“Did you miss me?”, a voice asked, from a distance, as I slowly opened my eyes. I was in a dark room; the only light coming in was from a doorway, where the voice was standing. I looked around, unsure of where I was or how I had gotten there. My hands and legs were not tied up, but I was too weak to stand. Why was I weak? I tried to clear my mind to figure out what was happening. I knew this voice and the air in this place smelt familiar. “Where am I?”, I mumbled, “What do you want from me”. The light from outside was so blinding that I couldn’t focus on his silhouette. He began to slowly shut the door, “What are you doing?”, I yelled, my worry intensely growing. “Something that needs to be done”, the voice stated. It was so familiar, but I still couldn’t place it. “Who are you”, I tried to yell, “What do you want from me?”. I felt around the floor I was sitting on, looking for something. What was I looking for? I searched frantically as if whatever I was going to find would help me, but all that I found was cold dusty concrete. The voice hadn’t spoken again; his silhouette just stood there, watching me. “Please… please just let me go”, I pleaded. “I can’t do that”, the voice said, “It took me too long to get to this point. Finally I can set my plan in motion”. The realization swiftly crept up on me. I knew exactly where I was because I had been here before; I was in one The Fallen’s lair.

The silhouette moved closer to me as I shielded my eyes from the light. I had no recollection of how I became their captive. The light shone so brightly behind him, that I still couldn’t set my eyes on his face. “I have been waiting a long time for this Tris and I can’t have you ruining my plan. So how about you behave and not try anything silly… hmm”, the door shut and I heard footsteps approaching me. I felt him kneel down beside me. I tried to stand up or move away from him, but it was pointless. “Do you think having me in your life was simply coincidence?”, the voice asked, clear enough to finally know who it was, “Meeting you in the gift shop that day was all a part of the greater plan”.
