“So?” Minho asked. “How did it go?” Taemin trudged in the door after meeting with his parents.

                “I still don’t get it. Umma didn’t seem happy, but at the same time, she was trying to convince me to reconcile with appa. I don’t understand.”

                “Well, maybe she just doesn’t want to deprive you of a father figure,” Minho said.

                “I’m twenty,” Taemin sighed. “Isn’t it too late to have a father?”

                “Maybe you should tell your umma that. Tell her that you’re happy with just her.”

                “Why does appa want to reconcile anyway?” Taemin wondered. “It’s been so many years.”

                “You didn’t go over that during your meeting?” Minho asked, and Taemin sighed.

                “We kind of did. He said he hadn’t been thinking straight, and he’s thought about us for all those years. I don’t know, hyung, I just don’t feel like I can trust him, and I don’t think I could ever love him. He’s like some stranger who’s trying to into my life and I hate it.”

                “Tell your umma. She’ll understand.”

                “I hope so. Her boyfriend is coming over tonight. I hope she doesn’t break up with him too…I hope she doesn’t keep breaking up with her boyfriends because of appa. I’d never forgive him for that.”

                “I think it’ll all resolve itself soon,” Minho said, holding Taemin in his arms. “You just need to make sure your umma knows how you feel, and ask her how she feels too, okay?”

                “Hyung, how are you so smart?” Taemin sighed.

                “I get smarter when you have a problem that I need to help with,” Minho smiled. “It’s so I can make you feel better.”

                “And you always do.”
