“Hyung, hyung!” Taemin cried, “hyung, there are fireworks outside! Look!” He grabbed Minho’s hand and pulled him outside into the yard. He pointed up at the sky and inhaled admiringly. “Look at that. Isn’t it beautiful?”

                “It’s great,” Minho said. “Wow, they go up so high!”

                “And there’s so many!” Taemin said, impressed. “Ooh, that one left sparkles! So pretty, hyung!”

                “I like them too, Taeminnie,” Minho grinned.

                They sat there, watching the fireworks for as long as they were on. Some were sparkly, others were loud and colorful. Taemin’s very favorite left orange trails of glitter in the sky that fell down like the leaves of a palm tree on a lazy summer day.

                “Summer’s almost over,” Taemin breathed, still looking up at the fireworks. “Maybe that’s why there are fireworks today. Celebrating the end of an excellent season that might just be my favorite.”

                “Every season is your favorite,” Minho laughed, “but yeah, you’re probably right. And anyway, fall is just around the corner, and you’ll enjoy that just as much as any other season, won’t you?” Minho asked, and Taemin nodded.

                “I think this year is going to be really good,” Taemin mused, and Minho pulled him close.

                “You have no idea,” he said, kissing the top of Taemin’s head.
