“You look beautiful! Jihoon get the camera”, Taehee yelled from the front door, “Daniel, if you were Romeo in my school production, I might have actually paid attention and got an A in english… Are you getting the camera or not?”. “Calm down woman, I am coming”, Jihoon yelled back. A flash blinded us a moment later. And another… and another… “How come you never went as Romeo for Halloween?”, she pouted. “Well maybe if you met me when my hair looked that good”, he gestured to Daniel’s. “Where did Spiderman disappear to?”, she asked. “Probably off fighting another bad guy”, Jihoon teased.

“Woojin”, Daniel called out. He came back downstairs a few moments later with Daehwi and Guanlin, who were dressed as Batman and Superman. “I guess we missed the superhero memo”, I straightened Daehwi’s mask, before Taehee and Jihoon pulled him aside for a photoshoot. Daniel lifted up Guanlin’s cape and inspected it, “Is this how angels are flying now?”. They both chuckled at his joke. Woojin was on the sofa, devouring the candy he had just received from Taehee. “You are going to get sick if you eat too much Spidey”, I said to him, “You should save these for later, and tomorrow and the next day and the next day”.

He smiled with his sugar covered lips and handed me a chocolate bar, “This is for you Aunt Tris". “Aww thank you... I missed getting candy on Halloween", I kissed his cheek, "How about I share this with you? But then... it’s going to be your last one until later... okay”. He nodded. I broke off a piece and fed him to him, before finishing the rest of it myself.  "And... where is my chocolate?", Daniel grabbed the empty wrapper from me. I gently ran my index finger along my lips, which now held his gaze. “Woojin sweety… it’s your turn”, Taehee called out, snapping Daniel out of it. 

While the boys were busy with their photoshoot, I headed up to my room to freshen up. I stood in front of the mirror and fixed my wings. It somehow felt so natural on me. I could have sworn I had the power to move them with my mind. Maybe that was going to be one of my powers; telekinesis. That would come in handy when I needed the remote or a glass of water that I was too lazy to get up for. I held my necklace; I had been doing this often and making wishes as if it held some sort of magical power.

Please let tonight go well.  Please don’t let my two angels fight. Please don’t let anyone get hurt. Please keep The Fallen away. Please don't let JR kidnap me. I lifted my dress and ensured my dagger was tightly secured around my leg. I didn’t have a chance to get a holster so I had made one using a leather belt. Tucked inside was the dagger; its tip covered by a protective layer I made out of some old material. It wasn’t the most efficient way of keeping it on me, but it was the only way of concealing it, while wearing this dress. I couldn’t rely on the make belief power of my necklace to prevent things from going wrong tonight. If JR and The Fallen did show up, I was going to be ready.

It was already 7pm. We had gone through about 30 houses and I couldn’t handle it anymore. Daniel’s energy, on the other hand, matched the 3 boys. I had never seen him that excited before. I barely knew Guanlin, but I could tell he was just as thrilled as Daniel was. “Oh no”, Daehwi looked at his cellphone, “The party has already started!
