Taemin was playing defense, and while he didn’t really trust himself to guard the goal, the game had gone fairly well so far.

                Even when he was just standing there, Taemin could hear Minho cheering for him and the team, and Taemin smiled happily, hearing his perfect boyfriend always having faith in him.

                The two teams were tied four-all, and the offense on his team was doing well. It looked like they’d win, with only a few minutes left in the game.

                So easy! Taemin mused to himself, excited how simple it had been to get this far. They’d win the game, advance in the tournament, and Minho would be so happy. And the best part was that Taemin had barely had to do anything at all. He’d only touched the ball maybe once or twice.

                “Taemin! Watch that guy!” he hear Minho call, and suddenly a big, burly player was barreling towards him in pursuit of the ball. Taemin gasped, trying to run to him, trying to catch him, trying desperately to keep him from reaching the goal, but it was no use.

                “Come on, don’t let him score!” Minho cried. The player kicked the ball hard, and the goalie had no chance. The ball went in, the whistle blew, and the game was over. Taemin could hear Minho’s groan as he walked off the field to his boyfriend.

                “I’m sorry, hyung,” he said dejectedly. “I ruined it. I was just out there in dreamland and I didn’t even see him coming towards me. It’s all my fault.”

                “No, Taemin,” Minho replied. “Don’t worry. It’s not your fault. It’s just bad luck, that’s all.”

                “Still, I feel bad,” Taemin sighed.

                “At least you gave them a chance, right?” Minho asked, Taemin, kissing his head. “Thank you for that.”
