“Omo,” Taemin gasped, looking at his computer screen.
“What?” Minho asked, looking up.
“Just…a kid from my high school passed away today.”
“I’m sorry,” Minho replied, getting up to comfort Taemin but Taemin shook his head.
“It’s okay; I never knew him very well even though he was close with some of my friends. But I was having a conversation with Kai just the other day about him and now...I don’t know what to think, hyung.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, I remember seeing him in the halls. I remember my friends talking about him. And it’s weird that Kai and I chose to talk about him just last week…he’s gone, hyung. It’s not like he just went away. He’s gone. You never think it’s going to happen to someone so young and in such close proximity to you…”
“Death is closer than we think, I guess,” Minho said philosophically. He pulled Taemin in for a hug. “But don’t let it worry you. You’re healthy and careful. I’m healthy and careful. We’ll be fine.”
“Yeah,” Taemin replied, snuggling into Minho’s warm chest. He stayed there until he fell asleep, and when he woke up in a sleeping Minho’s arms, he’d been reassured that everything was going to be alright.
A/N: Sorry for the morbid chapter...it's just that I'm in Taemin's situation. A kid I never knew that well but was close to a lot of my friends died today and I was literally talking about him yesterday with a friend of mine. So I'm a little...I don't know, not sad, just...I don't know. I guess I've had a sort of realization that yeah, anyone can die at any time. Writing helps me understand my feelings better, so forgive me if this chapter is not your cup of tea.
