“Umma brought me out for ice cream today,” Taemin said. “I think it’s consolation for no longer having a father, but I can’t complain. I got banana with chocolate sprinkles!”

                “Well, that is certainly worth it,” Minho laughed. “So today wasn’t too bad?”

                “Today was good, hyung,” Taemin smiled contentedly. “It was good.”

                “Here’s Jisoo,” Minho said, picking Jisoo up off the couch and handing him to Taemin. “Does your umma like him?”

                “She’s so happy to be a grandmother,” Taemin chuckled. He looked at Jisoo with a fatherly expression on his face. “Jisoo-yah. I’ll never leave you, okay?” he shook Jisoo gently. “Okay?” Jisoo let out a meow and Taemin set him down on his lap, petting his head. Jisoo purred and Minho smiled at them.

                “You’re going to be a great appa for real kids,” he said honestly.

                “I hope so,” Taemin said, but he didn’t sound sad. “I never want to turn out like my appa.”

                “You won’t,” Minho replied, “because you’re different.”

                “And so are you,” Taemin replied, kissing Minho as Jisoo meowed, telling Taemin to resume petting him. “And you too, Jisoo-yah,” Taemin cooed. “I love both of you.”

                Minho laughed as Taemin whispered “but don’t tell Jisoo that I love you more than him,” feigning to cover Jisoo’s ears.

                “I love you more than anything,” Minho replied.
