“Happy birthday!” everyone cried, surrounding the table as Minho and Onew smiled brightly.

                “Come on, blow out the candles, you two!” Joon urged. He held Onew’s waist as Taemin sidled up to Minho.

                Onew and Minho blew out their candles and everyone cheered as Joon kissed Onew. Taemin giggled and placed a kiss on Minho’s lips as well, so as to not be outdone.

                “And now I have something to say,” Joon said, and everyone got quiet. “Happy birthday, Onew, the love of my life, and…well…” he got down on one knee, and everyone gasped except for Onew, who looked blank. “Onew, will you marry me?” He held out a little box.

                Onew didn’t respond for a moment, and Joon faltered.

                “Onew,” Key said quietly.

                And suddenly Onew started crying.

                “Yes,” he sobbed, taking Joon’s hands. “Of course I will!” Joon smiled as he folded Onew into his loving embrace. He kissed his fiancé once again and everyone laughed as Onew kept crying into Joon’s shoulder.

                “Congratulations,” they all said, and Taemin laughed, because he definitely had been outdone.
