sit.”

                “And you can sit on my lap,” Minho grinned, and Taemin replied with a cute smile and nod. They sat, Taemin comfortably situated on Minho’s lap and both of them smiling in the heat of the afternoon.

                “Take a drink of water; it’ll cool you off,” Taemin said, pulling out his own water bottle and drinking from it. Minho opened his backpack to find just about everything he’d ever need except a water bottle.

                “I think I left mine in my dorm,” Minho sighed. “I’ll just –”

                “Here, take some of mine. We’re almost to your parents’ house anyway, we can survive,” Taemin smiled, offering his water to Minho.

                A year ago, Minho would have been giddy with excitement at the prospect of an indirect kiss. But now, having actually tasted Taemin’s lips and the way they felt against his, a water bottle was nothing to be excited about.

                He did kiss Taemin anyway, just for good measure.
